  1. Weren't you the one who told me that it was pretty obvious that Kreia didn't lie to you? I don't remember the context to be honest, but I am just saying it would not be outlandish to justify it that way. Granted, it would bother me more than a little bit if Bioware completely ignored KOTOR2... The background for Miriluka mentions that Visas Marr helped rebuild the Jedi order. So they're definitely not completely ignoring it. They're probably working on what was 'canonised' into the SW bible afterwards. IIRC that's a lot of the side characters, but Revan and Exile have not been written up a bit more than is necessary. Wookiepedia probably has something that is close to the official version, for those who really care.
  2. Wouldn't be the first time trailers for bio games give grossly simplified or outright wrong information. Still not going to buy into the game until there's an os x client.

  4. Why, do you resent his success? Actually, I feel sorry for him. Over the years he has become more and more bitter about the taxes he pays. He complains about money and the government almost constantly, and I've avoided hanging out with him for the last while. Money has become a central focus of his life and that seems fairly sad. I know he works hard for his money, I appreciate that, but I wouldn't trade places with him. A couple years ago, my wife and I went to dinner with him and his spouse. I go out to dinner about once a month, given our family budget as teachers with young kids. We went to Indian food and the bill was about $60 for the four of us. We split the bill, but he felt it was necessary to complain about how expensive it was. It put a damper on the evening. It just seems a tacky thing to do. That is the way I feel about a lot of the complaints of the rich. Try to enjoy what you have! Classy...
  5. Well, I did praise the nanite effect. I just think that it's unforgivable to use bad cgi for something that can be done with practical effects for little trouble (aforementioned bumper, helicopters). In fact, I was raging a while back on the topic of when it became acceptable to use ultra fake-looking cgi helicopters instead of the real thing. I mean, if miniatures look better than your cgi, clearly something has gone horribly wrong!
  6. I actually had to go read a review from a site I generally trust, and even they were a lot more forgiving than I was. My issues weren't so much with what would be called 'effects', than with places where, say helicopters or an epic bumper on a Hummer were painfully obvious CGI. At least the reviewer agreed with me on the abysmal acting so I don't need to wonder about somebody pumping hallucinogens into my water. Ah, reading further on in the blu-ray.com review: 'About the only complaint is that a few of the effects shots look rather fake, particularly under the 1080p spotlight[...]' I was watching it in 1080i, but I guess some other source would have made them less blatantly obvious...
  7. Handbags at dawn? But, no. IIRC that was Josh, no? Could be. I wondered, as it sounded a bit too advanced for Nightshape, tbh.
  8. ... I can't remember when I've last seen CGI that fake... But I won't ruin it for you, then.
  9. Cue Nightshape saying the RPG fans are incredibly forgiving of bad gameplay mechanics. I think I belong to that group. As long as I don't have to waste my time openworld roaming, I'm happy.
  10. I've heard others say the same, and I can see why, since the DX method eliminates both chance and personal (player) skill. I'm sure the same people also complain about minigames and random skillchecks. And everything else, really.
  11. Never mind the fact that people seem to be accepting his version of the story, and disregarding the police comments. The article linked in the first post is sensationalist and one-sided to begin with. Threatening the US president is a felony in the US. So if you do it from abroad, you get on the same list with people who've belonged to the communist party (IIRC that list is also still in existence, or at least was not too long ago). Tough luck.
  12. G.I. Joe. (It was on TV). Dear Lord it was bad. Almost Avengers/League of Extraordinary Gentlemen lousy, only saved from that eternal pit of damnation by the ridiculously hot Sienna Miller and Rachel Nichols + the Deus Ex Invisible Warry nanite effect.
  13. Revenant + inferno ammo + GSB (against scions). Praetorians are a lot like tanks, they need infantry support to be deadly. If you can kill the husks/collectors that they have with them, it's easy to outmaneuvre them, even on insanity. Party composition is of course vital, too, Miranda is extremely useful on all difficulty levels, but her Warp and Overload are vital on insanity. I can't for the death of me remember who else I had on the collector ship with the Soldier (see, closet neanderthal here) I've use for insanity runs in both games. Probably Zaeed, he has high dps and a decent anti-armor power. Could've been Grunt too. Have to see if I have a suitable save left over. Derelict Reaper is hard(ish), but nowhere as bad the collector ship and Horizon - well, unless you are an Adept, I guess, and there's tactics for even that, as pointed out above.
  14. ... IRA (factions) with a communist bent is not anything new, is it?
  15. Hopefully they won't make the combat more actioney, like with DA2. The only info we've had from within Bioware was the series of slides from a presentation ME2's lead gameplay designer Christina Norman held at GDC. I think the vibe was 'they think they might have gone a bit too far with the streamlining'. I don't think we're going to see any changes towards more 'actiony' on that front. Of course, this was before it turned out everybody played Soldier, the class designed for neanderthals. They probably are going to cut down on the dialogue trees, and move more into an 'interactive cutscene'/Alpha Protocol kind of direct progression - if I'm reading the info and the way LotSB was set up correctly.
  16. Indeed. Too bad it was replaced with a worse vehicle, and gameplay friendlier (to the point of contrived arcadeness) level design.
  17. Driving over impossibly mountaneous terrain > doing stupid platforming on amazingly hovercraft sized rocks floating in lava.
  18. I must be better in ME2 than I thought. It's a difficulty bump for sure, I'll give you that.
  19. In addition to hangovers, we obviously also share a similar taste in women!
  20. DAMNIT! I have some space in the basement. You can borrow my Xbox as well as i do not play it at the moment. "Sveriges sak
