  1. And another preview. Screams of "I've read of this game on the Internet and I'm writing about it" to me though.
  2. With a little help by our friend GECK I managed to fix the bug. Must say, even with the wonkiness I found it a worthwhile DLC. Kickass story too.
  3. Finished the DLC. Obsidian being Obsidian, my character is now stuck with eroding health, even with hardcore mode disabled, even out of the Sierra Madre and back in the Mojave! Any suggestion on how to fix this, let's call it, oversight?
  4. I hope they release it on Steam/PSN too. Seems stupid to do otherwise.
  5. Buck has said that considering he has 2 games to preview + 2 hours of conversations to transcribe, he's not sure if he's gonna make it this week. So you may have to wait until next week.
  6. Eh looks nice. Now let's see how they screw up optimization in the next months!
  7. The first, in-game look at The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. http://www.bethsoft.com/elder_council_wallpaper/
  8. It's not 7 gig, that's just Steam being dumb, and if you're not as dumb as Steam you do the right thing and check the integrity of the game's cache so that it'll just download the DLC.
  9. Pretty much, yup. EDIT: Oh, you can check in your game Steam properties too.
  10. Female Hawke walk makes me want to punch people.
  11. Problem is, despite all the talk from Bioware about the tactical depth, going by the demo it does feel dumbed down. The feel of the combat really isn't bad or anything, actually some of the changes are improvement, but overall, it just doesn't feel like they've been improving on what really needed improving about Origins. It'll probably be a solid game, in the same way Jade Empire was a solid game.
  12. Just played with a warrior. It felt.. clumsy. The writing and voice-acting in the beginning sequence were atrociously uneven, the pacing was wonky , the new camera was, as I suspected, atrocious, and I still don't really like the new art direction that much. It feels like it's trying hard to be stylized but then there are assets that look like they're taken out straight from Origins and even the characters look like they're simply tweaked in proportions more than redone models. Combat was not as bad as I suspected. It feels easier, and it definitely feels like there's less of a choice in progression, but it also feel a little more balanced and the rogue feels like it finally has a purpose (though I really only tried Varric who was focused on ranged abilities). With the DX11 "High" settings it looked decent, though it had a ton of graphical glitches. Ran smooth too, even though the loading times even during cutscenes were super annoying (seriously? interrupting a cutscene in the middle with a "loading"?). Also, the first time I played it, it crashed after the first battle and cutscene. So, overall, Steam sale it is.
  13. But how can they track their one million downloads otherwise?
  14. Aside from the co-op news these previews are not particularly interesting so far. Since it seems improbable that we're going to see any new screenshots/gameplay footage right now, I'm hoping the interviews are more interesting.
  15. I must admit, I'm puzzled as to what the design goals behind that choice were. Granted, this seems like a story-driven action RPG but.. I dunno, it kinda feels cobbled together design-wise. Let's hope it works out well in the end.
  16. Yeah. For all the talk about scarcity of resources, I'm not really having trouble so far. Really just recruiting my companions though.
  17. That previews is very good. Assuming it's based on the new build, it seems they're still showing the beginning of the game. It's also the only preview I've read that was clear about how the combat system and character progression systems work, so cheers to the writer.
  18. I'm a Fallout fan with mild OCD and bitchy entitled tendencies that tends to go all WHEEEEEEE about whatever Avellone writes and then complains about it like a heartbroken girl that discovered her guy cheated her at the prom so I bought it. For now, it's good.
  19. Can you bitter bickering couple have a talk elsewhere? It's getting annoying to read for anyone who's not you.
  20. Italian preview. They show the control scheme, talk about the skill tress (4: Alchemy, Swordsmanship, Magic and "Training" which groups abilities not related to the any specific discipline, like deflecting arrows), say that the side quest shown so far is even more complex than a comparable situation in The Witcher 1 which appeared in the main quest, lament some problems with the collisions and variety in NPCs (a sizable chunk of NPCs is created by algorithms, and the results are not particularly varied nor nice according to them) and overall seem to be impressed by the game. They also have an interview with a producer. Apparently they're going the DA:O's route and using social network to show what you've done in the game, think that the other RPGs coming out in 2011 are not better just different (I wonder what kind of answer the interviewer was expecting when he asked about what weak points the game has compared to others ) They also talk about piracy and how they will know who downloaded the game and will be able to deal with most European pirates (something I honestly doubt, far too many legal ramifications).
  21. I don't really see what's so horrible in "forcing" achievements. Don't like them? Just ignore them. That's what I always did.
  22. Protip: grab a microphone, give it to the guy who can't sing for ****, put on Two Minutes To Midnight, PROFIT.
