  1. I joined after NV was announced.. well long after actually but still. (and I joined to talk about Alpha Protocol to be honest, though talking about New Vegas is nice too)
  2. Not that I think it'll change your mind but I've to point out that no, if you format or replace hardware you're not screwed, since you can de-activate an installation from Uniloc's website. They also promised to patch the DRM out, so assuming they keep their promise, the only advice I can give you is buying it after they do. Sucks, I know, but the DRM scheme has been already decided, the only thing I can see them doing is patching it sooner if they see it is affecting sales. Well, this is the most uplifting post in this thread by far. I'll consider it. Hopefully in the not too distant future I can buy the game without any form of DRM. God knows I'm a huge GOG fan and always check if a game is on there before I buy it on Steam. Who told you "they promised to patch the DRM out" BTW? Their DRM faq. Of course, there is the possility of them not upholding the promise, but for now I'll just go with what they said.
  3. https://www.cmpevents.com/GDCAN10/a.asp?opt...mp;SessID=10876 Way to ruin the fun uh, funcroc, uh??!
  4. It's true that Obsidian's track record is far from perfect, but I've liked the game so far. The reason I'm interested in Alpha Protocol is what they've shown us though, not the fact that is being made by Obsidian.
  5. I'm just going to drop this here without comment and run away very quickly: Oh come on, now you're taking that WAY out of context.
  6. Yes and no. As Pete Hines pointed out (I was surprised myself to see him say something a bit deeper than the usual 'awesomeness here, awesomeness there, great guys' PR talk) while E3 is usually considered, as you say, 'the right place to announce new stuff' it's also true that, because of that precise reason, the multitude of announcements means that there's a big risk of your announcements being lost among the others.
  7. I think dogmeat should be the one who finally snaps and starts going on and on about existential doubt. Or he could snap and begin to talk like Gromnir : IMAGINE THE TWIST!
  8. On my way to gdc canada. Man Seattle is gray. From Feargus' twitter! Maybe Obsidian will announce something?
  9. I'm catiously optimistic about DX3. I mean, what they've said until now has been promising, but of course, I need proof before I believe into anything the devs said.
  10. A quite interesting interview on Joystiq. It's nice to see they're making improvements to the 3rd person camera too. Video interview with Feargus too. Ol' Feragus, I beg you, next time talk a little bit slower ok?

  12. Wasn't Slam Dunk the word for a quick deal with a short dev time and almost guaranteed success? Or, in other words, something about they complained a lot the times I visited the Codex?
  13. If the comments will make me believe that it's not buggy as hell and that is longer than 30 minutes I may think of buying it. Otherwise a cool idea that will stay on virtual shelves.
  14. Sounds like a normal shooter to me. Very polished and with awesome graphics (though we still have to see if they're optimized decently). The setting doesn't seem particularly impressive, it lacks personality from what I've seen, but if the shooter gameplay is fun enough I may even think of buying it.
  15. Quintorigo - Kristo S
  16. "I have finished the game with seven different ending already and still haven't seen them all." A promising comment.... he's finished the game with seven endings? He has time to finish the game with seven endings??!! Wow, if only translation were done with the same dedication here in Italy...
  17. I'd suggest waiting until the game is out since the information in previews can be misleading, as you surely already know working on the Fallout wiki and having seen first-hand how badly previewers can screw up with the Fallout 3 and New Vegas previews.
  18. Assuming that fans of the game would come here, considering the AP site links to an internal SEGA forum.
  19. Comparisons to Mass Effect are fine. It's reducing it to 'Mass Effect with spies' that's a bit jarring, since there are a number of key design decisions that set the two games apart. I'm not saying, Alpha Protocol is doing it better, mind you, simply, it's doing it much more differently than people give it credit for.
  20. I think that there's a thin line that separates half-assed implemented elements and element that are sub-par but fine in the context of certain games. Though I agree that JNPCS in Fallout sucked (not because they were underdeveloped though, but because they were a pain to use, simply).
  21. Another New Vegas preview. Another video interview to our favourite cancelled projects director Josh Sawer. And a couple of questions, dubbed in a rather generous way 'interview', to Chris Avellone. Cute how in the first preview they always refer to Fallout 3 as 'the original', almost as if it didn't have a 3 in its name.
  22. Interesting stuff, the ability sound balanced, but I can't really say untill I've played the game. The stealth standard setup sounds stupid IMHO, I really can't see any reason to take ranks in CQC with a stealth character, unless they're needed for a silent takedown.
  23. Uhm, what exactly the numbers mean anyway? The trailer is cool though. Even if the engine isn't exactly incredibly shiny it seems they've also took a lot of time to make sure the environments have personality, I applaud the effort.
  24. Pretty much what the location says, Italy.
  25. If you do a very action-y character yep, there will be similarities, but there are quite a lot different design decisions that make the game stand on its own from what we've seen : no companions, a lot of stealth mechanics and gadget that should make the gameplay much more varied, dramatically different story structure, non repeteable dialogues etc. It certainly is the game that most resembles AP on the market right now, though, if it were me, I'd describe AP as a mix of ME and Deus Ex with a modern realistic spy setting.
