  1. Yeah, I knew a guy who helped develop a companies software, maneuvered himself into the key position of handling it, spent a year with it and no-one else in the company could do his job, so he quit, became a "consultant" and they hired him to do exactly the same thing, but at twice the pay. I have to admit, I both admire and despise him for that maneuvering.
  2. Condolences Bart. I pretty much lazed in the heat, read, and drank tequila flavoured beer tonight. I was curious, it actually tastes like some shandy.
  3. This picture was posted on a website with this accompanying question; "If you were in a public place, would you feel comfortable with him sitting ten (10) feet ...away from your children?" This is the thoughtful response from one (1) of the readers; "I would gently explain to my children that while it is his absolute right to do it, I do not approve. Then I will let them know, in no uncertain terms, that if I ever catch THEM wearing brown slacks, blue socks and black shoes, IN PUBLIC, I will slap the stupid out of them." - Texas Mom

  5. I am tempted to throw this in the funny things thread..
  6. There were many reasons why Noel Coward wrote "Mad Dogs and Englishmen"...
  7. I went through a couple of dozen of them. They start off with some interesting bits, but then they really start to repeat a loop of somewhat racist attitudes and milking the semi-harem building in different points in time. While the first ten or so follow strictly chronologically, they then start jumping all over the place and doing parts in flashback which gets a wee bit annoying. There are some elements of nice history, but it does get wrapped up in a lot of stupid at points. Edit: Also, one of the first things that happens is that the Roman Soldier, becomes a slave next to a foreign traveller who turns out to be a martial arts expert from the far off lands of asia. So, he picks up Kung Fu around 50 AD.
  8. I hate those people that knock on your door and tell you how you need to be 'saved' or you will 'burn'....‬ ‪Bloody firemen.
  9. Not taking it too seriously, but you have to admit, the cracks between Democrats and Republicans do seem to have been growing more exagerated in the last decade or so. Makes me wonder just what the shape of relations will be like in a few terms and where the common ground might be found.
  10. Saw someone put this up...
