  1. I don't remember what chapter that is, I quit after finishing the desert area, there was no story in that game, no purpose to move forward, nothing. I didn't feel like I was doing something important. at least Diablo had great interface and co-op, DS had nothing other than small groups of enemies scattered around big empty areas
  2. man, I still don't get this "it doesn't play like a true DS game" thing. why do you care? Fallout New Vegas doesn't play like Fallout 2, so I just keep replaying Fallout 2 over and over, because it's such a great game, I don't need a new game that plays exactly the same, I have my old one, which is perfect in every way. so why do you? I had more than 200000 gold at the last shopkeeper you meet in the game, there was nothing to spend it on, I already had the best stuff for both characters. that "junk" is there so you never run out of money. but its purpose isn't to make you rich, because there's nothing to do with all that gold.
  3. it wasn't a good feature, it was a good concept, but implemented badly. unless you're a freak like me and like to play through the game with a low-level party, utilizing every tactical advantage you can get, then losing a character midway through the game isn't such a big deal. otherwise, having a lv 1 char in a lv 15 party, for example, doesn't make any sense they fixed it later in NWN and the such, when the new character would instantly get a huge xp boost and become of the same level as your party's average.
  4. let me guess, DS1 is the greatest game ever, right?
  5. I'm not your Jesus, but gently caress you too
  6. that's even better
  7. probably all the DS fans from here rushing the various sites to try and destroy Obsidian for ruining their favorite game
  8. of how many
  9. "the total lack of map" man, these people aren't even trying
  10. I'd rather LAN in Diablo 2 for the millionth time than play DS2, that game was utter crap
  11. actually, that was a lot of fun
  12. in 13 hours you should've hit the level cap anyway (it's 30). don't bring Diablo up, because it works exactly the same. the cool thing about Diablo was its LAN, where you could start new games with the same character over and over again, jump to higher difficulty settings. but the core game stayed the same, you get to Hell, kill Diablo, game over. anyway, 4 characters = 120 levels, the game's structure is non-linear, so you'll actually benefit from playing through it at least four times. but if you don't care about the story, about your characters, about anything other than "DING", I guess this game isn't for you. that's too bad, but what do you want from the devs? to make a new game that suits your taste better?
  13. man, you better not post anything at all, than something like that. I feel insulted, "lacks depth" compared to what? and who defined "depth" in a video game in the first place? and what the hell is with that user handle?
  14. oooh, a Warhammer campaign but wait, that's it? this forum really needs DMs
  15. I guess my vision is skewed by rotten tomatoes. over there any movie that has a "fresh" rating is considered a good movie, and to be fresh you only need to score above 59 (IIRC)
  16. whoa, more than a year to begin a campaign anyway, do we have any on-going campaigns in this forum? I'd love to read them.
  17. since when are the sales directly connected to metacritic scores? I don't know any people who buy games based on an aggregated score on some web-site with no credibility. it does affect the sales somewhat, but in no way is 74 a low score.
  18. since when 74 is a "low" score? on a 100 scale, 74 is 3/4s, how is that "low"?
  19. was there ever any doubt?
  20. Fallout 3 wasn't a proper Fallout game. but that's because Fallout 1 and 2 were out of this world, and following up on those two was a pretty tough task. DS 1 and 2, on the other hand, were really light on the lore, so making a "proper" game in that universe was easy
  21. man, this "action rpg" label sure gets thrown around a lot these days...
  22. DS3 is pretty much Dark Alliance 3, only without the D&D connection (which is a good thing). all I want is a party based Icewind Dale 3. I don't care how they make it, what combat system it will have, what edition of the rules they use, as long as it has a full party and the old Black Isle crew works on it, it's going to be the best dungeon crawler of the decade for me. Diablo 3, eat your heart out
  23. heh, you really liked the game, didn't you
