  1. Well, I wasn't exactly implying that driving and barging into people's houses were the only things you could do in the game. Of course, you'd need a good set of RPG rules, interesting character development and a well written main story too.. But I was trying to mention the "New Ideas" that I really would like to see in a RPG. Was just trying to be on topic, not trying to be vague
  2. My mom is better at HTML than me. It's kind of embarrassing since I'm the one taking computer science classes at the university.. (But I own her in Java! Woo me.)
  3. Now THAT's what I'd like. Freedom to open each and every door I see (and take the consequences for doing so). That and customizable, driveable vehicles in a full 3D, third person viewed world, of course..
  4. Am I the only one who believe they are working on Planescape: Torment 2?
  5. Connery IMO was the best Bond, he was charming and tough. Roger Moore may have been good in Saint but he was too soft for a Bond. Brosnan was IMO nearly as good as Connery, but as someone said before the newer Bond movies were quite crappy if you count out the Aston Martin in the beginnig of Golden Eye Wow! My thoughts exactly.. Not often I see someone who thinks exactly like myself. What a weird feeling
  6. It looks a lot like a regular (but very good looking!) FPS, but if you read about it on their own site, they, themselves, like to compare it to Fallout and Morrowind. Of course, we'll just have to wait and see until it comes out, but DAMN it looks good!
  7. I think you mean Static, which was an IGF entry, but sort of stalled after they lost the competition :? Uhm.. not really. I had never heard of Static, but if you click on the little underlined word "Wardog" in my post, you'll see what I was referring to.
  8. There is this 3D Fallout clone that's been under development since like.. 2001, I think it was when I first heard about it. Anyhow, if it's ever completed it might be worth adding to the list. Wardog
  9. Argh, you are too fast! I was looking for the official home page for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines when you updated the list.. Oh, and Xenus IS a RPG, trust me. Lots and lots to read about it on the net, check out this link for example.. "3D action/RPG" it says.
  10. A few other RPG's under development (off the top of my head): Stalker: Oblivion Lost Sacred Beyond Divinity Xenus Bard's Tale (InXile) A.I.M.
  11. You should try "Super Hero League Of Hoboken" which is a great, but old, game. Otherwise there's always "Freedom Force" where you create your own super heroes and even add their special skills and stuff. Great RPG actually. Much newer and it has good 3D graphics.
  12. Care to share some of them with us? It's fun to read other people's strange ideas.
  13. Uhm.. I think I included that highly popular RPG-view in "Other".. By the way, this might be SLIGHTLY off topic, but since people seem to prefer pre-rendered isometric views in their RPG's, take a look at this game, Sacred. It's being developed in Germany right now, and it actually looks quite good even though it is pre-rendered. You can even zoom in the graphics in the game world. Weird. Anyhow, just a tip for anyone searching for an isometric RPG to long for..
  14. Woohoo! I found my avatar! But it became rather small.. So it's quite hard to see what it is. It is actually the entire world map for the game Wasteland. The original picture was 1200x1175 so it had to shrink a little before becoming an avatar.
  15. Seems like Pre-rendered Isometric view (like in Fallout) won. Geez, people are still stuck in the stoneage! Oh well.. Guess I'll just sit back and wait for Gothic 3 instead..
  16. So you mean having different names, writing skills and even avatars isn't enough?
  17. Don't say that! When I played through Divine Divinity, my girlfriend saw me playing and seemed interested. I didn't think much about it and went to work. When I got back my character was like.. 20 levels higher than when I left and almost all the fog of war had been erased! She blames the cat, but I don't believe her.
  18. I own a RPG that's called Prince of Xin, and it's set in ancient China. You play a prince that's being hunted by his own father and you have to travel through China and solve quests and gather friends for the final confrontation. It's isometric, has good graphics but I don't remember if the combat was turn based or not. I think it was, but I'm not sure. All you isometric-turn-based-combat-ninja dudes should give it a try!
  19. Maybe some of the letters in one of the messages formed a war map of Iraq?
  20. Customizable, driveable vehicles. And don't even mention that silly thing in Fallout 2! Imagine having a game world like in GTA: Vice City (Huge, free, all 3D with lots and lots of driveable vehicles), combined with the Fallout-universe and Havok physics.. That could easily be my dream game. I wouldn't even care for a story
  21. Oookkk.. Now my post looks exceptionally whiny and stupid since the post by Fionavar I was referring to was also changed when he altered his signature. Oh well.
  22. ..and the moderator who responds has an eleven line long signature himself...
  23. Wow. Thank you, Iolo. That was easily the best post I've ever seen on these boards. I trust Brian Fargo, even though most of you on these board don't seem to like him. Just remember, there's NO developer with a perfect record. Even geniuses have bad days. Except perhaps Peter Molyneaux.. Maybe I should give that RPGCodex a try?
  24. Hey, anything with the name Wasteland in it gets my hopes (and spirits) up! I've waited soooo long for someone to pick up that license and actually DO something with it. I'd buy it even it it was Phantom exclusive..
  25. I usually prefer sequels to the original game, myself. Like the example of Thief 2: Metal Age over Thief.. Or Daggerfall over Arena (but not Morrowind!).. Colin McRae 2 over Colin McRae.. GTA: Vice City over GTA3... and so on. Sequels are a way for intelligent and skillful developers to sort out the worst problems from the original and add more content and features, based on what the fans and community appreciated the most. An attentive developer could really benefit from a board like this, but it takes a lot of work to distill the good parts from all the trash that immediately fills any public board.
