One thing I don't understand is: Dragon Age II has a low Metacritic score for a BioWare title, but an overall respectable one (a quick check for Alpha Protocol and Dungeon Siege III can show some much worse ones), yet Legacy has been pretty much panned by most major publications and has a fairly low Metacritic score. Judging by the initial 7 given by GameSpot, Mark of the Assassin will do a bit better, but hardly as well as the main game. Now, even considering that the DLC packs are relatively small and that scores for DLC are generally lower than for full titles... how can there be such a disparity between what the press thinks and what the players think? I mean, pretty much everyone I've seen here and in other places that are hardly amicable towards BioWare, Legacy and Mark of the Assassin are sensibly better in design and quantity of assets compared to the main game. Do they simply feel guilty for giving Dragon Age II high scores considering the venomous reaction from fans or Origins? I mean, I'm hardly experienced in this, but usually, as contestable as its methods are, Metacritic matches the majority of players' opinions. Now I get the impression they don't. Weird.

Limiting second-hand sales seems a more likely explanation to me. that would make more sense if it actually prevented second-hand purchasers from making use o' the game. only Potentially limits the folks who is needing to play the mp aspect o' the game. spend how much extra money to develop, integrate and test mp just to limit a % o' second-hand purchasers? doesn't make much sense to us. HA! Good Fun! New copy DLC has been a strategy EA has been using for a while, and with BioWare too, just see the Cerberus Network in Mass Effect 2 or Shale in Dragon Age: Origins. Multiplayer is particularly hefty, yeah, but we're still talking about a small self-contained (for the most part) mode that EA also probably believes may increase sales. Again, it may very well be that you're right, I'm just not seeing how they could gather MMO-related data from it, since I doubt an MMO would have a similar structure and I think (but I'm not a programmer) that the network code would be pretty damn different too.

Uhm.. Gears of War-like 4-players co-op missions are hardly good feedback for an MMO, even one with third person shooter mechanics. Of course, I have no idea what EA/BioWare plans are so you may very well be right. Limiting second-hand sales seems a more likely explanation to me.

Properly Tested Protocol. A game that single-handedly rebuilt Obsidian's reputation. -

For now I'd just be satisfied if it worked better than with, say, Mitsoda. -

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!

The problem is that Hitman games, fundamentally, shouldn't play like what I have seen in that video. But maybe it's just the tutorial level and the sandbox levels and the complexity are still there. All the intro levels are like that in the Hitman series, so I think it's better to reserve judgement until we see some other levels.. Very Splinter Cell / Deus Ex though, although I kinda liked the takedowns, especially the "shhhh". Evil right there. That's what I said? And to mkreku: what? -

Look at this fine PC Powerplay cover. I daresay it has news on Mass Effect 3! -
After leaving it for a bit I'm having some good fun again with Darksiders. It's a pity the PC version sucks, it's a great little game.

I completed BS2 as a child.. I hardly remember much of it, but since I hardly was the brightest bulb it mustn't have been THAT difficult.

Yeah, I have one and it looks great while you're not moving. But the longer styles tend to clip into the back and stuff when you run. And others do not work if you wear a hat (you go bald...) Kind of annoying. I don't think anyone has really pulled off hair in games. Heavenly Swords gave it a good shot. Alice: Madness Returns?

The Perfect Setting of Fallout 4
WorstUsernameEver replied to Cutlock's topic in Computer and Console
Going by that logic, we shouldn't have landmarks in New Vegas and Fallout 3 either since Obsidian and Bethesda didn't exactly make an effort to make them believable. Concrete doesn't work like that. -

Modding Alpha Protocol

Sounds interesting. I'll keep it in mind for when I'll reinstall Alpha Protocol, thanks for the heads up! -
Sure it is, that's why the couple hours I played coop with the friend I bought it for had 2 CTDs, 5 memory leaks (I'm assuming that's what the cinematic fps drop and hold is) and 2 totally unknown graphics glitches, causing me to have to completely exit game and restart every single time. Got to the point where I just say 'fps again' and he'd guide us to a save spot. http://forums.obsidian.net/index.php?showtopic=58873 I'm sorry you had a bad experience but there's very few reports of situations like this and the majority of people I know who have played it had a good polished experience. Otherwise I could argue that Mass Effect 2 is a terribly buggy game and so is Half Life 2 (had problems with both). Furthermore, your original point was to ask a patch for the UI and camera (which do not count as bugs) so I guess it wasn't a priority?

Often. I'm not sure how often, but I did notice that they spawn fairly often after the last patch, and they pack a punch to boot.
