Last time I built a computer, the PSU came with one cable missing. It took me two weeks to get that cable sent to me. So basically I take on average between one day and two weeks to build a new computer.

Eidos Montreal working on a new Deus Ex game
mkreku replied to funcroc's topic in Computer and Console
Good news! I never thought there'd be a Deus Ex 2 (or will they call it Deus Ex 3? I'd rather just forget about Invisible war myself) after the latest fiasco. Let's hope the new developers manages to pinpoint what made Deus Ex such a success in the first place! A good start is to realize that unified ammo isn't even a good idea for the most mindless of the console kids.. -
When I was in Hungary in 1992 and was offered a hotel room in Budapest's finest hotel for $20 per night.. but I declined the offer and went to a c0ckroach infested hostel where the rooms cost like.. 50 cent per night! I mean.. $20 is nothing!! The hotel was so exclusive that they had limousines drive into the foyer on a red carpet and there were like ten people for every car who took care of the guests and luggage. An absolutely beautiful hotel it was too.. I huddled on a tent bed with a huge c0ckroach in my pants that night PS. C0ck should really not be in the profanity filter database.

STALKER 2, now with vehicles, player stats (like a RPG) and a true open-ended world!! One can dream. -
I think my dead cat knows what kind of games Hades likes by now.

****! I just read a preview of Bioshock by someone who went over to New York to try the game out himself: "Action fanatics can raise their expectations a couple of notches. Friends of exploration and a subtle and atmospheric experience can lower theirs." "You who await the perfect combination of RPG and action will probably have to wait a bit longer. Bioshock is extreme action right from the start." Source: The Swedish gaming magazine Gamereactor: http://www.gamereactor.se/ No wonder they haven't showed us anything except that super-lame Big Daddy

Hey, meta, I've got your first assignment for you right here! What's "I want people to think I'm intelligent, therefore I quote Latin" in Latin? -

There's a DX10 demo of a game out. Call of Juarez is an excellent test for DX10 enabled cards. I saw a video from it and it looked awesome, but I can't seem to find the link right now. The movie was 178 MB large though..

For some reason I always end up taking pictures when it's already dark. Very convenient considering I bought a superzoom camera! Anyhow, two new pictures of Uppsala By Night: This is a very old church near where I live. It's built around an old viking runestone. I was experimenting with a more "vivid" colour scheme and it looked really good on the camera screen, But when I got home I noticed the weird effect around the lamps. Too bad, but otherwise a pretty good picture. Not too blurry, considering. This is a bar underneath Uppsala's biggest church. The Fyris stream flows in front of the bar. Unfortunately I wasn't able to keep the camera still enough (the shot is a bit blurred, most noticeable in the light areas) but pretty decent otherwise. Annoying also that I accidentally cut the spires of the church. Better luck next time.

I have been without Internet access for three days. It's been the worst three days of my life.

Deja vu! Anyhow: "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." - Samuel Beckett

I fear going back to Nvidia's drivers again. Also, I prefer the picture quality of the ATI cards (even though I'm not even sure what the difference is). But who in their right mind would buy a Radeon 2X00 product right now? Teh suck.

Yeah, I've noticed. I can't shoot them in the legs to cripple them, so it takes whatever I am fighting at the moment exactly ONE battle round to run up to me and hit me in the face with a sledgehammer. There's no penalty for running huge distances in this game so the range becomes worthless. Unless I'll be able to one-shot-kill enemies later in the game?

I've recently restarted playing Arcanum again. I must say it's much easier to get into after a few weeks of playing Fallout 2. Last time I think I had played Gothic 2 right before trying to play Arcanum.. that didn't quite work out. I'm trying to concentrate on building a sharpshooting gun-wielding lockpicking.. nothing. This game annoys me. When you start the game you have (I think) something like 8 attributes to spend points on, 8 disciplines of technology, lots and lots of spells, lots and lots of skills. That means you have lots and lots of options to build a really unique and interesting character. Except the game gives you 5 points to spend, divided on ALL of those variables! GEE, THANKS! Since combat is pretty important in most games, I spent two points on perception (needed for guns) and two points on my guns. That left me with ONE point for all the rest of the interesting spells/skills/attributes/disciplines.. "OK, never mind, I'll spend the five points I get the next level more wisely", I thought to myself. Except.. you get ONE ****ing point to spend each level!! I guess my smooth-talking, sharpshooting, self-healing, lockpicking ladies man is totally out of the question. I don't understand why they did the character development system like this. It feels like I'm missing 80% of the game because I always lack the skill to do this, lack the attribute to do that or lack the spell to do squat. Oh, did I mention that spending that one point of bliss does absolutely jack ****? I added another point to my gun skills last night (I have 3 out of 5).. And I still have only a 67% chance of hitting someone in broad daylight.. from standing as close to my enemy as is possible in the game! Imagine if there's a distance or darkness around.

Microsoft promised much more efficient gaming and more performance with their new OS. They lied. "In the end, it looks like the the new, bulky, poorly supported operating system is at the root of it all." Source: http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== XP still beats Vista in every game except one rare case.

Finished Fallout 2 last night. Had to rush through the last parts of the game because of a nasty bug that kept trying to crash my game at the most inopportune moments. The Horrigan battle was a real anticlimax. I activated some turrets and the first round they got two huge criticals that took away almost 500 of his hitpoints. So I fired a few weak shots at him myself and ended my turn. The second round the turrets get two huge criticals again and the battle is over! How's that for a final showdown? Then then ending bugged out on me. Out of all the places it's supposed to show, the narrator spoke on two or three of them. All the others just flew by me, giving me no chance to actually read what happened to all the places I had dealt with. ANNOYING. Whatever Bethesda does with Fallout 3, I sure hope they spend at least ONE hour on Quality Assurance! That's one hour more than they must have spent with Fallout 2.

You need to go to another thread. Shoo shoo, mighty moderator!

OK, I may have to change my theme music to THIS: The Electric Six - Gay Bar

This is a bit annoying. What would you be looking at exactly? Bethesda has never done a Fallout game before, so what exactly are you comparing with? Surely, you must realize that looking at Oblivion is a bit pointless, at least when it comes to art design? Give them a chance to at least START the series before going all doom and gloom on their asses.

Probably cat food. Weather's been bad in Sweden these last few days. Apparently my interest in taking pictures is very weather dependent..
