  1. A pet peeve of mine: it's flops. Floating Point Operations Per Second, FLOPS. Or, in this case, Gflops. Now I'll butt out and leave the discussion to alan and Mr. I-Know-Sooo-Much-I-Just-Conveniently-Enough-Can't-Say-Anything-To-You.
  2. Are you guys discussing Kirottu again?
  3. Haha, I'm so stupid. I've been wondering why I feel like I never have any time left to play computer games anymore.. and then karka points out that there's some small football tournament going on right now.. I have a game of Heroes of Might & Magic 5 on hold right now.
  4. Glad to see I'm not the only one longing for another post apocalyptic themed RPG. I'm eagerly awaiting the answer to this question too )
  5. I can't wait for the Brazil - Croatia game tonight! I have a feeling it will be an awesome game!
  6. Deus Ex? As I remember it, the weapons moved by themselves but the sights were static..? Maybe that was only when you looked through a scope.
  7. Well, it's more of an RPG than an actual shooter. Guns in the game do suck if you haven't invested in being good with them, as that's what primarily determines if you hit what you're aiming at. I think that aspect threw a lot of people off for some reason, although it shouldn't have, as your character's skill influencing how good a weapon potentially can be, is the norm in RPGs. My Torreador owned with guns. I think it's an awesome concept, and more games should use it. I think it sucks. I want to aim myself (I hate when I aim correctly but the game decides that I miss, without explanation) but I want the damage I inflict to be based on my skill. A much more intelligent, smooth and intuitive system.
  8. See? Alan knows how to make a point in an argument. Claim something, then back it up with something other than "I heard a rumour and innuendo that [iNSERT HARDWARE HERE] is weaker than [iNSERT OTHER HARDWARE HERE]".
  9. Michael Essien of Ghana played an excellent game! Too bad his team lost, but that was only because Italy was an even better team! That was the best game I've seen so far in these championships. Italy looks deadly strong.
  10. Got to love Europe though! Apparently the singer (Toni Braxton) who performed at the opening ceremony showed her nipple, you know.. like Janet Jackson in the Superbowl? The difference is that here everyone's going "WOOHOO!! Good show!! :D" instead of "THE WORLD IS DOOMED! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES, A NIPPLE HAS BEEN SHOWN! POTENTIALLY TO KIDS!!". Oh, and I've been hoping the US would bring a good team to the world championships of the world's largest sport. But that was a really disappointing performance by the americanos. I know the Czech's are good, but football is a sport that's perfect for people with great self esteem, something which the US players have been great at showing in recent world cups. They showed nothing of the sort in this game. I'm hoping they will rebound against an even better team, get past their group and fight for the medals. Maybe that would spark the interest for football in the US? It would be great for the sport as a whole. And the americans wouldn't have to invent any more sports that only they play and subsequently call their national league the "world championships" )
  11. Perkele! At least you're not stuck at work when the swedish television broadcasts even the swedish training sessions! I hate being unable to watch games because I am stuck doing other things.. like making money
  12. I just wanted to add that Gothic 2 has the best sex scene ever. EVER. EVAH!
  13. Yeah, and GTA: San Andreas is actually the worst of the bunch when it comes to collecting crap. In GTA: Vice City, you had to find 100 hidden packages, but for every 10 you found, you were rewarded with something nice. In GTA: San Andreas, on the other hand, you ONLY get rewarded if you find each and every one of the hidden items, be it photographs, graffiti, horseshoes or clams. A very bad decision, in my opinion, and a step backwards in game design as most people won't ever get a single reward from all their collecting.
  14. Hey, I got Kingdom Hearts 2 for my girlfriend, but because she hasn't finished Kingdom Hearts yet, she refuses to touch it! It's kind of annoying, when I buy her an expensive gift that I know she's been waiting forever for.. and then she won't even play it because she wants to suck out all the fun from the first part first. JUST PLAY THE DAMN GAME, BI.. WOMAN!
  15. It is difficult to type with my head buried under my desk
  16. Not in image quality!
  17. Piracy is not about stealing, it's about sharing!
  18. Quick swedish parleur for the international crowd: KUKEN = The C0ck. APAN = The Ape. HORAN = The Whore. Now we ALL can understand! )
  19. I read today that an english art museum paid
  20. I hated Morrowind and thought it was boring, lifeless and all around dull. I loved Oblivion and thought it was entertaining, atmospheric and interesting. They do share a lot of things though, and I'm not even sure what made me like Oblivion despite hating Morrowind. Maybe it was the full voice acting? Or maybe it was better quests (more likely)? Or maybe it was a combination of added physics, much more colourful graphics, a more engaging main story and the aforementioned thing?
  21. It all finally starts today! GO SWEDEN GO!!!
  22. I think you'd like it. It's fun, the combat is a bit repetitive (and not as tactical as it would seem), the graphics are great and it really feels like a prettier version of Heroes of Might & Magic 3. I've been having a blast with it so far.
  23. http://www.twitchguru.com/2006/06/05/monda...down/page2.html 10 really good reasons too!!1
  24. I thought Dragon Quest 8 had excellent graphics! Ok, you have to get used to the characters, but the surroundings! The towns! The viewing distance! I have honestly never seen a game with such great viewing distance as Dragon Quest 8.. Also, it's one of very few games on the Playstation 2 that uses streaming maps so it feels big and open-ended too. Oh, and the sound is excellent. Great voice acting and music.
  25. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=65384 This sounds promising: "Once people start doing really impressive stuff on PS3 and Xbox 360, they're both going to be much the same [in terms of difficulty]," he concluded. "Sony's giving us better tools this time around - they're still not great at communicating and there are some weird holes in their developer support, but they've learned a lot of lessons from PS2."
