I'm playing Doom 3, and while I like the gameplay and the graphics (sans the lack of light), the game itself is overall "meh". It's simply not DOOMy enough. There is a mod for Doom3 called Classic DOOM 3 http://doom3.filefront.com/file/Classic_DO...r_Windows;52163 Is this basically the Original DOOM done with the new engine? If so, I may pick it up. Are there any other mods for D3? I ask because of the strategically place MODS button on the DOOM 3 menu screen.

You guys are so gay for each other. While we're on the subject, how come there were no really different "races" of aliens in Star Trek. All Klingons looked the same, Romulans, etc. The only example I can think of is Tuvok, the black Vulcan in Voyager...

Yeah, then I don't think you'd enjoy the third one. Why would you expect otherwise? I didn't find it worse than the other two. I think it may be better (perhaps due to "newness") simply because I found it more fun.

I've seen it twice already. It certainly doesn't stink to high hell. If you're too attatched to your precious comics then you might not like it. As someone who is more familiar with X-men lore more than the average Joe (but I'm far from a know-it-all), the movie works perfectly. Did they take some artistic liscense? Sure, but you have to when you've only got one (hell, even three) movie to cram everything in. People are wanting/expecting WAY too much.

Sounds good to me. I usually take my time with RPGs anyway. And since I'm a member of Chronic Restarters Anonymous, I usually get my money's worth.

Finally I agree with Volourn. Supressing someone just because you don't like their opinion, which they state over and over (Visc, anyone?) is not cool.

Keep in mind that it can be a hassle to carry your fallen comerade's loot to a temple and spend money (should be lots of mone) to have them brought back to life. Or to use up a precious spell slot for a resurrection spell. Or to reload and redo the whole fight. Death shouldn't just be a knockout.

I do not like this "total party wipeout" thing. WHY THE FRIG would they implement it like this? It was ok in KotOR, but it was never used that much...fights were too easy. I much prefer the BG style (basically the NWN style) where dying means something. Leave the TPO in the JRPGs please. kthxby

1st Vid card I ever owned was a 24 MB card (can't remember the make/model), on an old 75 MHz computer. I thought I was the cat's proverbial night wear.

Yeah, BG2+tob I'm trying to start up another game, but I'm getting a wierd graphical glitch that I've not encountered before. I'm trying to run the game in 1280*960 since I've got a huge monitor, but whenever I start the game, the menu screens are all messed up and the mouse leaves a trail. The screen flickers and it appears to be displaying in 640*480. Has/did this happen to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it...or at the very least, how can *I* fix it? Well, it seems to work all right at 1024*768, but why wouldn't it work at the next step up? I've definately got the hardware to handle it.

These are good suggestions, although No-CD h4x are practically made for laptops...and filthy, filthy pirates. The suggestion about Apple products is especially good. PC laptops really aren't built all that solidly, most manufacturers just go "Oh hey, lets make a desktop PC only smaller!" and just get parts that fit in a smaller chassis without any mind for the abuse a notebook takes. Even with the utmost of care, if you're moving from class to class with it at all the poor dears rattle themselves apart. Best case scenario a couple of connectors come loose, worst case a fan busts itself. Though I've never owned one, I have a friend who's a certified tech for both Dell and Apple, and he swears by the newer (last two years-ish) Powerbooks. Says the things are nigh indestructible. Only bad thing is they're a lot more expensive. EDIT: I realized the No-CD cracks comment wasn't that specific, what I meant was if you install these then it only eats up amounts of battery more or less comparable to normal operation. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> My lappy has taken all kinds of abuse and it's still chugging along. It's almost three years old and has been drug from class to class daily. It's a Dell, btw.
