  15. Thanks. I had really high hopes for this game (too high, perhaps), and in the end, I enjoyed it quite a bit. The expansion in particular was noteworthy, once I played through the ENTIRE game for the third time because I didn't retain my "Endgame X" save (don't get me started on that design decision). I just can't shake the feeling that there were some major missed opportunities, and if Obsidian gets another go at this, I hope they'll implement a little more variety, allow for customization, and increase the length of the adventure. Thats a fair opinion. Its really nice to see well done posts that bring up issues with the game. DSIII had a few really good ones before too but mostly and especially in the beginning it was a lot of people just bashing the game. Though personally, the issues of the game don't bother me as much. (Not interested in Post-Game content as long as its not story related, only play MP locally and so on). But thats me. If you ever read Nathaniels Blog Interviews here and Anthony Davis post that it was rather low cost (for a full price product). You'll notice that a lot of it is also because it was a rather tightly managed project with a lot of things just falling "out of scoop". That said, I don't really think that was a bad decision considering Obsidians bad track record regarding fun "gameplay" and polish. It would certainly be interesting to see a DSIV that uses DSIII as a base and focuses on content/expanding of features.
  16. Its close to my favourite too. (Though I probably prefered a few games more) Was just loads of fun. Its not my favourite Obsidian game but its a fun one. Also, you are probably aware of that yourself but its kinda sad how much the games plot and writing get labelled as "generic" and "bland" without people even picking up on the slightest of its nuances. Seriously, after carefully reanalyzing it, the game displays by far the most "realistic" charachter motivations of any Obsidian game and in turn has also the plot with the most "morally grey" shades attached to it. Seriously, before the end of the spire there was not one moment in the main plot where I seriously thought. "Well yeah, I HAVE to do that because its the "right" thing to do" Aside from some minor nitpicks there is also two major design and writing issues. The main charachters/companions could have been handled a LOT better. Especially limiting the major part of original writing for them to side comments was not that great an idea. Maybe give them 1-2 unique quests. A few more NPC's that recognize each indivudally. These are just a few things that previously (even before release) were stated in this forum too. Thats also kinda connected to the second major issue. The storytelling. I know the initial idea here was probably "It's a dungeon crawler. So let's not shove the narrative in the player's face" Problem here is. You did too good a job at that. Yes, it has a great pacing to it but on the other hand most people won't actually bother to pick up on it or get involved when that part is locked away in side content. I think Anthony Davis even mentioned this in that RPG-Codex thread where he said that he probably has a different perspective because he read George Ziets sourcebook. Which I fully believe to be the case. Both of these are more design issues than problems with the quality of the writing. Anyway. Again, big probs to the team and especially to George Ziets.

  19. oO Weird thread. Just be happy everyday. Trying to ruin ANYBODYS good mood during or regarding the holidays is a **** move in itself (regardless of what you think about the holidays). (I'm Christian, I strictly believe that everyone has the right to believe what he believes in, and I really don't care about gifts. The greatest gift that Christmas gives me is getting together with my family, forgetting abut sorrows and regrets and just.... feeling happy. As corny as it sounds. Also, odly relevant http://www.collegehumor.com/video/6668356/...hristmas-movies
  20. But, but the internet tells me bugs didn't exist in console games pre 360.
