  1. Well, no, you are just positing a fix as necessary when you haven't managed to convince me (or apparently anyone) that there is an issue. I point again to the he-man pic, he look protected to you?
  2. You've not even convinced me that the current rpg aesthetic is "hormonal teenage male fantasy".
  3. Perpetual victimhood does wonders for careers. Find it a bit funny how people who think there is a problem with corruption in the videogame press are all misogynists to these people, but not suprised. The biggest issue here is that gaming "journalists" are almost universally male. Criticizing ****ing one's way to good reviews can thus always be dismissed as misogyny or homophobia...
  4. Oh, I agree. I never said anything about making females superior, so I'm not sure where this "femi-nazi" vibe is coming from. All I said was that it's extremely obvious, looking at the art of most CRPGs, that they're pandering to an exclusively male aesthetic. It's time that changed. The art I'm seeing for Pillars of Eternity gives me hope! Volo doesn't understand what the word feminism means. He thinks it means a hatred of men and the fact that women must be superior to men at the expense of men. He just doesn't get it. That's actually a definition for it, just not the only one.
  5. Don't worry, nobody's going to take away your two-piece bikini "armor". Sorry for dreaming of a world in which guys can actually admit to liking CRPGs in female company.Haha, yeah, dressing the women as nuns is sure going to make crpgs perfectly non-geeky!*snicker* Right, because giving the female barbarian a proper "breastplate" is totally unsexy. You kids and your boy's club...Point: missed! Not at all. If anything you're ignoring the possibility that games could be fun, and the characters attractive, without every elven priestess look like something out of Playboy. It's not about making games non-geeky. Geeky is good. It's about not scaring women away by pandering exclusively to a male market. The OP's article is evidence that maybe, just maybe, things can start changing in this smelly tree house we call CRPG fandom. But go ahead and mock me. Nothing changes if nothing changes Oh, I mistook your point. You were going with a variant of the Barbie argument: I'll start wringing my hands when the male characters stop looking like they're from the pages of "playgirl". Until then, I'll just happily play as and with beautiful virtual people.

  8. Yes, because having 2,5 billion USD in turnover means they are printing money, right? *eyeroll*
  9. It's because they were every "expert's" sexy pick to make the superbowl going into the season. They were cursed by the media. I dunno, I kept hearing just about the 9ers and the Shehawks. Though I guess neither of them is doing that well, either :D
  10. And just by semi-making that joke, it turns out Ingram, the only bright spot of the season so far, broke his hand yesterday and is out for at least a month. Here's a recap of the first two games:
  11. I have enough attractive female friends that I don't need to imagine.Allegedly.I'm an economics major. We have some really sexy women majoring in this field if study. That's true, the secondmost attractive woman I allegedly know is an economist. Law isn't actually bad on that front, if you don't mind a little ice. And now, could everbody just wake up and ****ing realize that before EA, it was MICROSOFT who was publishing Bioware's games? ****ING MICROSOFT!! It's not like they walked out on Interplay and went straight to EA, there were much darker times there in between. On the contrary, ice turns me on. At my age, when one looks for longer term, it's less desitable than it used to be...
  12. AFAIK, Front National has existed a lot longer than these other movements, which might explain the differences? That said, I fully agree with both your points and analysis.

  14. What he said. I assume from personal experience that the "protest" movements get a lot of votes from people who are just fed up with the direction of the country. Certainly Finland, which Swedish politicians are already using as an example of how to wreck your country... I think there's in an interesting political situation in most of Europe... since politicians are professionals, you should look at their parties - their employers - as corporations. And then you start understanding politics a lot better. Political parties form oligopolies, so you kind of wind up with all of them peddling the same **** at the same prize while maximizing their own profits. (The US is a duopoly, which is interesting of itself and explains IMO some of the differences.) I avoid voting professional politicians whenever I can, preferring people who've worked as lawyers, judges, policemen or with a background in economics whenever I can. Finland, at least, is lead by mediocrities who've never distinguished themselves in anything outside student politics and their respective parties.
  15. ... Saints first quarter was shades of Denver in the last Superbowl. Something's critically wrong with the team right now on both the O and D, and cutting Bailey's looking like a huge mistake (the team essentially has one cornerback and two liabilities starting right now). I can't even make a joke about "at least it's not the Redskins", because Cousins is IMO a definite upgrade over Robert Glasscannon the Third.

  17. It comes from the people who would call Bioware games **** even if they were solid platinum, just because EA is involved somehow. Makea it a but hard to find out what the actual issues with the games are!
  18. I think it's just that the Australians have showed up...
  19. Oh God, another influx if Guys Who Have It All Figured Out. Oh well, comes with the kickstarter territory, I guess. I really took it up the pooper from Obsids, though, spending 250 for a game I might get if the stars align. That's more than EAs evil ways have scored from me in ages! Judging from the colossal witcher 2 box on one of my bookshelves, cdrojekti might manage to do it, too, even if they are not my imaginary friends. (My imaginary friends are all female and attractive).
  20. What exactly are you putting in that chocolate milk?? Chloroform. That's rolled up in a carpet, noob!
  21. Since when is there a +5 katana in either soa or tob?
  22. What, there is no mod for that? And those BASTARDS at Beamdog will probably put it in! SMH
