  1. Rise of the Argonauts is out next week in Sweden.
  2. Seriously, I have no idea who this is, but.. LISTEN TO THE MAN! Please!
  3. I'M IN LOVE AND SHE'S WONDERFUL but she's unavailable to me so I hate my life and eveery woman I ever meet. I'm not very drunk.
  4. You can't make a sweeping statement like that. Most submachine guns use the same ammo as pistols and are in the same weight category (almost, just a tad bit heavier) and the damage they do is roughly equal. Accuracy is also basically the same as with pistols (if held one-handed), except some submachine guns have a shoulder support which obviously makes them easier to aim with. But, for example, a Micro Uzi is neither more powerful nor more accurate than your ordinary pistol.

  6. I really liked the combat system in Gothic (and Gothic 2), where you had an action button on the mouse. When you pressed a direction and the action button, your character behaved in different ways. If you pressed forward + action button, you'd thrust forward. If you pressed left/right + action button, you'd do a slash and a sidestep. If you pressed backwards + action button, you'd stand still and block for a split second (active blocking, you could not hold up your block indefinitely). There were no combos, other than the ones you strung together yourself (thrust forward, strafe around the target while he's stunned, slash him while strafing etc.). It gave combat a sense of player skill which some like and some don't. Since this will be an action RPG, I'd prefer it if you let player skill take part in the equation. Otherwise I don't really see the meaning of having the action part at all.

I know this to be true, but still.. the guy has 37 points in 27 games! The expectations on this kid are huuuge when you think he's off to a slow start and he's still on a point-per-game pace. It's like everyone expects him to score at least twice in EVERY game!
  8. IIRC he gets money from the Escapist for all his games, or he writes em off as a job expense. That's what I'd assume. It would make no sense for a professional reviewer to pay for all of his games, but as often as he brings up the cost of games and complains about having to pay for them, it makes me wonder. The way it works is that you have to let every known distributor know you exist, promote your site as being bigger than it really is and hope they'll put you on their mail-out list. If they do (and consider you big enough), you'll get sent review copies of the games a few days before release. Sometimes you get them sent late (if some huge magazine/online site wants exclusivity) and sometimes not at all (Rockstars games usually only get sent to the biggest ones). When you don't get them sent home to you, you either pirate them (which is risky because in Sweden they check up on companies and their licenses from time to time) or buy them yourself.
  9. Not really. Just spend lots and lots of skill points on boosting your hitpoints. The healing stuff is percentage based so they heal as much whether you have 50 hp or 500 hp. The damage done to you by enemies is always the same though so what kills you in one hit when you have 50 hp takes ten hits when you have 500. And it will still only take one healing potion to get up to full health.
  10. It sure as hell won't have co-op.
  11. I had to authenticate my game three times with three different programs and they kept crashing and messing up my computer. Rockstar Social Club, Games For Windows Live and the actual game itself all needed to assuring I wasn't pirating something. I think it took me TWO HOURS before I was actually able to start up the damn game itself.
  12. Yes, I do. Two reasons: hugging each other after a fight is considered good sportsmanship in MMA. Second, I live in the 21:st century so I don't have to hide behind pathetic homophobic insinuations.
  13. Buy GTA4 for the PC. Please. Do it.
  14. None! I just think they're really cool

At least my favourite Swedish Elite League team is doing well. Go Lule
  16. It's almost exactly like the Gothics. It's supposed to be closer to Gothic than Gothic 2 or 3 though. Denser and tighter. Smaller gameworld, more dialogue choices. Story divided into chapters again (four this time). Third person action RPG with real time combat. With a little luck the combat will be more like in Gothic 2 (with active blocking and circle strafing and stuff) than Gothic 3 (broken).
  17. Thanks, funcroc, you creepy newsstalker. Looks quite OK to me. Perhaps a little desolate. I'm used to seeing those scavengers (large featherless birds) in every screenshot. But this isn't Gothic, it's Risen. I'm quite undecided about the whole "going to consoles" decision. On the one hand, it usually means they'll have to pass through Microsoft's QA (should mean less bugs, thank god). On the other hand, it may mean a lot of compromises for the PC version. A consolified Gothic? Hmm. Also, by going to the Xbox 360, I'm sure we won't be seeing any functioning brothels anymore. Nor any weed smoking. And it usually means the game will be easier.. (Americans seem to prefer to be handheld through the first 25% of every game). Oh well. Still looking forward to it!
  18. That's the funniest video I've seen in this thread. "A breeze rolled in.." Haha :D
  19. I'd better be able to nail that Mina Tang girl or there'll be hell to pay.
  20. PLEASE GOD LET SODA BE A PRETTY GIRL WHO'S ALSO A NYMPHOMANIAC
  21. Or they could do it like it is in GTA4: when you run at full speed you lose some mobility (ie. turning fast). Preferably I'd prefer it there were three different modes: sneak (slow), jogging (normal) and sprint (high speed, short distance). I've never walked in a game that's had a walk mode.
  22. I still say they should imitate Fedor's style to 100%. Two pictures: Fedor vs. Hong Man Choi. No, that is not photoshopped. Hong Man IS that big. And this is how it ended.. Fedor by flying armbar!
  23. Haha, no, I meant actual buns. It was one of those old fashioned stoves where you burn wood and put the buns above a fire. The pressure from the boom sent a shockwave down the chimney which blew the lids open and the buns flew out. Or something like that, I wasn't there, I've only been told about it.
  24. No, when you break the sound barrier you actually break it. It's both a visual and audible experience. At a distance it sounds like thunder, close up it's like a gigantic explosion and a shockwave. It can easily break a lot of windows. A friend's mother had her buns fly out of the oven when a jet plane did a low fly-by above her house (her boyfriend is a fighter pilot). She was not impressed.
