It would still be fun to know what game he is so patiently waiting for.

A little bit of necro-posting perhaps, but Saab released a picture of their new concept car today. Meet Aero-X! Damn! Edit: Spelling.

Why does Pronger play for the canadians? He sucks on big ice! I've never seen anyone so slow on Olympic ice. How does he survive in the new NHL? Sakic, Draper and Doan have been good for Canada. 3-2 against the Czech's right now. Great game!

No. I play Gothic & Gothic 2 for a sense of freedom. Morrowind seems open but because you can't climb in that game, it's just as dead and dumb as any linear jRPG (which almost always have corridors even in forests!). Daggerfall actually had a climb skill, which was awesome. If you maxxed it out (and maxxed out running) you could run up against a house, climb up its wall with amazing speed and then fling over the ceiling like a rocket. Sometimes you had so much speed, the fall would kill you even if the house was a one-story building. )

One "feature" that has always bugged me is when the designers put up invisible barriers everywhere on the maps so you can't go 'wrong'. For example Jade Empire.. Try walking behind a tree or a rock alongside one of the roads. Your character bumps into an invisible line long before you even touch the rock or tree. No explanation, no logical hindrance, no extra points for Jade Empire. If you HAVE to put a barrier there, MAKE IT BELIEVABLE!! Nothing breaks immersion as much as seeing my character run in a standstill against an invisible obstacle.

I wish the very idea of magic was forgotten completely. I prefer my games without any trace of magic whatsoever. Technology, on the other hand, is more interesting, even though I prefer real technology as opposed to the Star Wars naive technology. I guess I want my games to be somewhat connected to reality. Real technology, no magic.

It looked like me when I'm playing Battlefield 2.

One GPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814131004 That's $589 for the graphics card alone. And it will still not hold a candle (probably) to the Playstation 3 once it is released. Consoles are great value for money, no doubt about it. It's much cheaper to buy one console for gaming and a cheap PC for everything else (email, chat, surfing, work etc.) than buying a top-of-the-line PC that matches the new consoles. You don't email better for those $2000 you just spent on a new super PC.

I absolutely hate the graphic design in this game. Everything about it screams "generic!!1". The brown/grey/green colours, the ridiculously oversized weapons/armours/vehicles, the dusty/dirty/narrow tunnels/fields/constructions. It's all been done to death already. Also, this seems like nothing but a graphically enhanced (well, the engine is awesome) online FPS. What's there to be excited about?

Canada leads Sweden 4-0 in the women's hockey finals. One period to go.

If someone (*cough*alanschu*cough*) is thinking about buying Boiling Point, I'd suggest that you wait until.. March sometimes. I realized that's when it is re-released as a budget game. I ordered it (even though I have the first full-price game) because it was so cheap and comes fully patched, but it turned out to be a pre-order of a budget game. That's a first for me. Anyhow, it says it will be out in March.

That report is flawed. Joe Osho (or whatever his name was) is not making sense in his predictions about prices.

What video/computer games have changed your life?

I took a break from gaming between 1995 and 2002. I had a Spectrum ZX 48K from (I think) 1982 to 1985, when I bought my Commodore 128. I played my games on that trusty machine for 10 years! Imagine trying to use the same computer for 10 years now. When the Commodore 128 scene died, so did my interest in gaming. I hated the Amiga, I hated the PC (and expecially dumb was the idea that you had to buy an extra card (GPU) just to play games when the Commodore 128 had it all built in!) and I was bitter that an era had come to an end. I did follow gaming between 1995 and 2002, meaning I read magazines and had friends who played all sorts of games, but it wasn't until a friend in my dorm lent me his computer during the summer break in 2000-2001 that I got started again. The game that got me interested again was Gothic. I had never seen anything like it before and I had never imagined the powerful immersion a game like Gothic could bring. In 2002 I bought my own PC and now I'm a computer geek again. -
If you go to the old world in Gothic 2 and enter the old, ruined arena (just outside the besieged castle), you'll hear some strange noises coming from a very dark room. If you enter it to explore where the noise is coming from, you'll find an orc and a sheep in a.. compromising situation. Needless to say, you WILL have to fight the orc.

Did I mention that the music in Boiling Point is really, really good?

Outside the Olympics and the World Cup of hockey, yes, the NHL is the best hockey. But you have to remember that there are 30 NHL teams, so the talent is spread pretty thin in most teams. When you look at the top nations in the Olympics, you'll see much better teams than any NHL team, talentwise. I enjoy Olympic hockey vastly more than I enjoy yet another Columbus Blue Jackets - St. Louis Blues game in the NHL. Especially in the 'playoffs', when B-nations like Italy and Germany aren't involved any longer. I also love how Canada (with all their stars) have failed to score a goal in two straight games! Finland played an outstanding game and beat the canucks on every level. They outmuscled, outsmarted and outplayed them. And who would have thought Niittym

Sweden beat USA earlier today in a close game. I don't understand why Sundin always plays like he's on fire when he's in the national team. I haven't seen this spark in him all season with the Leafs. Lundkvist was great in goal. Forsberg was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career since 1992. He will play tomorrow against the Slovaks though.

I usually don't typo at all when I'm drunk. Did anyone see Jarkko Ruutu's hit on Jaromir Jarg in the Czech - Finland game? Nastiest hit I've seen since Stevens hit Lindros' career into a freefall to the bottom. NASTY. N.A.S.T.Y. I am sure you'll see it sooner or later in some weird place on the internet if you haven't seen it already. I have a feeling neither Jarkko nor Jagr will return in this tournament. Unfortunately, that injury Jagr received may also mean he has played his last game for a few weeks. Unlucky, Rangers! I didn't feel it was an illegal hit though. Sure, it might have been charging. Sure, it might have been "intent to injure", who knows. But he received a boarding penalty and a match penalty (from the otherwise excellent swedish referee!). He will probably be suspended for a number of games. Actually, while I was looking for a picture of the incident I happened upon a doctor's comment about Jagr. Apparently he didn't get a concussion! Amazing! All he needed were a few stitches to his forehead. Jagr may be a lot tougher than one thinks. Lucky, Rangers (if it's true.. hard to believe right now)! (The Assault) Edit: Spelt Ruutu wrong. Added second picture.

Play Boiling Point for that.

I usually just install both the onboard soundcard drivers and the PCI soundcard drivers and then enable/disable the soundcard I want to use in the Device Manager (Control Panel/System).

Wow. Switzerland has now beaten both of my top picks for the gold before the tournament started (Canada and the Czech's). Impressive.
