  1. Oh look, the service technician for our tractors is here again, second day in a row.................
  2. That's the easy half of my job =D That is actually surprisingly common, it's also quite common for the drivers to miss the gate by more than half a foot and smash the girders that separates the gates from eachother. My favourite though is when a door comes loose as they are reversing and gets sheared of on another trailer.
  3. Hah! They'd have to stop looking at instagram for 5 minutes for that.
  4. Well, NATO needs unity in their approval, and Turkey is blocking it. I'm curious just what(Or maybe, who) Sweden and Finland are willing to give to join this prestigious club.
  5. My coworkers continue to impress me, in one day they managed to do more damage to the vehicles than I've done in 6 years here. Christ, the repairman spends more time fixing out three vehicles than the 100+ other vehicles that he services...
  6. Not corporal punishment, more like humiliating, disgusting and wearying. I thought armed forces was a neutral term though? Includes all the branches doesn't it? Edit; ... Complete woosh XD
  7. Difficult since I'd have to dismount one of the computers and they used torx. We were supposed to rebuild the gatehouse and get new benches, but it turned out that the CEO got a 20% raise this year instead. Again. Yuuup, there's a word in Swedish that fits it very well; "Straffkommendering" literally; "Penalty assignment" or... Well, it's sort of similar to getting assigned something like latrine duty. Huh. I'm drawing a complete blank on how you'd translate that properly to English. @Guard Dog@ShadySands You guys were in the armed forces, right? Did you have a fancy or informal way to refer to something like that? A position that noone wants and that's used to penalize a soldier? We used to have an adjustable table and stuff, but then one of the bosses decided that they were going to introduce a magnetic dryboard, and they needed space so the adjustable table had to go. Chainsaw is tempting, but I'm thinking more fertilizer, diesel and then light up a cigarette. Yippiee ki-yay!
  8. Haha, yeah, alot of tangles, but the main problem is that they did their "cable management", and then put the bench as far against the wall as possible thus squeezing the cables in place, and then screwed the bench in place... so I can't move any of the power or hdmi cables. There's enough slack to raise it maybe 3-4 cms before they have disconnect.
  9. I hate mondays. No dice on elevating the monitor, the cable management is fubar. As soon as I tried to move the monitor 3 others turned off... One yard tractor is broken, in an unfathomable way, and other assorted messes to sort out.
  10. Well, not super tall, I'm like 10 cms above average, so it's not that extreme, my coworkers are ~160cms or 20cms below average so I entirely blame them
  11. It's not a bad idéa, but my coworkers would be severely disappointed since they are quite literally the size of said children, and it fits them C++ also works, that's what I used to use privately XD
  12. As promised. Taken at eyeheight with the chait in a comfortable height setting, slightly angled downwards. The top of the screen is at about shoulder height for me and the keyboard is about an inch from the edge of the workbench, so if I sit in such a way as to hold my shoulder back I can't see the screen...
  13. I'm sure that murdering some more Kurds will make that bipedal bellend cheer up. Or maybe some armenians? Decisions, decisions.
  14. Been stuck at a desk for 2 weeks now and my shoulder is worse than when I'm working as a yard-jockey. My immensly ergonomic workstation might be the reason why... Edit; Really cba to connect my phone to the laptop here at work, so I'll upload the image back home instead
  15. I've been working traffic for a week and 2 days now, and people have already started deferring to me. Again. -.-
  16. The only homework I ever did in school was when the social sciences teacher told us to read news for the next class, I didn't get penalized for not doing homework either.
  17. Greed actually, the right stopped it, but we got some tax cuts! The left party actually wanted to dismantle the army completely up until two years ago if I recall correctly, lol.
  18. Yeah, it's sort of the same here ofcourse, there's two party that is still hard against it. The Left Party and Greens want it to be put to a public vote, and then follow the will of the people. It sucks that Sweden stopped our peace time conscription in something like 2010, which to the end was a pathetic 4% of eligible people being accepted for it, so we are woefully unprepared right now. Atleast you have a decent army at the moment. I still think a better option would be to increase Swedish defensive spending and have an alliance between us. That said, I'd respect Finland for joining NATO, you have better reasons than Swedes do. I honestly don't think Kanisatha is alone at all in his opinion of Sweden joining, I think NATO'd take Sweden in as the retarded cousin to Finland in a way, they already have full access basically to our weapons tech so they don't need us in NATO for that, and I do belive the military industry is lobbying for it, because we have to buy metric ****-tonnes of equipment to get up to NATO standard.
  19. Well, most polls point to about a 50/50 split when it comes to public opinion, but then again it's an election year so if the politicians think it's in their benefit... you know how it goes, refer to my signature and all that. Almost all the political parties went to election with promises to not join NATO, and now that we're tested, having just two months ago declared that we won't be bullied, they're folding immediately.
  20. No offence taken, and I do hope you don't take offence at my views either. I feel that Sweden in NATO would be a disgustingly hypocritical thing considering what our past stances are/have been.
