I think they'll stick to Hawke for that particular reason, since there were a lot fewer directions for him/her to develop in.

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Nepenthe replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Mostly burned out on fantasy, but last year or so has been so dry on releases, I can handle (or just have to handle) the three fantasy games being basically the only games of any value coming out in the next ~6+ months. Downside is that both Battlefield and CoD look unplayable this year, instead of the usual 1-2 day diversion I've gotten out of them.- 256 replies

I'm a gonna grab some Highland Park Thor today, after the meds having kept me off booze for a couple of weeks. Turns out you never want to drink more than when you can't....

First day of feeling almost human after a 2-week sinus infection (x2) with everything. Nice how work piles up while you're gone.

Probably time to go back and finish that degree, in any case... Hope it's in something worthwhile, or that he's at least been smart with his fairly considerable salary so far. I understand that the Rams don't currently have a QB on the roster who's started a game since 2010? I guess Josh Freeman will be keeping his phone nearby, unless they and 'skins can agree on a trade for Cousins, which everybody seems to be either rumoring or just hoping for. (Edit: looked it up, seems he's graduated with a degree in finance. Good on him.)

"I looked away instantly but smoothly, and presently glanced back" Yeah...

Should be a matter of weeks, when they roll the new 1.3 patches out.

Everything gets pirated. Freakin' open source programs freely available get pirated. In fact, the pirates that pirated the Pillars of Eternity Beta were themselves pirated, by pirates that were also themselves pirated. We're so many layers deep in pirating now that I'm not sure there is anything legitimate left in the world, it's all pirated copies of pirated copies. Sounds like pirate talk to me! If Keyrock is pirate copy himself, is it illegal to read his posts? In other news it looks like RPS don't like the new Shadowgate remake that much. I should have stopped reading when he started with that he hadn't played the original. This one's a nostalgia project if any.

Well, considering that the inquisitor can be a dwarf/elf/humie and has a total of 4 vos, I doubt that the originally (mostly) silent warden would need much more than that...

Yeah, skip.

I got a new cough syrup yesterday... and found out that I am apparently extremely susceptible to codeine (and all the other **** in it), to the point where I've been getting closed-eye hallucinations on the very moderate dosage I am on. And an anxiety attack last evening. So, I've done the only sane thing possible, and started a Californication marathon while I am at it.

I got more sick leave, so I might have to finish Dishonored. I had to abandon it when I moved here.

I hate to get technical, but I'm actually Bulgarian and Maoist.
-
Meh,been sick for over a week and gonna miss the rest of this one, too. Have enough meds I could prolly open a pharmacy.

Ok, I've playedboth of those games quite a few times and there's a lot of stuff there I can either barely remember or not at all. A LOT more stuff there than I was expecting!

Dragon Age: Inquisition vs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
Nepenthe replied to ktchong's topic in Computer and Console
Yyyyeah, twitcher, very mature. Bioware makes games for teenage girls, cdprojekt for teenage boys. I'm buying both, but at least I don't pretend it makes me anything more than what I am, a 33 year old lawyer buying games for entertainment. In fact, the only way it could be more shameful were if I considered it Serious Business :D- 256 replies

Wow, that was ugly. And is it just me or is Peyton Manning playing with a fire in his heart? I was reading on SB Nation that they think this might be it for him, especially if they win the SB. God, I hope not. Mostly because I hope Saints win this year, and the fact that I am almost certain that all the time spent talking about Manning would be replaced with Manziel, and Manning doesn't irritate me... at all, really. Ha! Manziel has flameout written all over him. Prediction by 2017 he will be out of the NFL. He flipped off the Redskins bench last night he was so frustrated by his poor play. Inaccurate passers don't survive in the NFL and running quarterbacks tend to have short careers anyway.Yeah, and we'll have to hear about him for the next 10 years, like Tebow. And Tebow was nothing compared to Manzuel, even his face just makes me want to punch him.

Not true, all the potential mrs. Nepenthes who've made past the initial interview into the actual tryouts have had those characteristics! ... Back on topic:

I think the preseason qualifies as part of the offseason for the purposes of this thread. Can't edit thread names, which is probably just as good, I'd edit this to "we're all douchenozzles" on a bad day. Of which I have plenty. Glad to see the whiners have a good showing in their first game on the new stadium *snicker*

You know I bet you're the only poster on this board who's ever climbed Mt. Motherfu--er. And you probably ran up it with a pack and rifle I'm guessing. I've blocked out nearly all of my time at Pendleton but l can gladly say that I never had to go all the way to the top of that particular beast I never wanted to go hiking or camping for some years after that Haha, while I got off easy (even comparatively, Civilian Affairs), I haven 't slept a night outdoors in these past 10 years. Been thinking about it for a couple of months now :D

Fully agree with the latter part, but have to point out that the reason for you being in the brig varies based on whether your pc did arrival or not...- 256 replies

One of the few things that sucked less in the winter (while it was -26c, the snow cushioned the rocks).

Last time I looked, he hasn't been charged with anything (well, not in Sweden, anyway) and is just "wanted for questioning". Of course, since they can't use the European arrest warrant on him for a second time in the same crime, the difference is mostly academic, since it's a practical certainty he'll be jailed pending trial. The stuff I find odd is that 1) a local prosecutor, under whose authority these cases usually fall, had already decided that there wasn't sufficient cause to pursue the case, but she was overruled by the national-level "Director of Prosecution"* 2) The Swedes insistence that, when Assange has not been charged with any crime, he should still be extradited vs. have his statement taken by local police (which the EU system also provides for). While there is necessarily no sinister conspiracy, I think it's safe to assume that at least Assange's "celebrity status" due to Wikileaks is putting him in a different position from the Average Guy facing similar suspicions. Thus, I see no point in separating the two aspects of the case. In general, consensual sex becoming rape due to withdrawal of consent is hardly a joke and, for those involved in BDSM, a rather important point. * sure, this does happen, but unless our Swedish cousins are remarkably more efficient than we are, the 10-day time frame between the original decision and its reversal is about... 10-20 times as fast as the usual rate these things happen at?
