  1. even if it's true, the only reason would be that Bio promised a lot and failed to deliver. or maybe they intended to do it this way all along. promise a spiritual successor to BG and make a completely different game to appeal to younger gamers. which means we were fooled. and you know what they say in Texas, 'fool me once...'
  2. no I'm not. you 're not reading carefully
  3. yeah, I remember I wasn't answering to you exclusively just trying to point out, that this whole discussion has lost any sense, like WUE said.
  4. it deosn't matter, it may be their best-selling game ever. in my eyes that only proves one point: people forgot how good video games can be. I'm tired of replaying old titles, which had it all. but there's no alternative. get through DA in 2 days then go back to my Valkyrie Profile for a month, rinse and repeat. but of course you're right, I'm probably blind or stupid, how can I not see, that DA is a masterpiece, outshining them all?! second only to NWN
  5. that was an example of "context"
  6. you're right, DA sure wasn't big, at least in my book. hell, none of my friends played it, they couldn't even be bothered to try a cracked version, that's how bad DA is. they bought ME2 though, and enjoyed it, which is very strange...
  7. we'll be getting them soon enough
  8. and staying with Bio with that kind of attitude towards DA2 and the company's policy would be best for Bio and it's fans? it's not selfish, it's the only decision that makes sense
  9. ahaha, you sound as if he was indebted to you and to every other gamer in the world, to work for Bio forever and ever what do you mean "selfish"? I don't see how this word applies when a person's job choice is concerned. it's not like he's a savant, trying to make the world a better place. and by quitting his job because it doesn't pay, he lets the humanity down. on the contrary, he doesn't want to make Bio games so instead of tagging along and subduing his creativity urge he decides to look for a place where he can satisfy it. even if it means a smaller paycheck.
  10. call it anyway you like, but it's certainly not silly. I call it 'character'
  11. so the lazy programmers, artists and seniors are to blame then. they get payed but can't be bothered to put a little extra effort
  12. makes you wonder, where is all the money going? Origins cost how much? I refuse to believe it all went in voiceovers and marketing.
  13. my point exactly. although I liked how half-life did it btw, with rechargeable shields and health in dark corners (iirc)
  14. rechargeable shields make more sense than insta-heal first-aid kits in other games do imho at least if you place the enemies right. it helps making the game more dynamic, at least that's how I see it. and come on! vehicles are the shiznit! especially for co-op multiplayer battles
  15. I skipped this one and went straight to ArmA2 from Red Hammer any game, where it takes more than two bullets to down the player character is bad by default in my eyes
  16. yeah, that's how I did it, but still when 1x1 vs infantry, it's very intense
  17. Operation Flashpoint is the greatest FPS of all time for me (playing ArmA2 right now). which doesn't make Halo necessarily bad. Halo was all about multiplayer and a great physics engine. I couldn't care less about the singleplayer campaign.
  18. what kinda scares me is that blitz commanders don't have access to units at the start, you need to upgrade 3 times kinda sucked on my first vs game. the american commander just took 2 out of 3 key spots and brought me down to 200 points, before I could finally build a tank and launch a counter attack. blitz wasn't meant to be used for a rush tactic I suppose, but the gap sure makes me wonder... guess the game does suffer from some balance issues
  19. just like NWN
  20. Halo was revolutionary in it's time, but I wonder why Bungie isn't even trying anymore? it's like they've given up on creative game development
  21. I do wonder, how much of the original team is still in Bungie. I mean, is there a chance we'll ever see Myth IV or Oni 2 by Bungie?..
  22. oh, thanks. edit: oops, I was wrong
  23. anyone care to explain how to activate this The Sacrifice thing? I can't find it on Steam
  24. where's the fun in playing without a walkthrough?
