  1. My opinion is that, if Obsidian, or any other RPG developer ever attempts a Spy RPG again, they should focus on building a spy. Put different choices in how you develop an ultimately stealthy characters: social (disguising/acquire info etc.), hacking, traditional etc., drop stuff like the weapon skills and reduce and change the pace of the combat. The obligatory bosses were just the icing on the cake of something that really didn't feel (gameplay-wise) like a spy experience. That said, despite the fact that it was very unfocused and had some bad art, Alpha Protocol's strong points made it a very rewarding game. Plus, martial arts were cool.
  2. Gothic 3. It's Crispin Freeman I think, also Gann from Mask of the Betrayer.
  3. Obsidian has gone through a lot of different publishers. Since this is a decision that depends on the publisher and not the developer, looking at Square-Enix's track record with demos would be a better idea.
  4. Hopefully with the time it took them to release any info at all, and considering there's hints of Honest Hearts involving New Canaan and the Burned Man already, this should be choke-full of content and have more exploration. ...hopefully.
  5. Why should there be an off-switch? It's not like they're obligated to give their opinion or like the host can't just choose a dialogue option alone anyway.
  6. Uh, by the way, a video of one of the love scenes popped up on Youtube too.
  7. By the way, the battle music was already in the pre-order for The Witcher 2.
  8. Wow, you guys live in a magical world where bisexuals hook up only with bisexuals. Now your argument makes sense, I didn't get that you were living in a bizzarro dimension the first time. Silly me.
  9. No, no he's not. Listen, I dislike David Gaider's design philosophy and I think that making everyone a cookie-cutter bisexual is a cop-out, but you're putting things in his mouth to carry out an agenda. That's dishonest and I'd invite you to stop doing it just to sugarcoat what's essentially a knee-jerk reaction. Luckily for you guys, Geralt was straight in the book and it looks like he's still straight here.
  10. Bottom line is, you're feeling insulted because they're catering to a group you actively discriminate again. That's cute. I think it's more of the opposite effect, discriminating against Heterosexuals. I actuallly was annoyed but not offended until I read Gaider's post. To me that actually speaks FAR more towards a person being discriminatory (in this case...ironically, towards heterosexuals...and if taken the wrong way, even against homosexuals as everyone of the romances is BI instead of being one way or the other...great way to save money...not so great at appealing to everyone) than much of what I've read elsewhere. I can't actually believe he came out and stated that...that's a pretty big slam towards Heterosexual gamers. I guess that he simply wants them to go away and not buy games by him? That's typically what starts to happen when you discriminate against a type of person, they stop buying your stuff. How is he possibly discriminating against heterosexual gamers if the heterosexual romances are still in the game?

  12. I presume it's because FPS are maintaining the same core experience while shifting the design whereas RPGs aren't evolving so much as just changing the core gameplay replacing it with that of other genres almost completely. It wouldn't be so aggravating if there was still space for evolving and improving the mechanics that made pure RPGs.. pure RPGs. Also, you can sometimes dislike a change because, *badum-tish*, you think it's a bad change. Also, and I conclude, you hardly see people on this board being enthusiastic about the evolution of the FPS genre with the exception of a couple of user.
  13. I know you have a Bioware-hate-oriented sexuality, but I think he pretty much as a gigantic point with that post and there's little to nothing you can use to contradict him. Bottom line is, that straight male gamer is homophobic. And, dare I say, maybe you're too?
  14. There's still LAN/Co-op though, right? It's likely just that they wanted to specify that the servers are offline, because I can't possibly imagine a reason to cut features from DSI/DSII for the pre-order, it just wouldn't make sense. It does sound very lulzy though.
  15. True, they're going to mistake The Witcher for a LOTR prequel!
  16. No new character vignette. Good way to raise the anticipation for the game.
  17. Uh? I don't see any update on the site. Am I missing something? As for the character trailer, who knows at this point? I certainly hope they still release it, but they may have decided to shuffle the marketing strategy with the delay. A little more exposure wouldn't hurt...
  18. Preview video Those facial animations are REALLY bad.
  19. You guys realize the Destructoid article is from February right?
  20. Uh? Hunted has a cover system, similar to GoW or Mass Effect. Or is it news for you?
  21. I don't think hack 'n slash commonly have cover systems.
