They aren't fightin' words. Its just different people appreaciating different things. Also the game looks so good because the graphics were MADE for that angle (Similiar to how other games with fixed angles use it). If you would actually pan it around eveything would look wrong/much worse. To give an example: You see his low texture weird looking legs compared to his high res upper body? Theres countless other stuff like this. The entire gamedesign and artdesign is based on that angle. I'm not trying to be an ass here or oppose everything you say. I'm just wanting to point out why this wouldn't be a good idea for a varity of reasons. Has nothing to do with closed-mindedness.

Fallout is a setting. You can do everything you want in a setting as long as its well explained and works inside the setting. The problem with much of the Fallout 2 stuff was that it didn't really make sense inside the setting/not explained or downright contradicting. Thankfully, Fallout NV doesn't really suffer (much) from that nor does Old World Blues. So cut the DLC some slack. ESPECIALLY, because its damn hypocritical when you at the same time love/like Mask of the Betrayer and KOTOR2. Do these two games represent their settings "style"? No, both of them switch the setting on its head and play with it.

Hate to be the guy who points out random crap, but, that is NOT on topic and DS3 is mentioned once in the first three pages and the article has nothing to do with this topic at all. It's not a review, it's an interview that mentions DS3 in a passing glance and really just focuses on SquareEnix USA's business strategies. OT=Off Topic

I can answer this one. John G. wrote a good part of Anjali's dialogue, and he did an overall polish pass on many of the side-quest NPCs in the game. Travis wrote most of Reinhart's dialogue and about half of Katarina. He also wrote a lot of side-quest NPCs like Leona, the Gunderics, Drakomir, Fitch, etc. The remainder of the side quest dialogue was written by the respective area designers. I wrote the main plotline dialogues (Marten and Odo, Dapper Gent, Meisters, Jeyne, archons, etc.), plus most of Lucas and some of Katarina. Ahhh, I got at least Travis Stout on Reinhart right. Though it makes sense this way. I really liked Travis contributions so props to him for that. By the way, will we see Travis Stout (and Fenstermaker) in a Lead Writing Role in the future in a Obsidian game? Because these guys do a lot and are both promising writers.

Answering Community Questions on the Obsidian Blog
C2B replied to Nathaniel Chapman's topic in Obsidian General
George Ziets did. Its pretty common knowdledge. -
Theres actually several here that praised the dungeons. It was one of the more present positive points I encountered. And actually I found them to be on the better side of Obsidian dungeons (at least far above NWN2s horrible designs (No offense @ Obsidian) Just sayin' For me: What parts of the game did John Gonzalez and Travis Stout write ( I know Ziets wrote the vast majority). Did Gonzalez write something in Stonebridge? Theres some stuff that reminded me of his style. Is the DLC still in production? And a completly standard question. Why did you decide to enter the game industry in the first place?

That and "generic". You don't really have to know anything or about books/art/and so on and you are always right since nearly everything has been done before in one way or another. Hell, you don't even have to fully experience it like Morgoth elegantly demonstrates here. Also Shooters get just as much critizied for their length/pacing than other games. Theres no "perfect balance" for everyone to enjoy. The reason Shooters sell more than Rpgs is easy. It's the same reason there are less D&D Nerds than there are Gun Lovers on this planet. Everyones favorite activity is to shoot things.

As a question in general.... Depends on the game really. Specifically regarding "bigger" rpgs I often feel that you could cut a lot of stuff from them. Like that one boring dungeon crawl or those 20 pointless fetch quests (that don't even have a interesting backstory). RPGs in general are horrible at pacing. But thats me, of course.

Theres a LOT of english words like this that have become everyday speech in other languages. Mostly for no real reason, though.

It got a lot better since keybinding is in for your personal preference. Still the game was concepted towards the console controls so its still "better". Though, I would highly suggest getting a 360 controller anyway. Its an awesome gamepad.

Thats always the question. Looking at the competition (titles that started around the same time) it still did fairly well though (I mean SOTD only ~26 or something). Everyone probably burned their money on June/early July purchases. It definitly wasn't a hit though. Hopefully the japanese sales will contibute some for it.

Because of the savegame problem? Theres not really a direct contact and they don't have a community manager (anymore) so your best bet on the contacting way is probably Square Enix regarding DSIII. Though, try to write Nathaniel Chapman or Alvin Nelson here in the forums a PM. Don't await an answer though till sometime next week of course. I don't really think they work sundays.

Nope (AFAIK), what are you problems with the AI Companion if I may ask?

What would you like to see in a Dungeon Siege IV?
C2B replied to C2B's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
You know your whole reasoning and at the same time praising Obsidians older games doesn't make a lick of sense when you can attribute the same critisisms to said games. (Especially Alpha Protocol which you seem to like) (And I'm saying that as someone who absolutly loves every Obsidian game) Short answer and what you are in particular Also I opened this topic to state and discuss what people would like to see in a Dungeon Siege IV. Not for you to just misuse it again like you did other topics. Thats why I'm now gonna ask Tigranes to remove all the posts regarding this whole drama in this topic (naturally that includes this post) -

Thanks! -
Sorry but Diablo and all of Blizzards Franschises are not that well written at all. Theres usually a ****load of lore to it, but aside from the setting (which is admittingly pretty cool for games) its bog standard, boring stuff with virtually no depth to it. Not to mention copied from other sources. A lot. I enjoy it and its not really that "bad" either. But its not anywhere near something remarkable.

What would you like to see in a Dungeon Siege IV?

Oh, ok. What I liked about DSIII was that the companions also interacted with the NPCs at times. I hope they build up on that too. -

what's max lvl for a char?
C2B replied to ruserious2008's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
I didn't reach 30 on any of my runs. Lowest was 26. Highest 29. That said sometimes I was skipping enemies when I had to refight them. (For example between the two archons in the spire.) -
So.. first you're mocking Morgoth for wanting/predicting a single console future, because you like variation, and then you go on to say you like exclusives because you enjoy focusing on specific hardware? Do you need a minute to think this through, Nightshape? I don't really see the contradiction. Maybe he works one game for the xbox and one game for the ps3. Due to the difference between them developing game xbox is different than developing game ps3. Variety. I think Nightshape makes good points and I wouldn't want a single console future either. Removing competition out of anything is always a rather bad thing too happen. Though sadly it happens often in this industry.

Agree on all these points (and somewhat on the one I left out). Except if Obsidian does do persistent Multiplayer also do content for it so that its worthwhile. -
