I must say that I find the cynicism of this forum delightful. It's like a cold shower of truth to remove the remains of the lukewarm gelatin baths that are the bioware and bethesda fora. You think cynicism is more "truth" than optimism? OK then. For me, reading this forum is comparable to walking into a room of crying retards complaining about everything. It's downright nasty (and slightly creepy).

I love when people are saying "this game is wasting my time". No ****? What do the other games do then? Give you time? Give you money? A blowjob? Games are, by design, supposed to waste your time.

Still playing Dead Money (slowly). I found all the Dean's stashes today. Yay me.

Oohh, Risen 2..

Instead of having lunch yesterday, I decided to have a bag of candy (Polly). After work, I got a bad conscience and went to the gym. Ran intervals until my stomach cramped up. I wonder why.

This is the most impressive Lego construction I have seen: http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/lego-...speed-20100218/ That thing does something in 11 seconds that I have not been able to do in years of trying.

It is easily the most anticipated game for me. Big surprise there.. I just hope swimming and diving makes a return. It is so strange how things evolve. The very first Gothic (released in 2001) featured climbing, jumping, running, walking, swimming and diving. Gothic 2 had all of these features too, but diving was no longer needed. Gothic 3 lost it completely, together with climbing (although jumping could take you to most places anyhow). Risen lost both swimming and diving, but regained climbing, although they forgot to make it worthwhile as climbing was not really needed anywhere. I wonder if Piranha Bytes will ever get back to the full palette of movement again.. Being able to traverse a world the way you want to is such a big deal to me. Exploring underwater is one of the most fun things to do for me, especially when you're always at the risk of drowning (and have a chance of levelling up to make your diving skills better). Why don't more games use this??

The only thing missing from that is BURN, OBSIDIAN, BURN!!

I had this when I was little: It was absolutely amazing. Working steering, working suspension, working gearbox (with three gears!), working 4-cylinder engine (where you could see the engine working as you rolled it around on the floor), working seats (foldable) and so on. Unfortunately, I was too small when I got it and never managed to build it. By the time I was old enough, I had lost too many parts for it to be buildable.

I actually had so many crashes with Fallout 3 (with the first DLC installed, that I forgot the name of) that I quit playing the game altogether. I never bothered with the rest of the DLC because the crashing was so bad. Fallout: New Vegas started off very good for me, but by the time I reached the White Glove society, it was crashing like crazy again (especially in the bath house downstairs). But for some reason it has stopped crashing at all now, and I have not had a single crash in Dead money.

I have no idea what Eurogamer are on about: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-03-...making-xbla-rpg

The Radeon 6990 is supposed to be out any day now.. and I haven't upgraded anything in a couple of months! Hmmmmm..

I have not yet finished Two Worlds 2 (being distracted by Dead Money at the moment), but Risen really had one of the worst end bosses I've seen in a RPG. The worst I've ever seen was in the otherwise excellent FPS Black (on my PS2). I entered a room with lots of really difficult soldiers, threw all my grenades, fired blindly all around me in the ensuing chaos and with barely any life left won the fight. All of a sudden the end credits started rolling! Apparently one of those difficult soldiers was the guy I had been chasing the entire game, but there was no build up, no hint that he was there, no distinguishing features that made him stand out.. such an anti-climax.

dungeon siege 3 needs dismemberment
mkreku replied to steelgrim's topic in Dungeon Siege III: General Discussion
It's so strange.. for every game, there is always someone asking for more violence and mutilations. I know that Piranha Bytes have been explaining why there is no dismemberment or excessive violence in the Gothic/Risen games on their official forums ever since 2001. -
Ultima has not run its course!!1!

Well, Eurogamer made it sound really good (except for the bugs, but they seem to be working really hard on ironing them out): http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-24-magicka-review I was thinking that maybe it would be possible to play with fellow Obsidianites, but the odds of Kaftan having actually paid for a game are slim to none.

Exploration?! It's a ****ing corridor. A souped up corridor, but a corridor nonetheless.

Is anyone playing Magicka?

What's up with you and the excessive BS lately? Iraq was NOT in a state of revolution! Saddam, as evil as he was, was NOT ordering his attack helicopters to open fire on demonstrators! The war on Iraq was based on lies, and everyone knows it. Except you, apparently. There's a pretty big difference between starting a war for oil and helping a suffering people. Apparently not to you. And just stop it with this tiresome leftists did this and that BS. You're full of it and it's getting old.

http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/first-elde...-skyrim-footage Actually looks absolutely amazing. Like Gothic 3 :D

I get a black screen. Great. WORTH THE WAIT!

You gave up too soon! Hill training is excellent exercise, but you're supposed to do many passes up and down the hill. They don't have to be very long. And instead of increasing the amount of times you ascend, you increase the amount of ascent you manage to run. I also read it should only take like 30-60 seconds to run up and the same time to run down, so 15 times up and down the same hill should take around 15-20 minutes.
-
Don't worry about it, it is crappy code. I first played Gothic 2 on an old, slow rig and I got 12 fps in the worst places in Khorinis. Then I upgraded a few years after, got at least four times the amount of power and the fps increased to.. 18. It's just crappy code, I imagine my 3200 MHz Core i7 would still only manage 20-25 fps in there.

I don't. It's overrated.

I only had time to play it for maybe 30 minutes last night, but it's started off good. I don't know why, but it is a little annoying that everything inside is new! I mean, I can't relate a "police gun" to the guns I am already familiar with from the outside. I would have preferred to see variants of the same weapons found on the outside than a whole new flora of weapons that has no meaning to me (yet). Build them into the existing system instead of making a whole new system, so to speak. Not a biggie.. I will have more time to play on Friday night.
