God I'm tired of ultra violence.

He's my team's captain and yet I also feel a slight dislike for him. Weird. I vastly preferred Sundin.

Kickstarter and Wasteland 2 Thoughts.
mkreku commented on Chris Avellone's blog entry in Chris Avellone's Blog
Well, since Wasteland is my favourite game of all time, I felt I needed to write a comment here even though I really have nothing to add. Thanks for bringing attention to the Wasteland 2 Kickstarter project, Chris! -
Go to Eurogamer's forums and mention Obsidian.. it always devolves into an argument about buggy games and how it's even legal to release non-working products for full price. Obsidian's reputation is seriously damaged. The problem with reputation is that it takes years to build but a second to destroy, so I am guessing they will have to live with it until they fold, fair or not. Personally I've never been that bothered by bugs. I enjoyed both Daggerfall and the first Gothic games even though I probably spent more time starting them up from crashes than actually playing them. And one of my favourite games is Boiling Point. That game even had lethal flying jaguars..

Oh ok. Because the models themselves look awesome, even the one to the left that is obviously lower in poly count. But I can agree that they are not very.. uh.. fashionable. Edit: Too stupid to know left from right

Show me character models that look better.

I bet that is Avellone's own alt.

With the power the Vita possesses, it would actually be possible to port (a slightly downscaled) Fallout 3 to it. I know that's not what you were asking, but that would be immensely impressive.
-
No. But maybe it is karma for being one of the dirtiest players in the league.

"And no, I don't make a habit of bashing every game. It's just when I do it, I do it with lots of whining and crying in every thread on the board."
-
Yes. And I happened to like that game. It was funny, although one might have been misled to think that it had anything to do with the games of yesteryear because of the name. It didn't. But the point is moot anyhow, because Bard's Tale was made according to what was possible to get funding for from publishers. With this Kickstarter project, he can make the game he wants.. or the fans want. This is the whole point.

Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Editions Announced
mkreku replied to Lorfean's topic in Computer and Console
I suck at internet stalking, but.. http://w3spy.org/site/baldursgate.com which leads to http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=baldursgate.com&prog_id=GoDaddy which gives us.. nothing. Told you I suck at this -
I made it to Act 2 in Diablo 2 for the first time. Woo. I still don't know why this game was so popular as it was. I have seen so many more entertaining dungeon crawlers than this. Oh well, the main story movies are really well made, even today.

As for zoom qualities.. since you intend to use the video camera as a still picture camera, the zoom range is not really what you should be focusing on. I mentioned the Sony camera because it starts at an impressive 26 mm wide angle. Trust me, wide angle is more important than zoom range if you intend to take still pictures too.
-
Yes. Yes, you can.
-
Not what you want to hear, but I would still recommend a camera that does video than the other way around. Cameras blow video cameras out of the water when it comes to still picture quality, and for video recording, they are good enough. Unless you plan on creating professional level videos. Sony does excellent video cameras, if low light recording is important for you. Also does Full HD very well. They are usually not so impressive in the zoom range though, since the longer the zoom, the more compromises in picture quality. The upcoming Sony HDR-CX740VE is bound to be excellent (as it is an upgrade of an existing top ranked camera), for example.

If Obsidian + Kickstarter = ?

Wasteland 2 would be my dream project, yes. I think Fargo bought back the rights for Wasteland not long ago too, so it's not 100% impossible. Only 99%. -
Omg.. I played Karateka on my Commodore 64 almost 30 years ago..

Thanks, Morgoth. "Thankfully, the game

Yeah, it's strange how my perception of Steam has changed, almost unnoticeable by myself. I remember Steam coming with a huge overhead, connection problems, crash problems and feeling completely unnecessary and evil. Now I suddenly own almost 100 games on it and sometimes I start it up just to see what other people are playing.. BUT I STILL WILL NOT PAY MORE FOR STEAM NEW GAMES THAN RETAIL WITH BOXES!!1! (for now..)

I can't stand the fact that Steam's new releases are 10-20

This comments thread is making me depressed. You all want to play yet another 2D turnbased RPG with magic and elves and dark fantasy.. for the umpteenth time. ****. -

I still want a CaRPG (stupidest name ever). An open world, based around racing and cars and social interaction (not with other players, but other NPC's). No killing, just racing/solving quests for money and experience, upgrade your car, buy new cars, explore and find new cars/mechanics/underground racing clubs/parts dealers. Plenty of exploration (which means you need to be able to get out of your car GTA style). Actually GTA4's engine would be perfectly suited for a game of the type I am imagining. An open world with lots of stuff to do, but also with tight, well-designed "levels", where most of the story missions take part, kind of like how Borderlands did it (enclosed areas inside the open world). I wish more people would play Road Trip Adventure to see what kind of game I want. Just more realistic (real life cars would be awesome) and with a better story, better handling and.. better everything, basically. This project will never happen. Just building the world is such a huge undertaking. I think only Rockstar would be able to pull it off, but they are only interested in making ultra-violent third person shooters. -
Now I want an enormo-burrito too!
