I'm pretty happy with the Leafs new signings! Toskala is a great goalie (any goalie is a step forward compared to Raycroft) and Jason Blake is a great goalscorer, both additions we've been lacking all last season. Let's just hope Blake finds chemistry with the captain! You never know these things. They should have signed him up for three years instead of five though. The guy is 34. He'll be 39 when the contract runs out.
  2. Wish they had shipped the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 2 with 1 GB of RAM instead.. And even then it would probably be difficult to cram Crysis onto them. Not that I expect my PC to be able to run it either. Argh.
  3. I'm looking forward to Puzzle Quest again, now that they've confirmed it's coming out on PC. It'll definitely be my next purchase. All the other games I'm looking forward to (Crysis, Bioshock, White Gold, Precursors, Alan Wake etc.) are several months away.
  4. Crysis dated: November 16. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=80753 Countdown video: http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?play...id=4010&s=l The time to upgrade our rigs is fast approaching (Bokishi excluded..)!
  5. This is the reason why I switched from Nvidia to ATI.. I never liked that game.
  6. Last night I drove my girlfriend to the airport. She went to England (Sheffield University) to do a research project for ten weeks. I'm already lonely I once sang at a Finnish karaoke bar. Unfortunately I don't speak Finnish so I sang with my best Finnish impersonation instead. Apparently I was so bad that the Finnish audience thought I was ridiculing them and upped and left! I didn't notice it at the time as I was a bit intoxicated, but my friends told me later. I only sang one song.. I think it was called "Miljoona, miljoona rosoa" or something.
  7. Sacred Plus (and Underworld) has pretty good co-op. I especially like how you're able to only group up whenever you feel like it. If you feel like going at it alone, you can do that too. The world certainly is big enough to fit two-to-four players at once. And it's kind of fun being able to do your own thing for a while and then you gang up for some tougher enemy, once you've found it. It's also fun to sit and compare the quests you've found and the rewards you've gotten.. and the loot you've picked up.. and then trade it amongst your mates. Just don't try to play it in single player mode. It's deathly boring and repetitive.
  8. Woah, that's a classic BMW 3000, is it not?

  10. I have a friend with a Nikon D50 and another one with a Nikon D70. Those are not exactly travel cameras. Great picture though!
  11. I don't run miles. But I've run 2 kilometres in 7.55. I've recently managed to get down to 12.40 for three kilometres.. My current goal is to be able to run 3 kilometres comfortably under 12 minutes.
  12. My girlfriend bought a Nintendo DS Lite in Hong Kong. Unfortunately for her, I'm feverishly playing Puzzle Quest on it..
  13. Hey, I enjoyed Rogue Trooper!

The problem with Raycroft was that he was unreliable. He could do some amazing stuff one minute and the next he'd let in a loose puck from the blueline. Statistically he was fine, but he also created an uncertainty in the team by the way he was playing. I'm hoping Vesa Toskala proves to be more stable in goal. Or at least put some pressure on Raycroft to improve himself. I like the guy, I just wish he was as good as he can be more often.
  15. I don't dare to contact him anymore.. He asked for my help to find Wasteland in those "Best Games of All Time" lists that sometimes pops up on the Internet and I was too lazy to even try to search for it. Well, I did search a little, but I didn't find anything and then I gave up and just didn't respond to him. I think his email might be on the InXile website. Or maybe not. It's on my work computer though so I don't have it at hand. And in 8 hours I start my journey towards Perth, Australia so I probably won't log on here for five to six weeks starting tomorrow. Great timing, huh?
  16. Just a head's up: AMD are releasing their next CPU design (Barcelona) late this summer. Personally, I'd wait for them to release that before deciding on a new rig right now. Who knows, it might give Core 2 Duo (Conroe) a run for its money.
  17. I don't see the need to argue about this at all. If the "environmentalists" are wrong.. so what? Will it kill you to try to use energy saving light bulbs and drive cars designed to consume less gasoline? If the environmentalists are right.. well, then at least we got a head start. It's a win-win situation, no matter what. Unless you believe in conspiracy stories about our governments trying to control our lives and minds through environmental issues..
  18. What teh hell are you guys on about?
  19. I may be a bit slow and off-topic, but.. what the hell happened? http://revproject.com/transformers/default.html I don't recognize any one of them except Optimus Prime.
  20. Hmm.. I don't really know what to say, but.. JoWood and Piranha Bytes broke up. That means the original developers aren't allowed to continue work on their mega-patch. Instead JoWood got the responsibility. So what do they do? They hire fans, let them sign a NDA and give them the source code for Gothic 3! It has already resulted in two fan patches with 48 bug fixes! I don't know if I'm impressed or horrified.
  21. Wasteland had a learn by doing system that actually worked. Or maybe I was so young when I played the game that I was too stupid to realize the system was abusable.
  22. I've actually had a short email conversation with Brian Fargo over the rights to Wasteland a while back (uh, probably a year or so). He wants to do something with the license but apparently it's a tough sell to publishers.
  23. This is the first piece of information they've released that I didn't want to hear. I don't care about the rest of the superficial stuff (not even the Nuke catapult), but if they aren't even willing to admit and realize the inherent flaws of Oblivion, then we're in trouble. At least they've admitted that level scaling was messed up.
  24. Really? I'd spend it on a new supermodel every day for the rest of my life.

    BAAAAN

I don't know why people keep comparing movies to computer games. In one you're a passive spectator, in the other you're an active participant. Anyone but me see the difference..?
