  1. Finally got to the end of act 1 and unlocked my Legacy. Kind of wanted to do it before all the good names were taken (like my first choice was, so I had to go with a William Gibson reference). Now have to put this on ice for a couple of weeks, which is probably a good thing, hit a total disinterest into the normal quests on Alderaan.
  2. She's on record as being a massive (no pun intended) ME fangirl. I assume it's an overblown cameo designed to stroke her ego and kiss up to her fanboys.
  3. That's probably the whole problem, their stuff is actually built to last unlike, say, Samsung's (which is of similar quality... for the limited lifespan).
  4. I don't like working, yet I find myself doing it on a daily basis to be able to buy nice things.
  5. I'm not disappointed, because TOR has performance issues. I'm disappointed, because Bio keeps blaming my hardware. You had that lag/command delay issue they've acknowledged and are working on, right?
  6. Interesting cultural differences, I think only construction workers get paid more than once a month around here (and that's only because there's such a high possibility they'll get locked up during the weekend, that it's much less of a hassle just paying the people who haven't been jailed for that week) That said, as of today, I'm totally debt free (everything on my single remaining credit card is stuff I bought this month and won't be payable before the end of February). A nice feeling, while putting the finishing touches to my dissertation.
  7. At least the blue "yellow crystal" ones can be reverse engineered into purple.
  8. IIRC people who had ordered the rare(st) DXHR release occasionally had their CE's canceled on the final week before release. I've never heard of this with any of the Bio games, OTOH they've consistently failed with the releases (DAO CE was delayed by several weeks, ME2 had to be reprinted due to errors with the comic... DA2 sig ed had massive fails with the code reimbursement... sigh)
  9. I think you can actually buy quite a few recipes from the vendor, the just don't show up until you have the appropriate skill level. Most of them are green, though, so reverse engineering won't get you anything "new", just blue and purple versions of the schematic (meaning they're better for the level limit).
  10. Yeah, did Taral V last night. Ok, we were only three guys (2 shadows and my sentinel) which could have contributed to the general feeling of it having been an unending slog. Also, I swear, my last interesting loot drop was from Hammer Station weeks ago. 've had to put the commendations to real use.
  11. ... Treaties are generally signed before being ratified, ie. Senate's advice and consent in the U.S. Signing a treaty has no legal impact whatsoever. Either there's something I'm missing or the spin doctors have been working overtime.
  12. Got the results of the reviews for my dissertation, almost had managed to forget the thing. So for the next month or so, free time will be spent on wrestling with that instead of swtor or nice young ladies.
  13. it doesnt have base stat boosts. is expensive to experiment, but take alll the mods out of your chest piece/lightsabre/blaster rifle/whatever and you is gonna see that save for some very rare exceptions, all the orange stuff is simply containers for mods. armour mod sets base armour rating. hilt mod sets base damage for lightsabres. etc. the armour we were using at level 50 were stuff we picked up 'round level 20. gots approx +80 will +75 end, and similar big boosts to critical and surge. were all based on mods. HA! Good Fun! I'm lvl 32 now and the esseles sentinel robes are still what I'm using (best-looking medium robes I've had the opportunity to use). Also my offhand weapon is the lightsaber I initially got... Kind of like the thought of using some very early items at end-game.
  14. 7 days since the 20th, looking at it that way I guess I am overplaying though. I don't mean to sound critical or anything. I'm just going to be bummed if a bunch of you guys drop this game like a hot potato in a month and I have nobody left to talk about it with. I've also known a few folks that put in 8 hours a day for years in these games, leveling alts and running end game content, so that does work for some. I just know it is easier for me to enjoy MMO's long term when I only play a few times a week. I'll still be here, I'm progressing really slowly. I have the same set, and I understand that it's about as good as any, barring biotech. I have some artifact crystal recipes reverse engineered
  15. Silent Assassin remains my favourite hitman game, blood money's a good second, though.
  16. This year's list so far is basically me3 (and, to nobody's surprise, I'm sure) I've preordered it on two platforms. With swtor and the new job, probably going to be buying a lot less games this year, anyway.
  17. Bah, all human behaviour, including gender-related, is based on hardware and software. To claim otherwise is just mixing ideology and reality - a common problem, I know. My mother was (is) a real nazi when it came to teaching me manners, so holding doors open for people and other small old-fashioned courtesies are kind of hard-wired to my brain. If some think I'm a chauvinist, it's probably not far from the truth anyway, so don't mind.
  18. Do I have to start posting more actively again so you guys don't have to fight between yourselves?
  19. Hmm. Looks like Greylord and Gorth to me. EDIT: Are you using modified spell effects? Think it was me. I knew this would happen just when I was close to getting to lay my hands on everybody.
  20. HBD! Cracking myself up with the fact that my new employer happily sends me to all the legal conferences all expenses paid - when I was at the university, I generally had to do them out of my own pocket, with a net salary of roughly 1/4 of what I get now. Only had one other person (also a lawyer) tell me that getting a degree in jurisprudence doesn't make me a real doctor. Good times.
  21. At least my server seems to have a serious d(e)arth of healers (at least on the republic side), so any class that heals might give you an easy way into flashpoints and heroics. I'd really like to try a medic commando, but I don't really have enough time for even the one character.
  22. What?! I totally missed the first time I died. I'm sure the experience was interesting.
  23. Finally got off Taris today, spent almost a week there (did the bonus series too). Are you doing the dailies Raithe? IIRC they are supposed to be a pretty good source of cash (I've been doing mine and I'm frankly rolling in it for the moment, no speeder training yet, so might change in the next hour of gametime) Wish I'd have the time for a healer/commando alt, probably going to have less and less time to play in the near future, though.
