Seems I wasn't the only one noticing this: Since I saw this on Espn: http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=3830831 I wonder what's going on between those two. It would be devastating for their Olympic team if they can't play together.
  2. It didn't used to be! I remember trusting the profanity filter when going on a tirade and "cvm guzzling whore" (with the u) got through to my surprise I take no responsibility if that's why they changed it
  3. God, you guys make this game sound so bad. And I even bought it, I just can't force myself to install it! It cost nothing on a sale here in Sweden.. that's my excuse. One day I'll play it.. after the horrible memories of Jade Empire has faded enough.. Does anyone think there will be a Jade Empire 2, by the way?
  4. Hmm, they didn't fix the Oasis quest glitch. I got stuck there because two NPC's that were supposed to stand inside an "activation circle" (the place on the map where you have to enter before a quest triggers) walked away and never returned. It happens if you do things in the "wrong" order (according to how the quest designers imagined people would do). Not that it really matters, I would also rather see the constant crashing go away. For me it's so bad that I have to restart the computer (almost) every time the game crashes because there's no way to return to Windows behind the dead game.
  5. I don't think the aversion towards Vista is a notion exclusive to Vista. It's just that, if you make an OS that takes up 16 GB on the harddrive and runs poorly on any system with less than 2 GB RAM, you expect the OS to make up for those system demands with something. But it doesn't. It isn't faster, it isn't better, it isn't more efficient. In fact, it's the opposite! So basically Vista has the worst of two worlds: bloated system demands and worse performance (compared to XP). So why should anyone switch to Vista..? To be able to utilize more than 2 GB RAM? Unless you only need more than 2 GB RAM because your OS takes up the first 2 GB.. But who doesn't hate bloatware? I am always impressed by programs that take up little space and does wonders with what it uses. NOD32 used to be small, fast and efficient, for example. Irfanview used to be small and extremely efficient. Netscape died when it became bloatware. ICQ died when it became bloatware. And so on.
  6. That's the only thing he ever does. It's really not worth trying to decipher his failed role-playing grammar for that.
  7. Oohh, from the creators of Samorost, a new adventure game (a flash based game on the internet, look it up): Machinarium http://www.machinarium.com/ That one minute trailer looks lovely!
  8. Eurogamer talks about the THREE new downloadable quest packs for Fallout 3: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/fallout-...nterview?page=1 I must say I am intrigued. I didn't touch the DLC for Oblivion, but I actually liked Fallout 3 so maybe I'll jump in this time? Anchorage sounds lame, but The Pitt and Broken Steel sounds interesting.

I don't think getting Tavares would solve any of Ottawa's problems (unless they used him as trade bait). They're not lacking up front (with Heatley, Spezza and Alfredsson), what they need is defence and a goalie. They should go for Viktor Hedman, and trade for a solid goaltender.
  11. Ok, so I tried another browser based RPG today, Dead Frontier, but this one seems rather good. Not only is it based in an post apocalyptic city overrun with zombies, it's also free for real, ie. everything is available to you even if you don't pay and the only thing you do get when you pay up is access to good equipment. Also, it seems there's a multiplayer component which I am guessing is like the co-op in Left 4 Dead! Top down view, flash based zombie RPG with co-op, can it get better? Only one problem.. it's still a beta so there's not much more to do than just run around, kill zombies (I'm using a knife!) and level up. Still worth to check out: http://www.deadfrontier.com/
  12. Could you please explain to me what this means? Does it mean you only have time for one more game in your life and your life is not expected to last 100 more hours? Does it mean you only have time for one more game before hanging up your gamer skates for good and 100 hours is too long because you're in a hurry to retire? Does it mean that you have a limited amount of hours left to play in your life and you'd rather spend them on ten ten hour long games instead of one 100 hour long game? Does it mean your wallet explodes unless you get to fork out 10x$50 (for 100 hours of playtime) instead of 1x$50 (for that 100 hour game)? Does it mean you have to play it from beginning to end in one sitting and 100 hours would most probably kill you? Seriously? You don't have time for a 100 hour game? Do you have time for ten shorter games (8-10 hours each)? Don't you expect to play 100 more hours of games in the remainder of your life? Do you expect to be buying any more games in the future? Don't you think they'll all add up to more than 100 hours sooner or later? Please enlighten me.
  13. I started playing some weird game called Sryth (I think): http://www.sryth.com It's almost like playing ne of those old adventure books where you had to make decisions and then turn to the correct page to see what your decisions entailed. It's very relaxing though and can easily be played while you do other stuff. Unfortunately the creator wants money to unlock all the game content.. and not only a one time sum, he wants people to subscribe to his game! I mean, seriously, World of Warcraft can get away with it because of the constant updates and massive world (and addicting gameplay), but a text based, browser based, home made game that absolutely tiny..? Uh.. right.
  14. Your topic is turn-based.

