  1. I don't think any update so far managed to be actually *on time*. Artists are still applaying finishing touches
  2. He is *known* to most cRPG fans, but he certainly isn't a celebrity. So that doesn't surprise me, but I'm sure glad he's involved in the PE. The problem I have with it is to get word of mouth going you need coverage. *Who is George Ziets* in response to these articles. And then said rpg fans explaining *Well George Ziets is that guy who wrote that really awesome game*. Well hopefully, the updates so far reach attention again, after today's. I think there'll be a lot more coverage after first screenshot is released - and George Ziets will most likely be mentioned as well.

  4. By the way, who you'd like to see as the narrator? My vote's for Rodger Bumpass (he narrated MotB). And another thing, would you mind if some of the sequences were text-only?
  5. 2.9 million - Justin Sweet's art ( http://forums.obsidi...make-portraits/). 3.0 million - A new class, bringing the total number to 12 (Inventor - focusing on firearms and various gadgets). 3.1 million - New major area.
  6. Can't wait to see the first screenshot (mockup?) today, we'll know more about the designs.
  7. From the previous thread : http://forums.obsidi...designs-a-plea/
  8. On the topic of armour & weapon designs, we'll supposedly get a first glimpse of the PE tomorrow - can't wait, we'll see the overall direction that that game will take (that said, I don't think there's any need to worry, judging by what we've seen so far).
  9. If Obsidian offers him a fair contract, I don't see why he wouldn't be interested. I can't presume to know, but I'd assume he'd be interested in a bigger commision like this.
  10. Your guess is as good as mine. But I don't see why he wouldn't want to be - I think he joined the IWD2 team on a short notice.
  11. Another piece of concept art released : We've seen a less detailed version before - I must say this looks very nice, I like the practical design; I hope that the rapier isn't just for show (looks great). So glad it isn't typical staff + robe wizard.
  12. source : http://forums.obsidi...40#entry1231523 In which case Justin Sweet makes perfect sense
  13. Yeah, it was discussed in this topic. George Ziets is now (well, not yet, but I think that's only a matter of time) part of the PE team, great to hear that. I'm hoping Justin Sweet is still under consideration too; I've asked Feargus on the Kickstarter about it - and the answer was that it's been discussed by the team. Fingers crossed.
  14. That's great news indeed. Now I would be rather disappointed if the game had anything less than stellar writing, with such talent present...
  15. George Ziets (http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60038-george-ziets-as-a-possible-stretch-goal/) + Justin Sweet (http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/60122-stretch-goal-hire-justin-sweet-to-make-portraits/). That'd bring in a lot of pledges, I reckon.
  16. I'd think that with separate advancement pools, that's much less of problem (and let's consider the fact that you'll have five companions with you); that said, as you've written, there were several not so useful schematics in Arcanum you had to purchase in order to advance further - that's one thing that could be corrected. At any rate, crafting should, ideally, be an important part of the gameplay - as it was in Arcanum.
  17. Going through his portfolio, I can't say I'm a fan - it's well done, but leaves me cold. I liked the PE wallpaper though, that scene was well done.
  18. Weaving live musician's performances into the soundtrack (celli, violins, 12 string guitars etc.) works best for me. Some period instruments would be great too. While orchestral music has its place, I usually prefer a more intimate sound.
  19. Even just one live part can make a huge difference, i.e. Diablo 2's Tristram... you don't even notice that everything but the guitar isn't live. On a totally unrelated note, I really need to learn to play guitar just so I can play Rogue and Tristram. I'd love this solution. Orchestral music is great, but sometimes it's better to go for a more intimate sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BAVZoGlKsBY As Zeckul has said, the 12 string guitar is weaved in really elegantly. So from me, a definite yes for the live musicians (small ensembles, solo parts etc.).
