New MCA blog post: On Project Directors and Lead Designers
Yeah, they only own the art assets. Of course, the assumption that they're making another game in the series, and independently too is.. well an assumption.

I really want to know what you're using. I've added a few things (and tried to force ambient occlusion through the nvidia control panel - doesn't work) but it doesn't look anywhere near that good. Take into account that it slowed down like a crawl using those settings and I used them only for screenshots but anyway: This is for the film grain. This for the contrast/saturation/color tweaks and other neat stuff. Some of its options (mainly the shutter speed and soft focus) kill performance. This one adds a dynamic depth of field effect, but it's kinda distracting for normal gameplay to be honest. It's configurable and you can turn it off anyway, so it shouldn't hurt keeping it in your load order. I also use these texture replacers (though I pick up only the textures that interest me out of them): Ojo Bueno NV Terrain Recreational Project (without the parallax-enabled meshes from Detailed Normals because in my opinion they just look awful close-up) and NMC which is the standard for retexturing of Fallout 3, and which, considering how many textures were recycled for New Vegas, covers a good deal of textures for the game. The guy is doing a pack for New Vegas too, but it's far from finished and it's going to take a while before it's out. Also, he tends to do ENORMOUS textures, so don't even think of downloading the full packs. They slow down the game to a crawl for little gain in visual quality. And to conclude, I use Nevada Skies URWLified for the weather system, but for some reason I can't find it on the Nexus right now (only the original Nevada Skies). They've put it under the option files category of the original mod, that's why. That should be all. This should be all, I think.

Dragon Age 2
Unless the demo has a miraculous effect on me, this went straight into bargain bin/steam sale territory. Good thing for me, means I'll have more money to spend somewhere else.

Gentlemen, never get caught up in Fallout: New Vegas visual mods. You spend more time playing with them and taking screenshots then playing the game proper, especially since setting them in certain ways kills performance.

I love how everyone's taking virumor at face value. If he was serious, he would have mentioned Drakensang or Divinity II.

On one hand it does, on the other hand.. makes me a little scared about whether they can take on them or not. Obsidz are not Bethsoft or Bioware. Their manpower is limited.

Risen 2 first screenshots. Looks surprisingly nice for a Pyranha Bytes game, hopefully it won't end up like Gothic 3. EDIT: Assuming they're not bullshots, of course.

That sounds.. interesting. Thanks for posting that Buck!

Yes, and I believe they could choose higher than standard difficulty, though the build they played was just inherently harder than the build you guys have seen publicly. I didn't really hear any complaints that the game was too easy You should change your titles by the way. It's been ages since we've known what "SKREEEEEEEEEEE" was

Wonder if great games refers to something else too.. But meh, could also refer to the other games they've already developed, I guess.

I just use the unofficial patch. It includes kind of every fixmod that is out there in the world. No. Unofficial patches have far too much crap crammed in that does not lie in any way in the realm of fixes. I prefer trying to control what ends in my load order as much as possible. Also this mod http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=40340 is really cool.

FO: NV (General Discussion)
I assume this is going to fiddle with my modded game. But I also assume I'll be able to drop a lot of fixes .esps so it should be good overall, as long the new version of NVSE comes out soon.

- GameBanshee preview and interview
So GameBanshee's Buck is going to fly to Irvine, California and have a hands-on with Dungeon Siege III. They're going to do the interview stuff too and while it's completely possible that at this point posting questions in their comments it's going to be useless (Buck mentioned hopping on a plane in a couple of hours and, nicely enough, the article was posted a couple of hours ago.. I was studying okay?) I'd still recommend posting some if you have them. I'll post the previews and interviews as soon as they're out (assuming funcroc doesn't precede me). And yeah, I thought this deserved its own topic. DEAL WITH IT.- FO: NV (DLC)
They've already confirmed that all the other DLCs will have a simultaneous release.- 2 important questions
