  2. Vampyr is fairly moody and atmospheric, slow opening which is a little odd in its ways. Or rather, it drops you into the awakening and basic combat intro, runs you through half an hour of that, then suddenly steps back into actually having choice and consequences and not having to kill everything. You then get story stuff unfolds as everyone you talk to has their own secrets and hidden aspects. Potentially interesting mechanic on the whole you can kill anyone for their blood, but it will have effects and quests will go missing, etc etc. Slightly weird that the vampires have to kill to drink blood, they can't just take a few sips and leave people alive. Also, personal annoyance is that its an autosave slot thing. So if you do want to test the reactivity, you'll have to do everything from the beginning again. (Well, unless you start copying out the save file and making your own backups outside of the game....)
  3. And in honour of Deadfire..
  4. I'm doing a slow meander on Deadfire at the moment, although with Vampyr coming out tomorrow I'm thinking of taking a pause on Deadfire and waiting for the DLCs to be out.
  5. I never really encountered that crowd, I only started lurking around here during the Alpha Protocol delays...
  6. I still remember Mythbusters looking into "dropped guns shooting" and how rare it actually was. The things you have to do to a modern pistol to get it to go off just by dropping it was a fair bit, so you have to wonder how that guy treats his sidearm.
  7. Okay, this might amuse a few people, especially those who are all GoT or WoT fans. I recently read a chinese xuanxia called Desolate Era - which is apparently hugely popular, but as written, is about 2400+ chapters long. The story follows a man who died young, but with great karma and who gets reincarnated but due to "reasons" his memory didn't get wiped. It then follows his journey to immortality and beyond over the course of an excessive number of years. The Chinese.. have now turned it into a tv show. Hows that for impressive? I'd say that's dedication. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osmmuo3duqM
  8. I know Wals is buried under workload, and has said he's unlikely to spend much time lurking on the forum on the little free time he has now, although he does occasionally turn up on Steam. Alas, tis the way of the world, even ForumLurkers evolve and have to juggle the mundane nature of life at times..... Edit: In fact, Wals has told me to convey his compliments to the forum and inform you all that he is currently deep within the internet, hunting Oby with a 577/450 Elenctic action rifle.
  9. Also, for the parents on the forums..

  11. 1 inch - Are you bloody kidding? 2 inch - I can't even hold it properly. 3 inch - Never been so unsatisfied in my life. 4 inch - I've had bigger. 5 inch - Good, but not enough! 6 inch - About right. 7 inch - Can't complain. 8 inch - So goddamn perfect. 9 inch - A bit much. 10 inch - It's hurting my insides. 11 inch - I can't take it anymore. 12 inch - I am absolutely f***ing destroyed! ::: And this is how I rate my subway sandwiches.

  13. I've spent the last week pretty much unwinding after wrapping up the university stuff. Now it's that pause for final grades and formal graduation in July. Got caught up on stories on WuxiaWorld, so wasting many, maaaany hours reading. Keep meaning to get back into playing Deadfire, but the reading distracts me, and I'm actually tempted to just wait till the dlc is out in September before properly getting back into it. Still, getting the mental reserves back into order and I should start prepping to do the job hunt soon...