Yeah, what a great revenge!! Grr, why couldn't they have played against Canada as they did against Russia earlier in the tournament?! I should have seen this coming after the game against the Slovaks. I was hoping it was because of the Slovaks that the Swedes played so (relatively) badly and not because of a downward spiral.. Oh well.
  16. I finished GTA4. It's easily the weakest GTA so far, counting from GTA3 and onward. I mean, hunting for 200 tiny pigeons all over an enormous city without any reward unless you actually find all 200..? Does ANYONE think that's fun? That's basically all there is to do except main story missions. The story was also weaker than usual and the ending was a let-down. It just trudged on in the same way as it started for about 30 hours and then it ended. Nothing more, nothing less. No conclusion or satisfying finale, just an ending. And who took the decision to make every character in the game a 'friend' of yours that you have to pamper (ie. doing the same thing over and over and over) with every five minutes?! GOD that was annoying. Even the races were weaker than usual. Not only were they that easy that I never had to replay one and I never lost one, the driving physics were so loose the cars felt like wet soaps in a bathtub. And that was BEFORE the rain.. It's still a good game, but seriously overrated.

Fantastic game between Sweden and Slovakia in the Junior World Championships tonight! It was fast, exciting, physical and talented! And Sweden won, after being down by one from both the first and the second period (5-3) :D Now Canada has to win against Russia in the other semi final and we'll get our revenge against Canada in the final (Sweden lost in over-time last year..).
  18. What he means is that you can get the exact same chip (the E8400) for a LOT less, just slightly factory underclocked. A quick tweak in the motherboard BIOS and you'll have a normal E8400 up and running a good 10-20% faster than a E8600. Of course, you can overclock the E8600 too but you'll reach the same results as with the E8400.. which is cheaper.
  19. Dear diary, Today I crossed off another title from my dwindling list of games I want to play. I found out that they misspelled Thornton "Thorton" so I can't like this game anymore. My reasons might not be logical to some but at least my drama queen self will take my little temper tantrums to another part of the board now. Sincerely, R.
  20. Don't try to avoid the subject. We know why you're playing Am.. er Fallout 3 all of a sudden.

Nasty accident in the Tampa - Washington game where a player (Jamie Heward) fell head first into the rink. And what do they show? Commercials. Are they even going to tell us if he's OK? I hate North American TV.
  22. You know what I just realized? I realized that Amata (your interest/girlfriend in Vault 101) was voiced by this girl: Odette Yustman Now I like Fallout 3 even more!!
  23. They also missed this: Of course, it was supposed to come out in 2008.. and the official site is down..
  24. Apparently GTA4 keeps track of your longest playing time (in the stats menu) and it turns out the longest I've been playing it for is 4 hours 23 minutes. I'm getting old.
  25. Still playing GTA4. It's growing on me. When I started I felt it was a bit boring because there's not much else to do than the missions themselves. But I held out (through a billion go here, kill that guy, escape the police missions..) and the game seems to have opened up a bit now. Still not much to do except the missions but at least I now have four different quest givers and a bit of variety to the missions. Oh, and sometimes I've been able to participate in races. I love that, although the first 5-6 I've run were way too easy. I'm hoping there will be more races unlocked soon and that they'll be more difficult too. I met this guy Jeff who had issues with his wife. I sorted his problems but . I didn't know what to do so I let it pass and I haven't heard anything about it since. I'm wondering if I could have handled things differently..
