How does that work ? You just raise skills four times slower ?Or you need 4 times as many increases to level ? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It lowers the experience point gain by that amount. With that mod I am getting .25 the normal experience. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Does this seem to make the game more 'balanced?'

I've been encountering a very annoying crash bug while in combat. 75% of the time I fight with melee weapons or hand to hand, the game will simply CTD. I don't know why...all my drivers are up to date. I'll just have to go back to KotOR2 until this problem is resolved.

Correct. PNP has nothing to do with preferring the old style of CRPGs.

I'd say it's worth it if you're a collector. :| But I don't buy games to collect them. I buy them to play them, so for me, no, it would not be worth it.

Well, you can get more information or persuade people to give up items and such (quest related). Gromnir doesn't have to care if he doesn't want to. Practicing does increase your speechcraft skill, yes, but that's the name of the game. There were many times in MW when making someone like my character more helped complete quests without resorting to combat. Not saying it's perfect, but it does have some purposes.

I feel the same way. People are still in the honeymoon stage of playing the game. There are some bugs that need ironed out (and fast, just check out ES forums), and the game is basically going to be MW with better graphics and some better quests. I liked MW and I think I'll like Oblivion more...but I don't know what numerical score I'd give the game. 9? Probably not. The speechcraft mini game does achieve something, though it can take a while based on the order you choose and your speechcraf skill. took me a while to get it but I can eek out about a 10 point improvement each "round."

mods already, huh? I've run into a re-occuring bug... I'm fighting hand to hand most o the time and nearly every time I kill something with a big hit (critical or heavy attack) I get a CTD. It's annoying, but not so bad in that it only takes a second to get back into the game. Anybody else experienced this?

So I've got the game now. The only game I've purchased at full price in a LONG time. Must say I don't think I'm going to be disappointed. The game looks amazing and runs the same. I'm liking the combat a lot more, too, as it doesn't seem like an exercise in futility.

I like that they're opening a different studio dedicated to the genre instead of taking resources and personel way from single player titles. Kudos for BIO for expanding, as well.

I actually like the way Garret moves around in DS. It's a lot more realistic in my eyes. Where other FPS are completely smooth and instantanious in forward and lateral movement...well, that just never seemed right to me. But whatever. I've finally gotten around to playing KotOR2.
