Risen 2: Dark Waters
Well, I guess the release date is closing in. I must say that I've regained my interest in this game after seeing a few more of these gameplay videos. When I read that the game was now divided into zones (islands), I lost a little interest. Then when I read it has auto-aiming, no swimming and a bunch of other things, I lost even more interest. I quite like the Gothic game formula, thank-you-very-much Piranha Bytes! Anyhow, it still looks like a Gothic game: http://www.eurogamer...gameplay-videos Interest back!

Good old Games
Yeah, I preordered Grimrock on GoG.. and then I realized that I have bought a bunch of games there but I have never actually downloaded them! I think this will be the first game I will download and play from GoG. Oops. I really should try Ultima VII one of these days too (apparently I already bought it).. I played it a loooong time ago, but could never get into it back then.

What are you playing now?
I've been playing Treasure Adventure Game lately, after reading about it on Rock, Paper, Shotgun. It feels almost like a side-scrolling Zelda. Lots of exploration, lots of platforming and a few difficult boss battles. It's actually a lot of fun. Makes me wonder why they decided to release it for free. I could easily have spent a few dollars on this game.

Dragon's Dogma - Open World RPG (360/PS3)
Reminds me of Gothic. Guessing that will be my next Xbox 360 purchase. Last was Dark Souls.. which I've played maybe 5 times. I don't know why the narrator of the video kept going on about how the game doesn't look amazing but don't be fooled by the rough appearance. Wtf? I think it looks great!

I can't wait to get shot to pieces by a new Scorpitron.. I mean, 1,5 million dollars with 25 days left to go. I hope it will be awesome.

Pictures of your games
Although.. it kind of makes you wonder what's the point of having 2048x1536 resolution when all they're painting are 14 polygons.

Ouch, Bioware... Dragon Age 2, and now this?
Hm.. I might be thick, but I still don't get it. I mean, why not just write it off as "good game, crap ending" like so many games before it? I even read news on Eurogamer that some nut has started a collection and collected 28000 dollars as a protest against the ending! Wtf?

Ouch, Bioware... Dragon Age 2, and now this?
So.. someone explain this furore to me? It's spreading to every forum I frequent. Why are you all so upset about the ending of a game? Can someone sum it up for me? And can it really be any worse than time-travelling lizards from ancient times?

I tried this. It's actually quite good. Too bad the demo is so short and that the combat is so random. Sometimes you can get one shot killed by a looter's punch, even with the tough perk. Very interesting game idea though. Extremely survivalist and quite difficult.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
It annoys me that a game that so closely resembles the original Gothic, both in appearance and difficulty level, doesn't resonate with me at all. And I can't figure out why! Where in Gothic I found an enjoyable challenge, in Dark Souls all I feel is pointless..ness (Is that a word? **** it, it is now!). It's not that it's too difficult, as it's entirely possible to grind your way slowly forward.. it's not that the story is uninteresting, at least not more so than Gothic.. it's not that the game mechanics don't appeal to me, Gothic had the same physical combat.. So what's wrong?! Argh, stupid brain, stop being so arbitrary!!

new scientific discoveries
Well, seeing as the wall is approximately 5-10 meters wide, being able to see it from space is about as likely as being able to spot your house from space. Unless you get lucky and are using strong binoculars.

That looks really good for a Wii game.

What are you playing now?
I've been playing some Borderlands again. I bought the full package on a Steam sale a while ago, but I never got the expansions to work. A few days ago, I decided to give it a real go.. but alas they would not work. Until I tabbed out of the game, checked forums, found nothing and tried tabbing back again - at which time a small window asking for an activation code popped up instead of the game. The little window never showed up in the game, it never showed up if I clicked on the windows bar at the bottom of the screen to get back to the game (which I usually do).. the only way for me to even see it was by tabbing through all the windows currently up on my screen and choosing Borderlands. When I finally found that window, there was no way of interacting with it. No mousepointer, no focus on the little window, no cursor in the field where the code should go.. after five minutes of maniacally pressing every key I have (even on my phone), it somehow decided to put the focus on the window and let me enter the key. That was for Zombie Island.. I am afraid to try Mad Moxxi now

http://www.npr.org/blogs/krulwich/2012/02/24/147367644/six-legged-giant-finds-secret-hideaway-hides-for-80-years Not really a scientific discovery perhaps, but I thought it was an amazing story. Go horrible tree lobster, go!

I really must ask the community. FO3.
This is genius. Except one thing: the snake eats vaseline. Vaseline is a by-product of heavy oil refining. In a wasteland already horribly mutilated by careless human interaction, is this environmentally unfriendly food really something you would want to encourage? I know I'm stepping on your artistic integrity here, but I feel this is an important objection. Also, you should seek Kickstarter support for this work of genius. Double Fine has held the top spot long enough now.

South Park : The Game, PLEASE, do it on PS Vita !!!
I'm actually not so sure that western developers won't support the Vita. I've read several positive articles about how friendly the Vita is for porting and developing and how awesome Sony's developer tools have become. So.. never say never.
