Really interesting fact of the day: skald means bard in swedish.
-
I voted yes for this. If you could use your normal lightsaber as a whip (the saber put in whip-mode) and you could pull enemies closer with it, or perhaps trip them and stuff, it could be really neat. Would love the animations for it too, I imagine.

I'd take the Crytek engine before the Half-Life 2/Unreal 3-engines any day. Why? Because that engine exist, it works and it has an excellent game behind it, proving its worth. Who knows how large maps Half-Life 2 or Unreal 3 will support when they finally arrive? By the way, I've seen the movies from Half-Life 2 and the Unreal 3 techdemo.. They look awesome.

The best thing about Gothic 2 is that there are very few quests you are required to do. This "Find the altars!"-quest was a side quest. It took me a very long time to finish it because I got it early and while I was exploring the vast land I picked up an altar here and there whenever I ran across one. I don't think I ever actively searched for them. Well, perhaps a few of them Obsidian, could you PLEASE license the Crytek engine instead of the Aurora/Odyssey engine for your next project..? At least consider it.

I bet most of 'em aren't even Blonde. Actually, most of them are blonde. And pretty. And eeeevul!
-
Uh, I'm not so sure this is a great idea. I can imagine the dialogue going something like this: "I am a free woman! Don't even think about touching me you male chauvinist pig! Women are strong! Down with porn! Down with men!

I hated that first city: when you went underground to that village and the villagers were all like "we sent out our strongest fighters and they haven't returned, please help us" and then you went 20 feet outside the village gates and there they were dead or dying in a heap. Sort of. Everything you had to look for in the entire game was always within an arms length. You guys should play Gothic/Gothic 2 if you want an immersive game. One of the quests in it consist of finding 12 altars (I think it was 12) and let me tell you, it's not easy! That's a lot of running. Of course, Morrowind/Daggerfall were even bigger, but their worlds felt "automated", like a soulless machine had designed them so they don't count

I thought the word "co-op" was kind of self explanatory, but here goes: it is actually short for co-operation! That means multiplayer could consist of players logging into the same game to play the main story together, helping each other. You know, human controlled Carth's, HK-47's and Bastila's? I still think it could be neat.
-
A co-op feature would be kind of neat. It worked great in Sacred (and System Shock 2, if I remember correctly) and really added to the fun of the game. Of course, three human controlled Jedi's would probably take over that galaxy (far, far away) in a matter of minutes

I'd be a Hutt with twelve Princess Leia clones obeying my every command.
-
So.. What do you think the price of the collector's edition of the game would be if they were to hire the crew from Hooters to dress up in Princess Leia-suits to serve drinks all night? I'd swim there from Sweden to attend if that was the case.
-
You forgot car (ship?) jacking like in GTA: Vice City and veneral diseases like in Wasteland or it would have been the perfect game
-
Uhm.. Isn't anyone in the Obsidian crew influenced by the Gothic games even in the slightest? Please? Someone? Heeeeeelp...!

Not to mention that Ultima V is the ONLY game I've been able to run in Commodore 128 mode on my Commodore 128! The C64 didn't have in-game music and had A LOT of disc swapping. The Commodore 128 had absolutely beautiful in-game music and didn't even have half the disc swapping as the C64 version. But Ultima IV came first and it really changed the way I looked at computer RPG's. Never before had the C64 had such a vast world to explore. I agree that Ultima V was a better game than Ultima IV, but since it was a sequel it is inevitably judged by harsher standards. Just like KotOR 2 will be. (Feel the pressure, Obsidian boys!)

The strange thing is that this little act is actually illegal. You're not allowed to download no-cd cracks! But personally I do it too. I can't even imagine how it would be to be a games reviewer if I didn't have those cracks. It's bad enough as it is right now, with all the cd's lying everywhere, but if I also had to find each and everyone everytime I needed to start up a game to take a screenshot or check out some fact, it would kill me. I recently started reviewing PS2-games too, and already the DVD's are stacking up around the console...

I voted for Level/Environment artist because I'd like to create worlds. I hope I chose the right option for that
-
Among all of you who work for Obsidian, who has the prettiest/cutest girlfriend? I bet that's the question all KotOR fans have been waiting for.
-
Uhm.. Did I mention you're the prettiest girl I've never laid eye on?
-
I didn't even know it was possible to code a 3D-engine in under 100Kb! And they managed to cram in graphics, level design, weapons, monster design, weak monster AI, lighting effects (!), shadows, a few menu options and even a small demo running before the actual "game". Well, I am truly impressed. 96kb. I've taken bigger pictures of my d!ck, and that's saying something!

Uhm.. Wish I had five howling girls standing next to me every time I played a computer game Anyhow: I've only played the game on a PC and since I own a PS2 I don't think I'll ever get an Xbox. (You will not get my money too, Bill Gates!!) But I must say I was kind of disappointed with the PC version of KotOR since I'm used to 3D games having mouse look. Well, ever since the days of Doom at least.

Ok, dspitzley, I really hope you have a lot of influence over the rest of the development team! I saw your favourite games were (among others) Ultima IV/V and that you enjoyed exploring.. That's exactly how I play my games and I rank the Ultima's way up there too! Finally someone among the Obsidian staff who ISN'T AN IDI.. er.. I mean, who has a refined taste in computer entertainment. Go, dspitzley!

I voted "Hell no".. Let's face it: it's not like the average american kid doesn't get to watch enough violence without KotOR 2 adding to the heap. Why isn't it enough that you slaughter hundreds of people in a game, why do you have to dismember them too to be satisfied?
-
Gaah! Bigger worlds MUST win! Or else I'm gonna replace Magic with Miniscule in MCA! (Oohh, what a cruel revenge)
-
To sum it up a little: you hate playing a Jedi, you won't be buying this title, you hated KotOR (after you became a Jedi/Sith).. Remind me again why you are here then, writing post after post after post with the same whiny message?

Is it too late for suggestions to mean anything?
