I had the exact same thing happen to me this summer. But my motherboard comes with a built in button for resetting the BIOS and when I did that, it immediately started working again. You should try that. Find the manual for your motherboard and look up the reset function on it. It's usually just a matter of moving a tiny contact a few millimeters to the side for a few seconds and then back again. But since you didn't provide us with exact details about your system, I'm sure you can find it yourself.

Katamari Damacy is actually a really cool game.

I've tried it. It wasn't all bad, the combat was still fun, but as a game it just didn't work.

This Internet paranoia.. it's bordering on pathetic. About the root-kit: it's like trying to prove that God doesn't exist. It just isn't possible. If you believe in the root-kit, then there is a root-kit. Read this though: http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070...-a-rootkit.html Everyone here who complains about the imaginary root-kit.. what issues has it caused you, personally?

So what you're saying is.. you get turned on by your cat?

Even mediocre games become good with co-op, and the Halos are known for their excellent co-op.

Source: http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/pc_faq.html Hmm.. Who to believe: Kaftan, the copy protection alarmist, or the ones who wrote the code? Tough call.

The Phenom not being well received? http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=41970 It managed to break the 30,000 point barrier in 3DMark06, according to the Inquirer. That's pretty good to me.

Better (and more objective) preview: http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=82323 Actually, the link above leads to a real preview, not some lame attempt at disguising irrational hatred against a computer game. One quote: "In Leipzig last week, we were given another chance to see the very first demo of Bethesda's interpretation of this beloved universe (for details, see John Walker's preview), and it was no less impressive the second time around - gorgeous, violent and extremely faithful to the series' legacy, it was a personal game of the show by a long, long way." Now you decide which to trust.

Pfft. The graphics in real life suck. Little consideration for aesthetics. Did you just call my girlfriend ugly?

I was going to write a real reply, but this is so pointless. You've made up your mind about Fallout 3 before anyone even started working on the game and it's clear that nothing's going to change that, no matter how good the actual game might become. You're not interested in the game, you're just interested in confirming your own prejudices. A thousand times over. "The only times this game really shines is when it is copying from the originals directly." I guess that quote says it all.
-
No, I don't. But at least I'm not twisting my words, pretending to be objective.
-
It wasn't a review/preview though. It was just a bunch of drivel written for the thousandth time using slightly different words.

Persona 3 sounds like the worst game ever.

I just told you it's a free land. How much more of an invitation do you need? -

Why is homosexuality such a big deal in the US? Land of the free, my ass. -
Gee, how interesting. A group of people hating on a game they've set out to hate before they even had a chance to see it for themselves. Because Bethesda can't do role-playing, Oblivion was console crap, Fallout should be turn-based (ALWAYS HAS BEEN!!), 3D is bad for your eyes and causes masturbation, anything newer than 1999 is eeevil etc etc. How utterly meaningless and boring. And old. Don't forget old. We know you hate everything already. Get over it.

White Gold preview: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/artic...24&skip=yes It's short, badly written and doesn't really say anything about the game. Still, it mentions that White Gold is on track to become what Boiling Point should have been, and that's a good thing. I really enjoyed Boiling Point in its current flawed form.

I BRING WAR!! None of that "pool of grass following you around" effect as seen in Oblivion.. Overlooking a valley in Nordmar, with a small village on the other side of the mountain. Xardas, I finally found you! Uh, nice tower.. Eating dinner with a couple of friends.

The mistake most people who don't like Gothic 3 do is run it on an old, crappy machine. You need a pretty powerful rig to make it smooth and pretty. The best thing about Gothic 3 is the scenery. You have a gigantic living, breathing world that's astonishingly full of detail, considering how big it is. It feels much bigger than Oblivion, for example. Also, the art design is great as this world actually feels like someone's been living in it (as opposed to Oblivion's new and shiny plastic look). If you enjoy just wandering around and explore then you'll have a blast in Gothic 3, no matter what. Lots and lots to see and do! About the quests.. there are some stinkers, but since there are over 550 quests, I'm sure you'll find some that suits your taste. I've found plenty of great quests so far. And none of the "quest marker" bull**** of Oblivion either. This game is DIFFICULT. You will get beat up a lot, you will get lost a lot and you will tear out your hair in search for an answer to some of the quests. You need to enjoy a challenge to enjoy Gothic (any of the games!) because these games do NOT hold your hand during any part of the game. You're on your own. Some people like it (mememe), some people are better off playing Bioware's extended corridors. The atmosphere is something I enjoy a lot. For some reason only Gothic 1, 2 & 3 has managed to catch that special Gothic atmosphere, and I can't even put my finger on what makes them special. But it's just a matter of taste. Either you like the humour, the gritty setting and the varied NPC's or you don't. There's nothing "old" about it though. The weakest parts of Gothic 3 is the combat. If you take your time and learn the various moves at your disposal, you'll be able to have some fun in melee combat. The sad part about it is that it's easier to just click the mouse like a madman and you'll win the fights most often anyhow. It's a step back from the combat in Gothic 2. On the other hand, the bow is now manually aimed and much more fun to play with. One step forward, one step back.. The other weak parts is, of course, the bugs. Even after all those patches, it still crashes to desktop every once in a while. There are also quests where the quest-giver says "Go east" and you're supposed to go west.. And everytime you answer "Yes" in a dialogue, you can clearly hear your character say "No".. And I think I have about five quests in my quest-list that are impossible to complete because one of the key NPC's have croaked.. Gothic 3 isn't flawless, but, for me, the positives far outweigh the negatives. I love this game!

I'm still playing Gothic 3. Despite some issues, this is a fantastic game. I mean, I have Bioshock installed, but whenever I feel like playing I go to Gothic 3 instead.
