I would find it weird. Then again, I've seen weirder. -

What the hell is "the help" supposed to be? -
Isn't Isabella the only dual wielding rogue though?

Call me back when you're not rehashing the "Obsidiz > BIO" "NO! BIO >>>> OBSIDIAN" again.

Something closer to Risen (albeit more polished). More based on having to find openings in your enemies defenses and with a slightly slower pacing. Action-game combat is perfectly fine, I simply don't really associate it with the "explore every nook and cranny" feel of an open world game, but that might just be me.

Of all the complaints, this really seems kinda petty. Thedas isn't Europe anyway, and if you really wanted to adhere to the language spoken in, say, Medieval England, say goodbye to anyone understanding the dialogue.

It's Jade Empire all over again. Can't wait for IGN giving it a 9.9 -
DSIII at PAX East 2011
WorstUsernameEver replied to funcroc's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
C-C-Combo breaker. Wonder if Nathan told them that, or they just came to that conclusion themselves. AP's development cycle is a pretty complicated one, that's for sure. Hopefully we're going to get some new videos relatively soon. -
Good riddance.

Not sure what DS3 has to do with this, being a fairly linear dungeon crawler, but I'm feeling slightly positive in a "fun smash monsters with friends" way.

Uh? I wasn't talking about the user reviews, those are more often than not obfuscated/polluted by the disheartened/angry fans posted in larger numbers than those that were indifferent/liked the game in cases so polarizing (not to mention that, as far as I understand, /v/ is actively trying to keep the user scores down). I'm talking about the metascores which are aggregates that take into account the many reviews published. I dislike Metacritic in that publishers put way too much stock into it and that its methods aren't transparent, but it's not like you can just discount it like that, it is important for the industry, like it or not (I certainly don't).

Was mostly talking about the action RPG crowd, which evidently has different expectations from casual co-op gamers. I mean, I understand the difficulties involved with a story-driven game without scaled content (then again, if the game is focused on co-op, all design decision should be taken while also thinking about co-op, right?) but at least a bonus or something to co-op players would be nice. And yeah, it's just for local, true, which reduces the problem, though, if people have a separate character for online multiplayer it makes you wonder what's so problematic about doing that in local co-op. But whatever. As for cut features, I was talking about Bioware and their latest design approach, shown with Dragon Age and Mass Effect and their sequels.

Metacritic scores keep going down by the way. Really surprised about that, right now it's even scored less than New Vegas (last season's big slam dunk). In other words, this game has been rated in the same league of Obsidian's sequels (Dragon Age II PC: 84, NWN2 PC: 82, KOTORII PC: 86, F:NV PC: 85). I haven't heard reports so, as for as polish goes, is this game better than Obsidian's usual fare (abysmal) ?

Could be me, but I'm not seeing anything worthy of hype in this game. Combat could be fun, but I really am not that interested in Diablo-like loot and God of War-style combat in an open-world RPG, the game is probably going to be fairly limited in the feeling of openness thanks to things like the absence of jump, I don't really dig the WoW-y art design (subjective, of course) and the setting and story haven't peaked my interest so far. Also the goddamn names. Do skeletons really need to have weird-sounding elaborate names like Faer Gotha just to make you think "WE HAVE OUR UNIQUE SETTING"? If you have a unique setting, surely there are better ways to show that than to give everything a different name.

Unlikely to be representative of the game, but amusing (found on NeoGAf)

The demo is really pretty stupid in that it doesn't really show you the meat of how the game plays. It would have been much better if they just dropped you in the city and let you do a couple of quests, but then again, it's a pretty difficult game to make a demo for in the first place.

Easy question
WorstUsernameEver replied to Sylvius the Mad's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
We have no information on the PC control scheme, but even then, there's certainly no such thing as an auto-attack. It's more similar to something like the console Baldur's Gate games, if that's of any help. -

Pets, Mules, Mounts, etc.
WorstUsernameEver replied to Magister Lajciak's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
No mule has been confirmed, I'm not sure if you can have pets though all the info released so far hints at "nope" but an ability from Anjali summons another creature (dunno what it is precisely), you can actually see it (I think, at least) in one of the latest videos from Gamespot. -
Definitely not. There are definitely some fights that will require figuring out the mechanics and properly using your abilities to overcome. I just finished my Hardcore playthrough, and there are some fights that absolutely require substantial tactics and very, very solid execution on Hardcore. Obviously if you don't want to deal with them being that hard, you can always play on an easier difficulty - but Hardcore is very fun if you like a serious challenge. If we don't need to eat and drink it's not hardcore. P.S. : Completely unrelated, but is Leona's voice actress the same one that voiced Vera Keys/Christine in Dead Money (and Lieutenant Boyd and many other female NPCs in vanilla New Vegas)? EDIT: This preview seems new to me.
