I ran outside for the first time this year. A neat little 6 mile run. I must have worked out better than I thought during winter time because I wasn't even tired when I got back home. Good times! Next time I'll bring my camera even when I'm running (I bring it everywhere nowadays)

Am I the only one who feels that this entire generation of GPU's is a bit.. disappointing?

Bah, who cares how it goes from here? You've asked her, you've taken the leap so you've already won. The rest is just bonus. Go out, enjoy yourself and feel no pressure whatsoever.

Alien Syndrome for the Commodore 64! The speed with which the screen scrolled after your character(s) was about half of the speed with which your character(s) moved. What happened was that you were always pushing against the edge of the screen in the direction you wanted to move while waiting for the scroll to catch up. It usually ended up with death as you ran into some enemy that had yet to be drawn on screen. Incredibly frustrating, especially considering that the levels were timed and you HAD to hurry!! ARGH! That's actually the only time I've ever stopped playing a game because of camera frustration. Almost 20 years ago.

Ok, not exactly looking forward to this, but it was so weird that I had to add it anyhow: Winterheart's Guild, a post apocalyptic action-RPG "The game is set an unknown number of years in the future, in an unnamed location that resembles a wintery post-apocolyptic Finland, but is not set in a specific real-world location." W.T.F?!? http://www.winterheartsguild.com/wg/index.htm

Hmm. I thought that was confirmed to be a "feature" only present in the pirated version of the game. Apparently the developers decided to put in some extra checks in the copy protection scheme which made the enemy soldier aims ridiculously accurate, your own aim ridiculously bad (I believe you could even accidentally shoot yourself!) and sometimes you were teleported into one of the birds circling above the battlefield. I've played a bit of ArmA and even though the enemy soldiers aim a lot better than I do, it's not unrealistic. It is a very difficult game though. I'm stuck in a mission where I'm supposed to direct two Humvee's through a dark night and against enemy soldiers equipped with RPG's. I can barely control my own character and they want me to handle a whole platoon plus cars!

Just adding a picture I took on a festival I was at today: A Swedish girl. Just for Kirottu. Now stop whining, finn.

Just look in the lower right corner of the main menu screen. If it doesn't say 1.02, then yeah, you're as screwed as I am. The game bugged out in the Ghost Farm for me.. It became unplayable as all exits stopped working. And to make matters worse, applying the patch meant having to start over. At least I could fix some of the stupid decisions I made when I created my former character. Linkie? (Because I will have the UK nerfed version ... :| ... does this mean I need to restart, too? ) Children's patch: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php...&file_id=78 US 1.02 patch: http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php...&file_id=82 Fortunately, I didn't have to restart after introducing children to my game. I just followed the instructions and turned my UK version into a US and added a few children-shaped sprites.

The missions could do with some variety as well and the AI needed a tweaking. Sometimes calculating movements took too long even on those small, random maps. The Panzerkleins were also kinda shoveled into the story and the game. I never felt the maps were too similar. But I agree that it sometimes took a ridiculous amount of time just to calculate a soldier going from standing to squatting position (for example). I'm one of the few people who didn't take offence to the Panzerkleins. Perhaps because I found this ridiculously overpowered plasma weapon just before I had any real contact with them? I could basically one-shot-kill them from across any map. I'm still playing Fallout 2, but I think I have to start over. I forgot to patch the stupid game before starting the character I've been building for the last week (only up to level 11 or so, but still..). I've downloaded patch 1.02 (which seems to be the last official patch) and applied it. Anyone have any suggestions for other patches that need applying? I looked at some of the fan-made patches over at NMA, but that place stinks of their elitism and fanboi arrogance. Example from the changelog of one of their patches: - Moved the worldmap location of Raider Base a bit; Oh yeah, that really needed fixing, didn't it? I mean, of course a fanboi like you would know better than the developers where the Raider Base should be. Utterly ridiculous change! I don't want kind of crap in my game. But are there any serious BUGFIXING patches out there that I am missing?

I'm trying to be excited about what he says, but I think it takes another masterpiece of Deus Ex dimensions before I start trusting him again. The moronic design decisions he let pass in the development of Deus Ex: Invisible War are just too grave for me to believe he still has the understanding of what makes a game great. Sorry, Warren.

I have never gotten a virus from my ATI drivers. In fact, the **** up that was the 9x.xx Nvidia drivers made me switch back from Nvidia to ATI. They were worse than a virus. Even though I had to buy the last of the seventh generation of GPU's at an inflated prize (X1950XTX) just before they released generation eight, I felt that it was worth it if only to get back to the safety of the ATI drivers. I did a search on Google (like I did a year ago or so, the last time we had this discussion): "ATI driver problem" = 1,530,000 hits. "Nvidia driver problem" = 1,590,000 hits. (You get basically the same result if you add the word "graphic" between the brand name and the word driver) Last time, the ATI hits were marginally more. This time the Nvidia hits were marginally more. The tide has turned. (Yes, I know it's scientifically worthless. Yes, I know it doesn't actually tell us anything. Now shut up.)

Two Worlds (aka Blatant Oblivion Rip-off): http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?play...id=2719&s=l Still, if it's like Oblivion but without auto-scaling of enemies, I'm there.

Congratulations, dude! A girl, huh? Don't buy her any pink toys or clothes. Give her a football instead.

If only the maps in Silent Storm had been bigger.. It was so.. claustrophobic to play around in those tiny black boxes containing the minuscule maps.

Uh.. I think I'll pass on the XTX! "ATI Radeon HD 2900 XTX, Doomed from the Start The less than stellar performance benchmarks are no surprise to board partners and AMD insiders. Two independent ATI board builders told DailyTech that Radeon HD 2900 XTX will not be a part of their initial portfolios. Given the additional memory cost and bulky card footprint, it seems unlikely the XTX will ever see the light of day." Source: http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=7052 ATI are teh doomed!!1
