Double Fine Kickstarter has ended. All praise to it and schaefer for everything that has happened in the last 30 days.

They hired the old Wasteland team back specifically for this game. So, yes. In technical areas their games have been decent enough.

And what has that to do with which engine they are using? (Edit: That is, if I haven't misunderstood you) Maybe they implented DX11 support in Onyx (we know not really a lot about the engine in the first place).

It also seems to contradict a lot of what we heard before. Like Avellone talking about future Onyx titles and especially Anthony Davis talking about how Dungeon Siege III and its development were responsible for getting that contract.

Played the game and finished it. Liked it, but pretty much this. It got cheesy as hell. ... Then again... Mass Effect is a summer action/space-opera blockbuster so it was fitting. Good game. I just hate the recent buzz around it with people arguing that is somehow the magnum opus of videogames as a whole.

and Black Isle. Thats some serious communication issues displayed there. Fargo seems like a person that has good intentions but isn't actually great at managing people/keeping a close overview over the divisions/employees. But I guess, we knew that somewhat already.

That doesn't make it intimate or even remotly as WOTW was. Like at all. But I'm crawling back here. Wasn't there as it happened nor participating so my perspective is skewed to begin with. Wasn't emotionally engaged enough, I guess.

Well, no, it doesn't have what made War of the World's great. War of the Worlds was about mass, worldwide panic. This is about the reaction and death of a single person. It's a bit like the difference betweeen World War Z and Night of the Living Dead; they both use a zombie rising as the basis for a story, but one has a wide-ranging focus while the other is small and intimate. W....What? How was that intimate? And do you even know the original War of the Worlds broadcast? The only thing that rememberd me of was some random action/slasher survival flick. I mean

It's expansive too. You only see ~1/4 of the area I'm in on that screen and it plays smooth. It's an amazing technical accomplishment even if there are some really bad textures at times. But, why do great games have fans and emulators have texture replacement? Xenosaga HD Texture Replacement (Not finished. Just started yesterday)

Overclocked my CPU for another playthrough of Xenoblade. This time on the Dolphin emulator as opposed to the WII. The increase in IQ is tremendous.
