  1. The money still goes into the games production. Not to mention 400'000 isn't exactly big at all for a game budget nowadays. Also yes, it does buy the donatoers a copy from donations 15$+.
  2. Already mentioned. Avellone has been typing fircely in his twitter about it (Also donated to Double Fine near the beginning) https://twitter.com/...!/ChrisAvellone Look at the "I'm down" tweet.
  3. Also anyone paying $15 is basically pre-ordering the game at this point.
  4. 654k..... Seriously Obsidian, put together a kickstarter project for a small turn-based rpg ASAP.
  5. Double Fine looks for funding an adventure game by way of Kickstarter http://www.kickstart...-fine-adventure They also nearly reached their 400'000 goal in 1 day. Interesting are also Avellone's comments

  7. No (On large world. It's really corridory) Yes (On interesting NPC's, though you should also carefully read the lore/dialouge that you get across since it fleshes them out quite a bit), Yes (Though the more "special" sidequests/humor appear in the latter half of the game) That's also why I suggest not playing the demo as its a really poor representation of the last two aspects (As its the beginning+you're locked out of several sidequests). The game's only ~15 hours though and is quite fast paced. So, the "grinding" aspect isn't really there. Make a decision based on this. But my personal recommedation is "do it" theres really not much to lose.
  8. Let us mourn the Chapman as we wish him all the best at his new Job at Blizzard Entertainment http://www.linkedin....ofile_name_link
  9. Bugged me too but you are probably reading too much into it. Also, welcome to the forums.
  10. It's IGN though. And well, looking at their rating box really turns me off their opinion. Personally, I have no doubt thats its going to be a really good "game". I'm also already sure it's going to have a lot drawbacks too. Will definitly buy it though.
  11. The Game is unannounced. Speculation is the only thing we have.
  12. By the way, I don't know if this has been pointed out yet. But isn't the new forum similiar to Bethesda's? Is Obsidian using the same forum software?
  13. Also, to give you an overview about Obsidians current projects. First off: Obsidian codenames their projects after the order the states joined the Union. Secondly as of Dungeon Siege III/New Vegas there were 9 games they started. And last: DLC's don't count. (Expansions do) Virgina (10th): We know next to nothing about it. New York (11th): South Park North Carolina (12th): Sawyer's project Thats what we know so far regarding Obsidians current game projects. We haven't heard ANYTHING about the WOT project since it was announced. Ofc still take it as speculation. Could turn out completly different. For example its entirly possible that the XBLA RPG turns out to be Sawyers project.
  14. Edit2: This line doesn't refer to South Park but to an "Original XBLA RPG" in the context of the interview. South Park isn't XBLA nor is it original.
  15. On the upper left click on the symbol for "basic view"
  16. I quoted it on the last page +Several devs hinted strongly to it.
  17. Furthermore, we can conclude that the Wheel of Time project doesn't seem to have started "full development" as of december? (Don't know exactly anymore) 2011. We can conclude this because of: -Obsidian's code names: F:NV was Obsidian's 9th started game, Virginia (which was a cancelled or put on hold XBLA game) was 10th, New York is 11th (which is the SP RPG) and North Carolina (Sawyers) is 12. -Meaning they are working on 2 projects at the moment. According to a tweet by Chris Avellone in early december? 2011 they are working on two projects (SP and NC). Not on three. Of course, it could suddenly turn out that Virginia has/had the WOT license. Or something else (like the WOT project not having an Obs project but that would not explain the 2 projects comment). It's speculation here anyway based on the few pieces of information we get. Been wrong before.
  18. The Board has changed. Did war now too?
  19. Yep, you are right they weren't just sitting around. For example they did the DLCs and some helped on DS3 and who knows how many of that team transferred to South Park team. I think it was Anthony Davis who wrote something about FNV and DS3 being the main reasons they got this project, since they could show how much it would cost them to make the game with Onyx and all that stuff. DS3 was finished some time last spring. To be able to show publishers both the finalized product (DS3) and the budget/resources it took for them to finish it, the game needs to be out. If we follow that logic that would mean the contract was signed last summer/fall and that's when full development most likely started. Davis didn't actually say that. He didn't use the word "since" and so on but both of these things were seperated. That Feargus Interview was in February 2011. Also if it actually turns out that SE is the publisher the DSIII comment makes perfect sense too. That said the majority of the project team was likely formed after DSIII and the FNV:DLC's.
