  1. Adding to that http://www.linkedin.com/in/chrismlang
  2. Its a bit off-topic (since the discussion seems to be very specific). There is one thing I do "pirate". Patches of Games that are restricted to Steam (Or to be more precise backups of patches) I just always have this feeling that sometime in the future patches for (then) older games will disappear from Steam. Having it as the only resource of them just irks me to no end.
  3. What can I say, it's interesting to see peoples reaction to the news. I see my incredible elaborate plan of making a comment worked. We just need to be more cunning to get these devs to talk to us on the forums.
  4. Not surprising. McMurry has been around the forums a lot these last days.
  5. This was mentioned as possible beeing the first screenshot.
  6. Josh Sawyer is Project Director on one. We know nothing about it and probably not for a while as it "just (few months ago)" started.
  7. Alice was developed by some Shangai studio. I don't even know the name of it. Yes, thats American McGee's studio. Wasn't outsourced. It's called "Spicy Horse".
  8. I hope they are allowed to continue the franchise. There are some immense set-ups for future games in DSIII story and lorewise. It would be really awesome to see how Obsidian would handle carrying-over choices.
  9. Yes, I'm sure thats why all the people who DON'T WORK FOR OBSIDIAN ANYMORE. Are thrilled with this game. Positive Reception so far from Ex-Obs guys (and girl) I know -Anthony Davis -Jean Eric-Khalife -Tess Treadwell -John Gonzalez Yes, I'm absolutly sure they are thrilled by their non-existant pay-checks. Totally.... NO You could say the same bull... about EVERY Obsidian Game so far. They were ALL partly made because of money. Of course, you can just keep deluding yourself....

Did you work on South Park before you left?

Or on the other mysterious project that may have Sawyer as a Lead?

  13. Isn't that pretty much the usual Obsidian's dev cycle with maybe the exception of Fallout: New Vegas and Dungeon Siege III? They didn't have to deal with two mentalists who think they can change the game overnight. Seriously though, I don't think its going to be a pleasant dev cycle, I could be wrong, The Obsidian guys have publicly stated their internal learning, all seems sensible, so provided they can keep up with the crazy train, it may in fact be okay. The real shame is that South Park, hasn't really been funny in years. From Anthony Davis
  14. From Anthony Davis on the codex Solidly B. Zane and others proved VERY early that we could visually hit the target they wanted, which was to make the video game LOOK like a TV episode. From camera, to content. It's actually pretty amazing to work Matt and Trey, as well as the people who work on the actual TV show at SP Studios. You have know idea how cool it is to write some dialogue for the kids, and then get audio from SP Studios for those lines. Their team at SP Studios actually provide US with concept art too. They are just a great gang to work with, very funny too obviously. SP can be very topical, which indicates how fast they work and often they can change gears for TV. They really are professionals, and they understand that TV and video games are two different mediums with two different development processes. They understand that they can change the topic of this week's TV show on a dime for some breaking news event, but that same mode of operation doesn't work in video games. Video games that focus on topical humor don't tend be topical when they are released due to how long it takes for video games to be developed. And another example of Avellones superiority
  15. Already posted in the other thread. Also how do silent protagonist, 2D and factions scream all that "mass-accessible" to you? Could be worse.
  16. Yes, you can on both of them (Especially House MD). Depends on HOW you do it.
  17. Avatar in conversations here refer probably to Avatar: The Last Airbender, the Nickelodeon cartoon, which probably would have a bigger appeal than South Park : fantasy setting heavily inspired by Asian mythology and legends, with a touch of steampunk, cool-looking abilities and powers, a broader audience (as the chant says, from 7 to 77), a huge success, etc. Although I wonder how they would have made the choice of gender or 'bending' work if we played as the Avatar, seeing that if we stayed with the show's 'canon', there would be at least one generation between each choice. You may be overestemating Avatar:TLA here. Strongly. Its a big IP, true. Nowhere as big or well known as South Park, though.
  18. OT: David Hoffman left Square Enix according to a tweet. This is rather disappointing and could affect DS future immensly. http://twitter.com/#!/Thehoff0/status/142274768077459456
  19. Looking over it again I still don't get who works on what (It's confliting information). I hope this gets cleared up along the road.
  20. Its 2D as mentioned mutliple times now. Anyway, we DEMAND now that MattMcLean writes on the forums or at least does a dev interview!!!!!
  21. Thanks WUE! You're fast. EDIT: Anyway, he ain't working on it. k Will be interesting to see who else is working on it. Doesn't seem to be that big a team. Most interested in the design team. Fenstermakers already a +.
