And lose the cigar.

The Mexican cartels have military training and probably better funding than the Mexican government. In the effort to eradicate cartels they are winning an Pyrrhic victory, that is if they win. Part of the problem is also on our side since there is also a strong gang presence on zones close to the Mexican border. The situation does has some similitudes to Afghanistan, maybe not at the same degree of aggravation. Both are bound in the drug trade and the government can't do nothing to stop them.

Dexter. . . sic them.

*shrugs* It's in the same vein as the constant kidnappings in Mexico City, or the massive gunfight that erupted between gangs in Arizona along I-10 (or 19, don't remember off the top of my head) coming up from the border. Hell, even the history channel has had a few specials on the drug wars going on across the border in the south. Yeah I saw those too, they were on "GangLand". I think that they are the Zetas, IIRC. The ones with military training of course.
-
Most of the problems is located along the border in rural areas, because of the drug trade and the fact that most druglords have the government in their pocket plus military training.

There is one difference that makes Afghanistan worse and is that everyone can pull an RPG out their pocket. Seriously.

I need to start more arguments over the internet... Just keep in mind that by 'catgirls' he meant 'furries'. Now, if that's your thing, great for you. Most of us avoid internet arguments for exactly that reason. What's a furry?

Allow me to vent my fevered spleen: 1. How in God's name is it strange? It's a firefight we're talking about here, not a game of chess. Never mind the fact that we're all yakking about second or probably 15th hand reports. 2. The Muslim Brotherhood have been around since the 70s, and have been anti U.S. the entire time. They are also Marxist influenced and thereby dingbats. The fact that they have a big following is hardly news. So what exactly IS news about this? The article you linked to seemed more interested in provoking alarmist flapping than providing useful warning of anything. It's strange that they would go there so unprepared that they had no better recourse than a grenade. A stun, sting or flash grenade would had secured the room without killing the hostage, which was the mission. They completely failed regardless of what the situation was, whether they are responsible or not I still have to judge. There are a lot of Islamic groups around the world and I'm sorry to say that all of them are a potential threat. All that they need is to heed the call of arms that the extremist have been promoting, investigating these groups once they begin to show signs of aggression.

Seconded it.

Whatever happened to making quality games instead of just pulling some **** together and calling it canon?
-
What the Hell? Are we back to the Crusades with these people? I hope we begin some measure of intelligence gathering and undercover work on these groups. Maybe this time the president will actually do something.

What about the experienced game designers that embraced the change? Jokes aside, designers don't decide what's popular or what can make money, which is the one and only point of this change - someone thought this way DA would be a better cash cow. Nothing to do with creativity. Also this way its more easily adaptable to consoles, which is again the same thing - more moneyz. am suggesting an alternative reason for the consolized changes we sees in da2: time. da2 development is relative short, and many o' the streamlining efforts is intended more to save resources than they is motivated by creativity or a genuine belief that such changes will create more revenue. bio is trying to cut fat from da so they can get the game released Q1 2011, and if some stuff many o' us view as pc staples can be cut, then so be it. HA! Good Fun! They already had everything worked out from DA. Why not just tweak that engine? Nah, the final product was always Dragon Effect. They are just dumbing down everything for their new audience.

Or in the case of the Witcher, it's attached to whomever you want to screw. The points are also attached to confronting groups, whichever you seek gratification from is going to pressure into making the decision.

Low taxes, cheap petrol, AC/DC, poisonous spiders, poisonous snakes, poisonous jellyfish, poisonous platypus, swimming with sharks, crocodile dodging, whale watching, jungles, deserts, mountains, coral reefs, you get the picture... Try living in Detroit, buddy

They are free to make whatever games they want but I was promised a sequel to BG on DA. But know BW is RPGs for hipsters.

So basically BW sold their souls and he refused to.

Do you believe agnostics/atheists can be moral?
Orogun01 replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
Actually this is a deep psychological issue that pertains of our perception of "The Other". Empathy and introspection processes are in the same place, the most common process we use to empathize with other people is the "theory of Mind" we model ourselves using our experiences to think like the other person. When we can't relate to someone, all those processes are handled somewhere else in the brain. The separation of us and them is what breeds contempt and all the other causes related to antagonistic thinking towards "The Other" -
A) Before the Internet you had to get the whole album if you just liked a song, now you can get it cheaper without buying the album. That's loss of revenue right there. B)So did pirated games, except that there is no profit to be made by the uploader. Plus piracy only gravely affects small companies without many AAA games who rely on the few good pieces of IP that they have. A thousand lost sales for MW2 means nothing compared to all the profit it made. The 10 dollar project is another dead end just like buying DLC, they aren't usually very good. C)I'm not sure about those numbers, we already talked about how every p2p isn't necessarily a sale.

They do get revenue but is at a loss for them since most of it goes to the network, same case with distributors. GameStop sells used games without paying to the publisher and most albums are broken down into songs and sold separately by sites like Itunes. But a kid in some basement who uploads a game that gets an average of 100 peers is the biggest loss because 100 people getting it for free is worse than a company skimming your money. I can admit that it's immoral or that it's stealing, but it really isn't the biggest loss of an industry.

Wesker dyed her hair because blonde goes better with gagballs and mind-controlling devices.

They will find another ridiculous reason to still be Tea baggers? You think that there is any rationale to fanaticism? If they initial objectives that led them to launch an armed revolt are not met, they will continue to rebel. Every veteran of the previous generation is now an instigator trying to push the younger into their cause, frankly I don't know how much of a perceived threat is India to these people. Even if it's a desired truce; like I said before, they are just waiting for the right excuse to go back to killing each other. India or not once the peace is gone is gone.

There is an incentive on the companies behalf to look at their losses as due to piracy rather than because their product is of low quality. The just see the peer numbers in some torrent sharing site and they automatically assume that they are all lost buyers. Which is completely reasonable, as those are people using their product, despite not paying for it. Yeah, but is it a lost sale? It is more of a lost potential buyer, but from a business standpoint, that is the way they see it. When you have a product that is being used, but it hasn't been paid for, then of course it is considered a lost revenue source. Just like watching a movie on regular TV is lost revenue? It's a product being used by company that's freely giving it to other people, just how different is this from piracy? The pirate must had bought the product in order to distribute it. But you don't see the movie industry shutting down the TV industry because of lost revenue; are movies already out of the theaters by the point the hit TV. So this is a slightly more complicated issue, because it changes on a product by product basis. Is it fair to accuse someone of causing loss of revenue on a product that it's out of circulation. IMO there is a biggest drain of revenue by distributors than from piracy. But there is no formal case against them, no attempt to circumvent or modify the arrangement.
