  1. My professional opinion (as an ex-prosecutor) is that the case stinks. Still, just looking into it and actually even deciding to take the case to court are, of course, different things. And it's not like I have anything close to the full info here, but this kind of back-and-forthing doesn't look good, does it?
  2. Clearly he's just extrapolating from what his parents should obviously have done... Sigh, gorram crazies.
  3. The new ME2 DLC trailer's had me squeeing like, well, something that squees a lot. It's at the main ME page and a bunch of other places. Lookin' good!
  4. Steel is great for acoustics. Good to see it was considered, at least!
  5. This post made me want to say that 'Telltale games asked Michael J Fox if he was interested in performing in the role, but he just shook his head in reply'. I think I'm feeling kind of nasty today. Probably comes from waking up to a phone call from the ex. Nothing like a sultry reminder of what you don't have any more.
  6. It's just me lashing out randomly, since I apparently can't ignore the guy (or maybe anybody else on the bio forums and their miserable forum software).
  7. The grammar! It's tearing my soul apart! D: Wait until you run into this LordMarrick guy. I swear he has to be the alt of some bioware employee, he's like a distilled stereotype of stupid gamer. If there's a word that can be spelled wrong, he'll do it wrong, and half of his posts are just... wrong. In fact, random example:
  8. I have the discs somewhere, starting to think I might need to give this a play at some point. I got it at a point when I wasn't too interested in gaming and lost all my save progress (think it was still early days in the game, though) in one of the multiple crashes my only non-Apple manufactured computer suffered...
  9. damn I can't believe Bio made her "canon" or whatever you call it, because she's like the only dragon you can slay in DAO (final boss doesn't count), they actually think most people would pass a chance like that? or these cutscenes are taking place before the warden had the chance to kill her... I am confused Yes, you are. DA2 takes place partially before you have the chance to kill Flemeth. Already in DAO it's said outright that killing Flemeth's body isn't quite enough to be rid of her for good. Still confused?
  10. Well, it doesn't seem to make much sense, but that wasn't my reaction to it.
  11. Too bad Vol's no longer around to lay hands on him...
  12. If memory serves.. that was the Tome of Magic.. (which also introduced Wild Mages for 2nd Ed).. Just for the geek points. Yep, pretty sure it was that.
  13. You should try submitting that as a sample of your writing at Bethesda. They'd probably hire you. Nah, they'd have to politely turn him down, suspecting that it would be too advanced for their core audience.
  14. Spell level. In fact Horrid Wilting's PnP version might also work that way (Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting... I guess Abi-Dalzim was 'inappropriate' even back then), but unfortunately I don't have my 2e Spell Compendium (or whatever book it was in) with me at work.
  15. But it has to be done. The biggest problem a thesis writer can have is becoming too enamored of what they have written. Sometimes parts have to be cut away completely, sometimes moved radically. It hurts, but especially if you're going to keep on doing academic writing (which IIRC was the plan), you need to get used to it. N (who is totally going to get back to his dissertation now. Right after some Subway... )
  16. Pretty sure I never used defender of easthaven. Looking at the stats on gamebanshee, still not sure why I should.
  17. No, I think it's something else, since apparently every time you go partying I feel terrible. I suspect voodoo influence. Oh yes, that's right isn't it? If you let me know I can try to avoid certain days, and in return I'll try to give you advance warning of my binges. Then you can lay in the painkillers and irn bru. Sounds like a deal. I need to be functioning on this thursday and on the 18th of October, but that's about it.
  18. [pedant]Ranger/Clerics get it too, they access all druid spells which is why it is so twinky.[/pedant] Am I remembering right that in addition to ranger/clerics, also dualing a spellcasting ranger into cleric gave them access to both spell lists? IIRC I had a PC with that combo + flail of ages + crom faeyr... Now THAT was twinky.
  19. No, I meant king, but its starting to look like the info I relied on might have been false. Time to go finish that DN character, so I know for sure, I guess. edit
  20. I think that it was basically their stated intention to creat a mish-mash of (80s) sci-fi. I think they succeeded a lot better in this than they did with the DAO setup.
  21. Grad school... the worst parts of work and college... Just throwing that out there, not regretting any life decisions or anything!
  22. And as a Dward Noble (just a different kingdom). What? I'm pretty sure the Dwarf Noble cannot become king. I recall discussions on this on bioware social.
  23. ME2 is Mass Effect 2? It just had downloadable content, yes? I've never had a problem with paying for additional downloadable content or expansions and the like (as mentioned before). It had Day-1 DLC that comes free with original copies. And entertainingly costs roughly the same as the difference between a used and a new copy bought from Gamestop. A lot of people apparently had a problem with that, I didn't and don't.
  24. No, I think it's something else, since apparently every time you go partying I feel terrible. I suspect voodoo influence.
