Today I first played beach volleyball and burned myself all over my white, Swedish body. Then I sat on a stand and watched the finals in the Elite League Beach volleyball tournament that was held downtown. It was awesome! Those guys are so good!! Then me and a couple of friends barbecued some food and played Guitar Hero 2 until now. Good day for me!

I have one LCD and one CRT screen in my household, so I have the luxury of being able to compare them side by side. There's NO WAY I would trade my old Samsung CRT (admittedly an expensive model mainly used for photo editing by the guy I got it from) for the quite expensive LCD my girlfriend currently has (and I paid for.. argh).

Go Ottawa! I didn't get to watch the game but from the summary it sounds like there were a lot of fluke goals. One off of Alfredsson's skate and one off of Pronger's skate. And why is it that Pronger plays so dirty? The guy is good enough to dominate without resorting to elbowing, which seems to slowly becoming his trademark of late. I saw the hit on ESPN's excellent flash movie player. U.G.L.Y.

Both Gothic's has great soundtracks (but I don't know whether I think this because I love the games or if they're really that good). As many of you have mentioned already, Deus Ex has a really memorable soundtrack. GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas has awesome soundtracks too, but I don't know if they count since they're just radio stations playing famous songs. The best soundtrack I think I've ever heard in a game must be from the game Bully (Canis Canem Edit). It's a custom written soundtrack, composed and played (all instruments!) by one guy. But he does an awesome job and hits all the key moments with such precision I've never heard in a game before. Oh, and an honorary mention has to go to Boiling Point and STALKER too. Both had some really original and atmospheric tunes.

On which song and which difficulty level? I can't even get 5 star performances on all Easy songs (missing two of them, I think)!

The first time I fired up Far Cry I almost didn't believe what I was seeing. At least not on my rig. It was so beautiful, haunting and technically impressive, all at once. The first time I saw Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube. Man, I had no idea that little cube thingie could produce such wonderful graphics. Still one of the most atmospheric use of graphics I've ever seen. Lately, I've been very impressed by Test Drive Unlimited. Not just because of its serene beauty (it looks absolutely fantastic) but more because it's so smooth and seamless all the way through.

So basically you've turned Fallout 2 into Diablo 2. And where the hell is the "crazy" smiley nowadays?!

I wish Obsidian would take a leaf out of Piranha Bytes book when it comes to game difficulty. Who in their right mind think that auto-resurrection is a good design choice? I know for a fact that I've never once reloaded the game (Neverwinter Nights 2) because I died in combat. The only times I ever reload is when I want to try different dialogue options that are not immediately reachable. And you know a game has hit the right game difficulty when the werewolf drama queen whines about the game being the worst game ever a full five years after trying it.. About the Duergar: I want the game to kick my butt! I want to be able to fail. That makes winning so much sweeter.

I hope he can hit a balance between the shooter and the RPG in BioShock. So far all I've seen is the shooter aspect. So far all I've heard from someone I trust (a Swedish game journalist who got to play the game) is that the game is a shooter. I hope Ken isn't doing the Bethesda hype thing.

Are they going to sweep..? That would be embarrassing.

I've been on a conference trip these last two days ad although tiring, they've been great fun. 3-4 hours of work every day and then out to drink beer and check out the local skirt fauna. We've had absolutely lovely weather too! Now I'm back in Uppsala and it's really cold, foggy and raining. Depressing.

Hmm. This expansion sounds more interesting that Neverwinter Nights 2 ever did.. and I don't even like Planescape: Borement! I'm officially interested.

The new picture isn't ugly.. it's just.. not noteworthy.

Me and my girlfriend went into town to buy a new pair of summer shorts for me to wear. Three hours later we're home. She's got a new pair of summer shorts, I got nothing.. except the bill for her shorts. I ENDED UP PAYING FOR THEM! Girls.

I played R-Type on one of this back in 1988: It was awesome for its time. Amazing graphics, the power-up system (with the ball that grew as it got better and could be attached to your ship's nose as a shield) was ground-breaking and the end bosses must have been some of the most difficult bosses of all time. I distinctly remember that huuuuge ship that you blew parts off as you advanced along its scrolling side. You had to position your ship right all the time or else the several-screen-long boss ship would just squash you, all the while you were trying to blow stuff up and avoid being shot by the turrets on the boss ship. This might have been from R-Type 2 though.
