Ok, hmm.. I put in the DVD and started the installation. After a few seconds it asked for a Steam key which I entered. Then I left it to its own devices while I ogled my Collector's Edition loot. Now that I'm back at the computer, I noticed that the DVD isn't even spinning and the game is being downloaded from Steam's servers! How do I stop this? I don't want to wait for hours to play this when I have the DVD in the drive! STUPID STEAM, I WANT TO INSTALL FROM DVD!

The insides! A big map (with a poster on the backside), a making of DVD and soundtrack CD, a huge bunch of really nice art cards in a pretty art box (really nice paper), a talisman (metal and what looks like leather strap), a textile pirate flag and three little stickers. I am happy with my trinkets

What the game box really looks like. Nice and clean.

Guess what I'm playing in a few minutes? (Yes, it is the Collector's Edition)

Second overtime.. I feel for you, Krookie.

I've been trying to play Ultima 7 recently, after I discovered I had bought it on GoG. But it's nigh on impossible to get into for me. First of all, the game will not start from the desktop icon. I have to go and search for some settings program and start it from there every time. Annoying. Second, the game refuses to have any sound. When I installed it, it had sound. Around the third time I started the game, the sound disappeared. It has been gone ever since. This is probably a problem with GoG's Dosbox setup, but I am too lazy to start poking around in it. It should just work. Isn't that why I paid GoG? Third.. the controls really suck. If I try to walk with the keyboard, the character takes one tiny step for every keypress when I try to move. If I hold the key down, he will take one step, stop for one second and then start running like a madman. If I use the mouse to walk, the madman running isn't as bad (as the game relates the walking speed to how far my mouse cursor is from the character), but I still get stuck behind every open door there is. And trying to walk up stairs? Geez. Fourth, the food. I have filled my poor character's inventory with food, but it doesn't seem to help. It's bad enough that I have to think of feeding my own character, but when THREE NPC's who are following me all start whining about how hungry they are.. then I give up. It's just not fun. Especially not when it's such a hassle to feed the bastards (GUI problems)! I would really like to explore the world and find out what's happening in Britannia, but it feels like the game won't let me. I'm too busy trying to find food and messing around in menu's trying to feed everybody that I don't have time to play the game.

Thanks. I love how his biggest criticism seems to be that it's too hard in the beginning.. Welcome back, Gothic! Oh how I've missed you

I'm playing the waiting game. Risen 2 is released on April 27 here in Sweden! Long time since I played a game of this type! I'm stoked!

Wow, my predictions are going to hell. I had both Vancouver and Penguins coming out of the first round. And Detroit. Oops. Huge upset by the Kings, not so huge by Philadelphia. I didn't watch any of the games, but it makes me wonder how they managed to shut down both Crosby and Malkin.

I once bought two coconuts and then just smashed them together. One of them broke and the liquid came flying out. But I could eat the white inside.. Unfortunately I can't remember if I ever managed to get the other one open too.

25 games is HARSH! But I think it's a step in the right direction. Make the punishment actually hurt and the players will have to stop.

It's poetry. Shh. Don't disturb a genius at work.

Well, this is a ****ing slap in the face. I can almost hear the board room laughter when they discussed this. Then they smoked some money and went golfing instead.

Rangers vs. Senators - Rangers in 6. Sens will steal a few games, but Lundqvist will deny them the series while Gaborik will prove his playoff worth. Bruins vs. Capitals - Bruins in 4. Does the Caps even have a goalie? Ovechkin, Semin, B

Pre-ordered it for $10 (we need a brag smiley)

Yes. Did you? From the article: "I don't think I would sign longer than two years, just because of my dad," Jagr said in May. "He asked me to come home in two years. He's helping to build a new arena there and he wants me to be there." The deal he eventually signed with the KHL was 2 years. From the article: "Jagr had long been reported to be considering lucrative offers from Russia." Also: "Jagr enjoyed his experience in Omsk during the lockout. "Don't forget I'm from Europe," Jagr told the Canadian Press. "Russia is nothing new for me. It's close to the Czech Republic. It would be different for American or Canadian players. But for me, I enjoy it. The people love hockey and I had a great time out there." Source for this? Who didn't believe he could last for more than 3 years? He is playing in the NHL now, isn't he? Apparently someone thought he could still play. From the article: "It was a very difficult but personal decision to make in light of the many NHL teams interested in his services," Brisson said. Pittsburgh, Edmonton and the Rangers are believed to have had the most interest in Jagr. They don't mention how many teams made him offers, they only mention the three teams that made him the best offers. 'Only' three offers is you jumping to conclusions.

It is. Methodical.. Well, if that's what you want to call it. For me it was sluggish. I pressed one button, my character took two slow steps forward and lunged lazily with his little shortsword. There was no way of interrupting the animation once it started, nor was there anything else you could do if the enemies turned out to be twice as fast as you. Methodical..
-
No. Jagr had a lot of offers from different NHL teams but went for the money. Tax-free money in KHL.. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3473421 I'm not surprised he's doing so well in the NHL again. He was a point-per-game player in the KHL, and the KHL is more defensive than the NHL, believe it or not.

I'm not trying to discredit Sykora, 20 goals is good in today's NHL. Yeah, I've been thinking about this too. Are goalies of today really better than (for example) the Dominator? Or does it perhaps have something to do with the fact that goalies of today are as wide as they are tall and cover basically 95% of the net just by standing still?
-
20 goal season.. Yeah, I've been thinking about this. Two guys will (probably) reach 50 this year. Maybe 5 guys can reach 40.. Is it just me or does this feel weak to you too? It was more fun just a couple of years ago when someone like Ovechkin could score 65 goals in a season.

Playing Dungeons of Dredmor on and off. I've lost count of how many characters I've made that have gone and died in ever increasingly stupid ways. I actually found one build that I was enjoying very much, but it was magic based and even at level 13+ it only had 48 hitpoints (but boy was it satisfying to enter a monster zoo with that souped up fireball!). And of course, on level 7, I had to open one of those evil boxes, and out pops a super strong monster that oneshots me without warning (albeit with a critical hit).

Was I the only one who didn't download that leaked beta?

Oh, and you just have to love the land of the free: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/03/27/esrb-takes-the-red-out-of-the-risen-2-cover.aspx I am sure that colour change saved many innocent little gamer brains in the good ole US of A.

Well, I guess the release date is closing in. I must say that I've regained my interest in this game after seeing a few more of these gameplay videos. When I read that the game was now divided into zones (islands), I lost a little interest. Then when I read it has auto-aiming, no swimming and a bunch of other things, I lost even more interest. I quite like the Gothic game formula, thank-you-very-much Piranha Bytes! Anyhow, it still looks like a Gothic game: http://www.eurogamer...gameplay-videos Interest back!
