That timing thing sure is an issue for a binge gamer such as myself. I'm going to have to relearn the responsible adult 1-3 hours an evening gaming time vs. the current start-on-release-day-and-call-in-sick-if-unable-to-finish-before-monday sprees.

Empathy isn't binary, I've known doctors without empathy, none of them were very good. The same with (defense) lawyers, you need some, but not too much.

Their target audience is people who like fence posts up their ass, remember?

Maybe but Ryan's defenses have been mediocre at best. Here's how his defenses ranked: Year / Team / Def Eff / Rank / Record 2014 Saints -11.2 31st 1-3 2013 Saints +0.3 10th 11-5 2012 Cowboys -5.4 27th 8-8 2011 Cowboys -1.8 20th 8-8 2010 Browns -1.7 26th 5-11 2009 Browns -3.8 28th 5-11 2008 Raiders -3.1 25th 5-11 2007 Raiders -1.3 24th 4-12 2006 Raiders +4.4 7th 2-14 He pulls the rabbit out of the hat in 2013 only to regress badly this season. 2004 and 2005 are not shown in that chart but the defenses in those years were both near the bottom of the league. 2 defenses ranked above the league average in 11 years is not a sterling resume. Yah, I'm still thinking he'll get a third chance based on last year's performance and the obvious personnel issues this year. Unless they want Dennis Allen back, and it's not like his head coach performance was a resounding success. Now, their secondary coach should've been sacked already for sure, and Joe Vitt, bless him, hasn't exactly shown himself to be a developer of stellar LB talent.

I'm not sure Ryan's going to get fired, certainly not if the D can show up at the degree they did this Sunday. They spent the first few games trying to compensate for their lack of CBs, which resulted in the whole D playing badly. Sunday, they seemed to abandon this and let everybody concentrate on what they did best, resulting in a much better performance overall, but still losing due to our CBs being absolutely destroyed several times. AFAIK, of our 6 draft picks, all but Cooks have been operating at less than 5 snaps per game, we spent our second round pick on a guy who's getting essentially red-shirted this year, traded away third round for cooks, waived 4th round pick before he played a snap. Drafting the best player available is good theory, but when you have ~5 starter quality safeties and 1 starter quality CB, something's gone Pete Tong.

But DA2 didn't let you use it, IIRC. Then again why do you need a whorehouse when you have Isabella, same number of VDs. You can hire bunch of male and female prostitutes to entertain you in the brothel (The Blooming Rose), so I am not sure what you mean with "DA2 didn't let you use it"? "IIRC" Anyways I never used it. Prostitution in games is stupid, paying for something that doesn't improve your stats. I suppose it's one of those "Choice & Consequences" things, though I don't think there's that many people out there who want to roleplay as someone that has to pay for companionship. I don't pay them for the companionship, I pay them to leave afterwards!!!11one

Just like in real life...

Well, DAO was just available for free. So depends on how long you want to wait...

I talked with Laidlaw once, I personally think he is awesome, a very smart and genuine guy with the unenviable task of having had to face an overly ambitious and poorly resourced project (da2).

Well that's the thing, technically he didn't murder her intentionally So the charge is murder through negligence. Its the same as someone getting drunk, having a car crash and killing someone. They won't be charged with premeditated murder. That's culpable homicide and carries a lesser sentence which I understand? You mean there was no proof of intent, because his bs story was bought hook-line-and-sinker? Basically yes But as you know Nep a court case result is based on what the prosecutor can prove, not what we personally think should be a valid sentence Personally I think he did know she was in the bathroom and in a fit of rage and anger he fired shots to get her to come out of the bathroom and obviously he ended up killing her But the prosecutor despite doing an excellent just couldn't prove that Oscar knew Riva was behind the door Oh, I know. I'd applaud it, if it was really the system working as intended, and not a famous person getting away with murder vs. the masses of innocent nobodies who get convicted because the police couldn't be arsed to actually figure out what happened instead of just happily pinning it on some poor fool.

Nah, this forum is just a laboratory for group polarization :D

Yeah, we could rename DA2 into Dragon Age: Exaggeration while we are at it. It even works on both sides of the... fence.

Gonna join dr. Greg on Beer Diaries? :D

There's a new stream in 20 minutes on twitch, for those with nothing better to do or who still haven't gotten enough of that lovely fencepost. (I did nothing at work and then got hammered with a coworker, so I can't claim I have anything better to do).

Let me put it this way: I've seen worse being called incidental contact, and this was 4th down.

Thanks you for bothering to state the IMO obvious thing that I just snarked my way past. Because, it's not like they were going to not do it and only decided to at the last minute, because they didn't have anything better to do...
-
We'll see how many lessons they've learned if any. I want to be optimistic too but... with keyboard/mouse controls being a last minute addition, for example, it's pretty obvious they still think that PC gamers are 2-nd class. Last minute addition, my ass.

Sweeney's been the most my heart's been able to take. Late edit for actual contribution:

A couple of stupid penalties/bad calls on crucial downs on both the D and the O in the fourth quarter (borderline roughing the passer, bogus blindside block and borderline PI, which was the game clincher), a favre-esque interception from Breesus, the insane Detroit D-line destroying any chance of a run game and thus clock management, a 73 yard TD from Tate (and it was all on him) aand our only starter caliber CB being sidelined towards the end? There's some bad juju in Nawlins right now, this one was a perfect storm of things going wrong, which is really tragic since for the first three quarters I was seeing the team I've been expecting to see all year...

That loading action also looks like a sure way to jam an ak family gun.

I felt like buying a new game, then I realized that the only thing that's come out in the past six or so months is the "definitive" sleeping dogs, which is apparently a slideshow on the ps4. A lot of "why not" games like the new cod and gta v/ps4 are going to get skipped this year because they release simultaneously with DAI. I might pick up wolfenstein if it's gotten cheaper, or just, y'know, boot up something old and save my money. Hmpf.
