  1. I was referring less about the actual DA2 quality of interaction (though I actually enjoyed it), than I was about that kind of thing, where you have the opportunity to talk to, learn about, and even undertake a quest or two for those companions. IMO, they feel a lot more fleshed out the more you get a chance to have dialogue with them. DS3 was good in the way it integrated the companions into dialogue in various scenes, but it fell short, IMO, when it came to actually giving you a chance to get to know them better. I also think the game was screaming for a personal sidequest for each companion. One of my favorite parts of an old Obsidian game was the party interaction in KOTOR II. Learning about those traveling with you, expanding on the lore around them and their backgrounds, ranks up there among my favorite features from that game. That's one area where I think DS3 dropped the ball. It didn't drop the ball, it's an action RPG, not an RPG like KOTOR. The emphasis is on combat and loot, not character interaction and quests. Btw, another thing I'd like is to have the mini-map be a different color for the paths you've already visited, otherwise it's impossible to explore areas with lots of interconnecting paths and know if you already explored there or not. I wouldn't say that. The games pretty much a hybrid between the two.
  2. Euclideon. The guys behind that "Unlimited Detail" thing from last year are back with a presentation video. Either they are just incredibly dedicated to a fake or there is actually something behind it. No idea myself, though I doubt it hard.
  3. SED (David Hoffman) tweet teases about two projects Square Enix projects announced soon. The article speculates that one of them could be a DSIII DLC but its really too vague a tweet to say anything http://www.siliconera.com/2011/07/31/squar...s-two-projects/ Edit: Didn't check the last page. I fully agree that conversation between the player charachter and the companions is pretty low in DSIII. Though actually party interaction has been done better before too than in DA2.
  5. Yeah, I didn't particulary enjoy Dragon Age 2s party interactions (for a varity of reasons) but the amount of it in DSIII was rather disappointing. What I liked though was when they sometimes interacted with the NPCs (Especially Anjali was great there). Thats something that a lot (most) crpgs do not have and I hope they would do a lot more (and in other future games too) of that and other interactions.
  6. Finished both Heavenly Sword and Enslaved. Both IMO underrated games. Really liked them. Though I definitly liked Heavenly Sword better. May be weird but while Enslaved had definitly the better gameplay Heavenly Sword incredible orchestrated plot grabbed me more. They scaled back on that in Enslaved and the disappointing and rushed ending didn't help.
  7. I just want to know what this line of posts has to do with DS 4? Nothing. But there is a bigger history behind this over multiple threads. And making a statement like "The Devs are lazy/don't work hard enough" (the moment actual people get insulted) while not having the slightest idea how that enviroment actually works will provoke an reaction. Otherwise yeah, you are right we should get back on topic.
  8. Yep. Just decide not to go after Jeyne already and the questgiver is the meister on the far right.
  9. Fable not the same as DSIII. We don't really how hard it would be in the end. Granted the change from a shared camera is big but you could still improve the camera in different ways.
  10. No, thats the one I talked about before. You go to the perpetrators (or their children) of the crimes against the legion from 30 years ago (when they were murdered by the stonebridge citizens) and decide if you to charge them/let them go/go for compensation. You get it after you did the Stonebridge Questline.
  11. +1 on shared camera too. It works in local but in online its pretty bad. Looking at the game I actually think it would have been better to cut the half baked online mode. As a couch co-op game its tons of fun. In online there are a lot of annoyances. Its still fun if you can co-ordinate each other otherwise it gets reallly annoying.
  12. Can you list all the quests you have done? I know its a little much but it lets me crosscheck it to look if you have missed one.
  13. No I do it because of my own values. Yes, I have problems when someone insults an industry with "They work not hard enough" especially when said industry constantly gets press about how much they are overworked. And I'm sure as hell going to call you out for it. And furthermore. In the past month you have constantly hijacked threads and complained as loud as possible and at every oppertunity regardless of the threads intention (As in this case). Don't be surprised if people rush to Obsidians/the games/the industrys defense. Especially on an internet forum. Just as you rant against the game we can rant against you.
  14. Nice job changing the topic and trying to look smart doing it. You're not. Also at least the bolded part is proofable false. I usually find people online and at least on Steam it still averages 800-1000+ players at any given time a day. Not all playing online of course but there are still some players on. http://store.steampowered.com/stats/ Edit: I also never even remotly said that DSIII was a sales hit (though I hope it wasn't a real flop) or that it appealead to everyone. Thats never the case on any given title and especially by titles of certain devs/gernes.
  15. They are already working harder than you could ever imagine. Also just because you like/love your job doesn't mean you love that job so much that 100% of your life should be dedicated to it. And that they should be thankful and not complain when it is. Many Actors/Athletes/Musicians and so on love their job too. Yet their job still can break them down just like everyone else. You don't even remotly know how it is to work hard anyway from your posts. P.S Also like it was said before. These things you like the devs to "add" are maybe uninteresting to other people in favor of other things.
  16. They should do a lot more with the concept both mechanically and narrativly. Its one of the things that was a little disappointing to me. I didn't expect completly different stories from the get-go, but a world that reacts differently on the several charachters. Some of that was there but it wasn't really fleshed out.
  17. Are you 12? Because it sounds like you don't even remotly know what a real job can require of you and how the industry works. That people have it worse in other situations is a given. Everywhere. That doesn't make it suddenly right or wasy in all other situations. Also, I'm now going to tell you something that may come as a shock to you. The world doesn't resolve around you. The world doesn't care **** about you. You ever thought about how different people can enjoy different things? And that maybe you don't hold the book on game design? And that its not always possible or even advisable to do EVERYTHING. Like you seem to think is such "easy" work. P.S I would like to see YOU as a low level worker in a gaming company. Will be interesting to see if you would like developing games so much if you went through the industry crunch. P.P.S Just mentioning. I'm a farmers boy and currently a part-time office worker. Both of these have different pros and cons. Its all about the conditions you work in. My part-time job already threw me in situations that exhausted me more than farm work ever did. And the place I'm working in is actually something I very much enjoy too. P.P.P.S People should of course always try to do better things. Thats progress. Doesn't mean you can do it regardless of the consequences or that there is only one way to do said progress.
  18. Considering all the things that are coming out regarding developer crunch and work conditions in the video game industry. You are a complete self absorbed and entitled moron. "Make games for a living" isn't an argument. Its great to do what you like. Doesn't mean its easy. And yes, you can totally take this as an insult and report me for it.
  19. He isn't grumpy in his writing. At all. Chris Avellone usually has a humorous way to express his "hate". That has always been the case even before OWB. The original Planescape Document doesn't read really serious at all. Father Eljahs commentaries are no exception. The " That thing on your wrist" line for example made me chuckle too if you know the context.
  20. As much as I loved the original Red Faction, the second game was such a disappointment that I wrote off the franchise back then. Then I bought some bundle from Gamersgate one day, to get the third installment (Guerilla, which I've yet to play), but I didn't even know that there was a fourth game?!? Guerilla is probably the best game in the series. You should play it.
  21. Nevermind. I'm an uneducated. out of touch idiot,
  22. Well, if they ever do a SCI-FI I hope they can use their own license.
