  1. And apparently, the "main bad guy" has a rather illogical death/disapearance for no real reason.. The various comments on it does suggest that they tried to do something clever and innovative.. and completely jumped the shark..
  2. One i have to mention is Taris. While I'm not a huge fan of the world, I actually quite like how they manage to shift the atmosphere and ambience of the world between the Republic and Imperial sides...
  3. Although the possibilities of a reworking of Alpha Protocol in FantasyLand...
  4. Okay, well I managed to resolve the issue. Even though every checkup I was having it run kept telling me the nforce chipset was up-to-date.. When I manually double-checked it.. it wasn't. One update later, and everythings recognised hunky-dory. Anyhow, thanks for the suggestions.
  5. Wild Target. Bill Nighy as a Master Class Assassin pondering retirement, who suddenly finds himself falling for his latest target, a slightly kooky thief (played by Emma Blunt). Then ends up becoming her protector, whilst eluding the sadistic assassin played by Martin Freeman and sent by Rupert Everett.. Along the way they also pick up Rupert Grint's out of work youth who ends up becoming an apprentice... Of course, both the thief and the "apprentice" believe him to be a private detective of some sort, and all the while he's trying to kill off the other hitmen coming after them.. A nice little british comedy with some unconventional romance in the background.
  6. Nope, Not yet. Still subscription.
  7. Dammit, I like being an anti-social git at times. I don't need no steenkin co-op in my single player games...
  8. Thanks for the idea. Pretty much everything I've seen suggests chipset updates.. But the damn things insist they're the latest updates as it is. Guess I'll keep poking at it..
  9. Windows Vista Ultimate... 32 bit
  10. So yes, as a follow on from that.. I picked up a rather nice Western Digital 3TB drive.. but now Windows refuses to recognise it properly. My bios recognises it as 3TB, but windows insists on saying it is simply 750 Gb.. I've initialised it with GUID partition tables instead of MBR due to it being over 2.2TB in size, but natch, that does bugger all to do. It only lets me format it as a 750Gb drive. I've spent a bit of time poking around on forums and they pretty much do the "yes its an issue with drives over x size, that's why you have to use GUID not MBR..".. It's a wee bit annoying. Any suggestions as to what blindingly obviously approach I must be missing? Oh yes, and to confirm, I'm not using it as a boot disk, just a nice spare hard drive to throw things on...
  11. I think you might have me beat by a two, but I haven't done it in a few weeks. Gonna take a day off from gaming today, haven't been getting enough sleep of late. Knight's been gearing up fairly nicely all things considered, but HM battle of ilum was a cluster**** (with a PUG). Need the token from that one for the Redeemer which I absolutely want, so have to prepare to grind out a few times. I can now get headshots on all 14 guards and the target.. and get 13 guards and the target to drop in a way that hides the bodies.. Heh, I still haven't gotten around to doing the later flashpoints of Red Ravager, or the False Emperor. Let along the operations or trying out Hardmode Flashpoints yet.. I really should make that attempt. But now that my Bounty Hunter has finished his storyline, I'm going to push my Jedi Knight through Belsavis.. then onto Voss and Corellia.. My Sith Warrior was wrapping up the bonus series on Taris (i needed some extra cash there..) and then I can make an effort to finish off chapter 2 for him.
  12. My new Western Digital 3TB hard drive turned up , so I plugged that in..initialised it with GUID partition.. and it says it's actually 750Gigs in size.. Hm, and I'm running on Windows Vista Ultimate, so GUID should be working correctly for drives over 2TB.. I shall have to ponder on this. Sorted out the weeks supply of drugs and pills for my mother.. The cat has suddenly taken a turn from being aloof to being a needy meowy feline.. and I've got an assortment of things to juggle with as the day progresses as well.
  13. Well to be fair.. it wasn't strictly speaking going to have much appeal to the people who loved Syndicate. It was set in the same sort of themed universe, but going from tactical/strategy game to glossy first person shooter..
  14. To go along with that surge of religion in the other thread..
  15. Figured out how to shoot 10 of the guards in Hitman Sniper Challenge in such a way that their bodies are hidden...

I think it's perfectly possible to believe in there being more to life than meets the eye without believing in religions run by religious leaders for religious leaders. Which is a seperate issue from what I was talking about (or at least meaning to talk about). I mean, my mother is serious in her faith, but keeps it totally personal. She doesn't attend churches these days for various reasons, but she used to be just as happy going to a CofE church, as a Baptist, as a.. well, she recognised they all had different aspects but didn't feel tied to one as a central aspect of her personal faith. What I had meant to discuss is those people who go to worship and claim that the act of going and sitting their arse down in a pew and singing the songs is faith. The ones who don't actually seem to have a belief of their own, just as part of the mass of people together. The ones who are "I go to church, ergo I have faith and belief and am inherently a better person" regardless of if they actually believe in whatever brand they follow. Personally, I'm agnostic. I don't have the hardline athiesm, but I've never felt that sincere faith for any particular brand of religion / philosophy. That and I've studied too much on literature, history, politics and warfare over the centuries to have much security in large organised religions of any sort..

I've met a few folk who go to church regularly, and who say they're believers.. but you get the feeling they don't so much have a sense of personal faith in god, so much as a "this is what I was raised in, this is what the social group does, it's what you do, I go to church, therefore I'm a believer". It's that fine line of whether they believe in god, or if they believe in the faith (if that makes sense) that is just the social dynamic of it all.

  20. For those Wheel of Time fans out there, this might be something of interest.. Tor Blog : Revelations from the "A Memory of Light" Preview at Dragoncon
  21. Wrapped up the Bounty Hunter storyline yesterday. Hm, I have to admit it was quite nice to get that option to turn around and punch out Darth Tormen's lights after all his annoying talks. Although just killing the Grand Chancellor after he cleared my record was hella tempting. Then you get the "nice , cinematic" group view of player and all his companions gathering to pose in the ship, watching the Imps and Republic fleets shoot at each other...
  22. Eh, I have to say that I'm not overly stressed on wading into repeat end-game content. I mean sure, every now and then I'll run through some of the dailies to stock up on credits I can use to plow crew missions and craft stuff for my other characters.. and to add some character perks to new characters.. But I'm more interested in finishing the storylines and then exploring what the other classes show storyline wise. I just try to balance it out so I don't get burnt out. It's why I did Sith Inquisitor first, then focused mostly on my Smuggler, bounced to the Bounty Hunter... once I wrap this up I'll go back to my Jedi Knight to do chapter 3... then I've got my Sith Warrior to finish off Chapter 2 and then 3.. I've got my Consular at level 10 waiting on fleet, and a Trooper and Imperial Agent shiny at level 1 that I haven't actually played any of yet... So yes, my plan is basically use my "finished" toons occasionally to stock up on cash I can funnel to low level toons, and to use all to gather materials and send them to those with crafting, and do crafting of goods that can be sent back out to my other toons and thus.. create a nice supporting web-work whilst exploring the storylines in a mostly alternating style...
