  1. No, I didn't. I'm saving money and if necessary I want to be able to cut this pre-order too (this and The Witcher 2 are the only games I'm going to get for a good while, and this one I'm mostly just getting it in the hope of some awesome Obsidian Forums co-oping goodness), not to mention the game is cheaper to pre-order than on Steam pretty much.. everywhere.
  2. No, I didn't. Did they add branching quests and stuff like that? Then it may interest me. I'm just not really interested in hack'n'slashes, which is why I was initially going to avoid DSIII too (plus I didn't have a lot of faith in Obsidian nailing the gameplay.. and in a way they didn't, since they changed it a lot shifting it to another style).
  3. I'm not going to contest that, if they took out the parts of the Dungeon Siege experience that were fundamental for your enjoyment, then it's sad for you. Going to note that I don't consider the first two Dungeon Siege games RPGs, though, but I understand the definition of RPG is somewhat loose and everyone kinda has their own.
  4. New Vegas GOTY was up for a while on Amazon. It's for all purposes a certainty, only thing I'm not completely sure it's whether they'll call it GOTY (since NV didn't get any award in that category AFAIK with the exception of the Wikia informal poll I think).
  5. People also forget that Chris Taylor himself wanted to take the series in a one-character-focused direction anyway. Not to say that people don't have a right to not like if a component that they considered the core of the experience for them has been taken out, don't get me wrong, but I don't think Obsidian is altering the fundamentals of the franchise. Then again, it just may be because I have no attachment to it.
  6. Btw, since funcroc didn't post it Veronica Belmont is going to voice three characters for Old World Blues.
  7. That's.. not how you use the word entitlement. Not at all.
  8. Shouldn't it be delayed because of PSN?
  9. Some very interesting info there. There's definitely stuff to be pumped up about, we just have to see if they execute it well.
  10. No. And mods mostly don't mess with mods, especially mods for stuff that deals with the main game companions.
  11. Unfortunately I don't think they've even started working on it yet. But why exactly do you refer it as MMO? Was there some news I missed?
  12. They did? Their reasoning is "Gamebryo was just the renderer anyway and we rewrote that so it's a new engine", and they're using mostly the same formats so.. it's just another iteration of what they've been using since a while. Sure, they may have rewrote a lot of systems and added stuff, but it's not going to be radically different. A lot of people bought the "rewrote from scratch" hype talk they used with GameInformer though.
  13. To be honest, I kind of agree with topeira on this one. Point and click sounds appropriate for a Diablo like that keeps the gameplay similar enough to Diablo.. but this seems like it will feel a lot more like a mix between a beat'em up, an action game and a diablo-like so the point & click scheme might not be optimal. Early feedback on it we've got so far (granted, they've surely polished it up since that build) is that the game is more difficult with m&kb.. which I assume wasn't intended.
  14. So that's what they meant by dynamic level cap. Every DLC has to raise the level cap by 5 so if you buy only one, it doesn't just raises you to level X but raises your level cap of 5. And yeah, the skill points economy will inevitably get ****ed up, but to be honest, I don't think there's enough stuff in vanilla to get your level that high, and for PC, in case I feel like it'll get too ****ed up, I just can slow leveling.
  15. Those scummy Obsidianites even made your Enclave Power Armor mod invalid. Such treachery!
  16. Lonesome Road sounds pretty awesome as does Honest Hearts. Not sure if I'm too excited about the idea of being kidnapped again in Old World Blues, but there's too little information to judge.
  17. After they've already said that all the other DLC would come simultaneously on all three platforms? Nah. They didn't say that because of goodness of their hearts but probably because the exclusivity deal just didn't go as well as they hoped, considering they had already done that for all DLCs with Fallout 3.
  18. It wouldn't be infuriating at all if they weren't talking about an announcement coming soon since.. what.. February? Maybe even January. And that's not even talking about the last post where they promised, again, an announcement coming "very soon". That was half a month ago. Now, I'm not even going to talk about whether it's good marketing or a good strategy at all, it's just downright disrespectful. I don't feel like I'm entitled to a DLC announcement, I don't want people to lose their jobs or anything, but that's very, very close to an unfunny joke and doesn't exactly endear me as a customer.
  19. He must have seen that funcroc posted this because now Old World Blues disappeared from his resume. Of course, he left Honest Hearts, despite that still being unannounced. Not that even the developers act like it's not a certainty that it's Honest Hearts and it's coming out etc. etc. anyway.
  20. New screenshots, mostly from the Japanese website I think. They certainly show a lot of variety in the environments and enemies. They also look kinda blurry and upscaled, probably from one of the console versions. Still wish they'd take the screenshots from the top-down view, which is the view the game is meant to be played in anyway (the game visuals really look as they've been thought for that).
  21. Four add-ons, including Dead Money are planned. Dead Money's the only one officially announced and published, Honest Hearts is practically a certainty given the achievements are already out but hasn't been announced yet, and after those we should get Old World Blues (news should come soon in the next Qore issue) and Lonesome Road (rumored to be about Ulysses, the other courier, whose mysterious motives have been foreshadowed in the game and in Dead Money).
  22. Ok... where is Worstusernameever?!? I'm here, I'm here, just rather busy. Quick summary: s'cool, looks open but is linear (they count it as a positive "no backtracking), cool hybrid combat system, dated graphics with interesting art direction.
  23. I was taking a break from the forums for study (and sanity) reasons but I found this thread from a Gamasutra news post, so I just wanted to chime in and said that this is sad and I hope the laid off employees can find another job soon. Hopefully, considering many of them were quite talented, it shouldn't be too difficult.
  24. That's largely because of the pre-order offer, and without the numbers, it's largely irrelevant. We'll simply have to see the reception and sales.
  25. Their whole relationship with Sega seemed to be such a disaster, much more so than anything else they've done, that it is hard for me to believe that Sega wasn't a major contributor to the whole mess. I wasn't present when they developed it at Obsidian, I don't know who to blame. Plus, despite its flaws, I personally enjoyed the game quite a lot. But you can't deny it's going to be much more prominent in Obsidian's portfolio compared to SEGA's.
