  1. Nothingness by definition wouldn't have a presence. IIRC, the consensus on the big bang is that there were previous bangs trough which particles consolidated and the Big bang was caused. So maybe there was something, after all the Big Bang was the beginning of the universe not of existence. Yeah I've heard that before, I didn't think that was the consensus though, rather the Big Bang was the beginning of everything, not just our universe, since the universe by definition is the totality of everything that exists. What the space in between them is still is undetermined. If we are ever going to find out, we need to do this step by step, and I believe the most important question on this matter, is whether the Big Bang, was caused, or uncaused. How one would go about investigating that, beats the hell out of me. You forget dark matter and energy, which can only be measured when it interacts with particles. Sounds like nothingness to me, plus there are new theories about the multiverse and what physically separates these universes.
  2. Some more info http://www.hplusmagazine.com/editors-blog/...ic-augmentation This Berkeley suit sound great, making cripples walk.

  4. Purely ex nihilo? I think that's impossible, there would at least been something there even if it was the presence of nothingness.
  5. Well, hello WWIII!
  6. It's almost like you're not even trying to make sense. The only time I've seen anyone else mention a drone strike aclu think is O'Reilly. Do you even know yourself; what you are writing? Fixed it.
  7. No country for old men sucked! and that's my opinion.
  8. Why does the guy on the left have breasts? You best be trolling elsewhere.
  9. Good thing that they failed, now we get to keep you.
  10. So you think that culture and history can be forgotten like that. While there will be a greater amount of shared traits, the idiosyncrasy of each culture will remain and the future ones will come from it.
  11. Dude you need to ease up on the 4chan
  12. Okay I get what you're saying, we shouldn't judge him from just this event as a bad parent. But he is a bad cop for doing it Unrelated advice: Don't alienate your children because of your views, sometimes you just gotta trust them
  13. But a unified world is what has made us more civilized. Culture in the ancient world was shared mostly through warfare but among the conqueror and the conquered there was communication that wouldn't had happened otherwise. What's more the less advanced would start becoming integrated into the world. It is the great empires that have laid the foundation in which the world stands today, now multilateralism is more important than ever. The world is becoming a multicultural society of it's own, so we need a world unifying culture. Its not an absurd endeavor.
  14. Well now I know, and knowing is half the battle The other half is violence Back to the subject. Maybe it's time we break down piracy to it's products, since they have different traits altogether and present different cases. Although I've been having a hard time finding a reliable study since most are incomplete. Anyone had luck?
  15. My problem is that there isn't much concrete information; there are definitively things that are beyond the reach of our minds. But since the nature of those remains elusive I prefer not to speculate much, same concept I apply to the Divine. Even though I am a big fan of mythology in general and it's archetypes.
  16. So it's up to the parents to oversee their child sex life and give her to whom they approve? Let's be reasonable, first their son/daughter's virtue belongs to themselves and it's theirs to give. Parents are there to protect them from bad choices not to make them for them, it's all very circumstantial. Had this been another family with a more understanding stepfather things may have gone differently.
  17. I didn't see casting time or cool down, but the PC was a fighter. The part I saw looked a great deal like Dynasty Warriors gameplay. Leaked german vid. May God forgive BW, because I sure as hell won't.
  18. Accidentally of course, as long as we do not take it like a source of reliable data. You are right religion does change with both culture and the times. In fact many of the rituals, practices and belief that religions hold today have been assimilated from coming into contact with different cultures. PS. Harvest has been ****ty this year, maybe we do need a sacrifice
  19. You are a sadistic person.
  20. It wouldn't be an effective way to determine it, since most derpaherp are going to scratch their head and say what's an agnostic? Or they really have not contact with people outside their religious communities, but this doesn't make them fundamentalists. Just extremists.
  21. OHhhh , plankton
  22. And the answer is an emphatic YES
  23. How does physics explain entangled photons? The university of Vienna has investigated the phenomena for years, trying to discover what makes one photon "communicate" effects to it's twin faster than light. There's no "communication" between entangled particles - that's a common misconception. Observing one simply determines the state of both - when you look at how wonky most quantum physics is, it's not all that unbelievable. It still doesn't have any relevance to FTL travel. Well, you sort of have to learn how to walk before you run faster than light... The beauty of physics is that we don't know it all, only what we have been able to grasp, observe and theorise about so far. I'm normally not a believer in anything, but I do have certain degree of faith in human curiosity. Not possible doesn't exist, only unsolved puzzles. That does not change the fact that we know enough to know that FTL travel is impossible. Discounting our current knowledge because "well we might discover that it's wrong" is simply an ignorant thing to do. Not possible certainly exists. What about Time travel? aliens could have one of those.
