  1. Is that why they're the only good entries in the EU? Myself being german I think germany is quite a good entry in the European Union. Your mileage may differ, of course. *see's what you did there*
  2. This is pure theorycraft on my behalf based on two seconds of the trailer, but to give an answer regarding your dislike of playing Military Man, they showed the N7 logo on the armour of the guy who was operating the console which implies to me that you will be playing a marine again. This is even more theorycraft, but the trailer showed lots of samey people fighting after selecting a battleground, indicating not only more strongly that it will be a military game but also that it may be geared up more as a multiplayer game (the guy switching between images of planets could be taken to be the player choosing the battleground site). Pure theorycraft based on a pre-rendered video with zero actual gameplay in it, so I claim nothing to back up my musings and point out that I doubt very much that I will be buying it regardless.
  3. I think you are wanting Pillars to be a spiritual successor to NWN instead of to the IE games. Most people here wanted and even backed the game on the premise that it was built as a spiritual successor to those IE, myself included. There is the debate over whether it succeeded at being a successor to the IE games or not, but regardless that is what it tried to be, and those games were pretty much single-player experiences (though MP was included it was tacked on and didn't really work well, and isn't what was asked for in the original post). Now, if there was a kickstarter to create a spiritual successor to NWN then I would be all for it, and I wouldn't be opposed to a (separate) game series that could be set in Eora (the world of Pillars of Eternity) that is created as a NWN multiplayer game, but the Pillars series should remain single-player. I'd be all for it if you wanted to ask Obsidian to do that, but I don't think you should ask them to change the focus of Pillars, as it's kinda like asking to take someone else's toy away so you can have one which is probably why you are seeing such a strong negative reaction from some to your post.
  4. Something to consider: when they said use they may not have meant literally. I would not be surprised if it simply meant that whenever the character earned xp their weapon would also gained the equivalent increase in power (perhaps their own 'weapon xp'). So it wouldn't be literally using the weapon but rather having one equipped whenever they gained xp.
  5. The expansion is not being backed, those who backed the base game get the expansion for free if they chose a high enough tier or if they added it as an option. The expansion is being funded from the profits they have made from the game.
  6. Add to that both Witcher 2 and 3 were released on GOG, which already offered refunds anyway, then they would already have been impacted by this to some degree.
  7. Devil sounds a lot less like 'random serial killer' and more about vengeance in that description. Given the established style of Obsidian writing, I'm surprised that comes as a surprise. Yeah I was wondering where people were getting the 'murderous rogue' comments from when they were calling her a cliché, makes more sense now.
  8. Well the biggest draw of a fighter is its staying power on the front lines, so Constant Recovery is a no-brainer. The spell casters should be the most challenging; chanters providing vanilla Summon Skeleton should be good enough and allows all casters to have some access to a summon spell. Yeah I'm not sure why anyone would want armoured grace over constant recovery unless you had to always wear heavy armour for some reason.

  10. A kobold (or in the case of Pillars, a Xaurip) wizard would actually be rather cool... A Xaurip monk, with a mutation that causes them to be completely covered in hair, because any hint of hairlessness on a monk is obviously a cliche. Eder is very much a trope breaker, on the grounds that he ISN'T the true heir or chosen one... Make it so that he is also better with weapons than unarmed, particularly non-eastern weapons, and I'm there.
  11. A kobold (or in the case of Pillars, a Xaurip) wizard would actually be rather cool... Or a Xaurip bard named Dêh-kûhn. How awesome would THAT be! I never really got into the kobold bard from NWN, despite it being a kobold and me always wanting kobold characters. Dunno why, it was cute but it was missing something, some 'Kobold-Factor'...

  13. Hey, they used the term I came up with! :D Disclaimer: They probably came up with it independently of me, I just wanted to point out that I used the term in another thread before I saw it.
  14. That's not what I meant. Okay then I don't know what you meant. The background sound and music gets quieter for me but is still there during dialogue.
  15. This was a bug from day 1, just like some others that were never fixed. I never had it before patch 1.06 so this is new to me. Used to be fine on both my desktop and laptop, now both are having the issue.
  16. Assuming she is an animat, then she would need to have a soul, which would be the source of her power. The previous animats seem to do what they are told but we know that some people have moved their souls into objects before to achieve immortality and the animats do seem to have some rudimentary awareness so maybe she's a more advanced version or is one that has regained her mind. Complete theorycraft on my behalf, don't hold me to it unless I'm right in which case obviously I knew what I was talking about all along...
  17. I think he means that the sound has started cutting out due to a bug, I find that quite often the voice over quite often misses the first few words now for instance. At least, I hope it's a bug and not my PC falling over...
  18. Oh my, Sensuki thinks he's comparable to Wiki Leaks. Guess he really is a delusional ****wit. Sensuki, let's be honest, you leaked it before it was complete so that you could attack it before it was finished, because you knew your arguments would look pathetic against the finished article. You had some pity and respect early on for supposedly testing the beta, but you have destroyed it now yourself, and people see the real you. Think people are going to start ignoring you now that you have nothing worth contributing and are clearly just after attention.
  19. Think they should call it 'Cross-Classing' rather than multi-classing, since you aren't actually taking a second or third class but rather taking skills from them.
  20. I don't like level-scaling either, but if it has to be in there then this is how I would want it done. If I have invested the work to level myself up, I expect there to be a bonus to it not for the world to ignore it or even to give me a penalty: I should gain the ability to fight things I wouldn't normally be able to face and wipe the floor of petty muggers. Oblivion actually fooked you over if you didn't game the system in fact, though that was also an issue with it's levelling mechanic as well (basically you wanted to ensure you mainly used non-class skills in order to minimise levelling until you had gained full +5 bonuses to the stats you wanted at level up).
  21. Alright, fine, if none of you are willing to answer the OP's initial question then I will: I am this God person, or rather I am your God that you shall kneel, nay prostrate before and give me your adulation! Worship me now and pledge your eternal soul to me!
  22. Thanks for taking the time to explain something that must be tiring to have to go over yet again. One question: does it have to be Bioware to fix the issue or does it not matter how it gets fixed? Because if the latter I can see this being fine motivation for those who are not so fond of your posting style to make a mod (not me, I love it personally).
  23. *The Jazz peeks in through the crack under the door* Interesting...
  24. Well that is a huge relief ...but it doens't make sense that the government would want to him to print such a unbelievable story knowing it would be questioned ? What would be the purpose? I should have scrutinized the facts more closely because looking back it does seem unlikely Because it muddies the water. Because many people may see the first report but not the reveal that it's bollocks. The Daily Mail here often publishes 'apologies' for headlines it has done that were utter lies yet most people don't see them, so while the truth 'gets out' not everyone will hear it.
