  1. After not vigorously cleaning my apartment since the ex took off, and having spent July-October doing nothing but working, eating and sleeping I'm now four days into a herculanean tidying effort. In fact, the stables of Augeas had nothing to that joint. Slowly starting to see results, will probably be able to invite people over for NFL playoff matches.
  2. And I should be a paladin or some other relentless crusader who doesn't give up, no matter what the odds.
  3. I just took all the stuff connected with relics for my jedi knight. Not that I have put much effort into it yet, being still on Coruscant (I actually got further on my two beta weekends, playing two characters, than I've gotten with my single character for now. Talk about change in available leisure time).
  4. Meh, you just have to think of it as a separate (mini-)game, which is what it really is. I liked it, mostly because I was better at the game at that point and so enjoyed going at it without super powers. Also, I wanted it to be the first game where I get and maintain 100 % on the PS3, and thus had to do it Factory Zeroed.
  5. Is this an elaborate setup for "stepping out of the closet" with the new year?
  6. I didn't realise the two games had anything in common. Wait, I still don't.
  7. I suppose it's too late to point out that those holograms aren't romanceable? I knew there was a reason I still haven't gotten around to buying it!
  8. It did read a bit that way, though.
  9. Went for a drink with the hot analyst... but she dragged two of our (female) co-workers with her, so no progress was made. No regress either, which frankly might have been preferable. Incredibly sweet girl, though. Also, 18 yo Talisker is great.
  10. Haven't gotten any gaming in since Thursday. More than a little annoyed. Next Thursday, at the earliest.
  11. Well, I can heartily recommend Spycraft 2.0, it's a superb modern RPG. There's a new, streamlined & improved edition coming out, probably by next GenCon, but even the current edition is well worth checking out. I've also bought a bunch of Corporation books from DrivethruRPG over the past few days and it seems to have the atmosphere down pat - not sure about the mechanics, yet...
  12. The only metroid I've played was in the 90s, and come to think of it, that was another game where the core gameplay was supposed to be enough for the gamer, and I never got that into it. Or are you suggesting that I should play to the end to find out that bats is a girl? Now that would be a plot twist worthy of finishing the game.
  13. Based on this thread, I think you'd have to explain "cool" to a lot of people here. Okay, but who's cool enough to teach us cool? Fonzie? That would probably be too extreme to begin with. Might cause some kind of shock. Probably better start with someone closer to the beginning level, like Dilbert or Chuck Bartowski.
  14. ... while I'm preparing to go back to work tomorrow. Who are the socialists, now?!
  15. Still haven't managed to finish it, the core gameplay isn't really captivating enough and the spoon-feeding of new abilities seemed more tedious than an something that would urge me to keep going. I found the core gameplay and the way the gadget are slowly given to you through the game, giving you a "uh, maybe I should go back to that area and check if I can catch that Riddler trophy now" feeling two of the best features of the game. What can I say, sorry you didn't enjoy it. Yeah, it was one of those things where I almost felt I should've liked it, but didn't.
  16. Well, it makes watching the Kempton Winter Festival equivalent of a trip to the Caribbean from the Nordic viewpoint.

  18. When I was in beta you could hit the ESC key during the conversation and it would reset it back to the beginning. This way if you make a mistake and accidentally choose dark side option instead of light, you can reset it. Still there.

  20. Windows in space ships totally ruined both kotors for me too. And SWTOR. And basically all sci fi I have ever seen.
  21. That's why we have locks on doors here in the North.
  22. Doesn't that include pretty much every game made? Pretty much. A great collection of arm chair developers who seem to claim they have all the answers yet few if any have written one line of code or written a story. That sounds eerily familiar. :D
  23. You forget one fact that they ME writers are acutely aware of: ME fans care more about the romances than the science, they're more likely to throw a fit if their favorite companion isn't romanceable than if they decided to get rid off the "mass effect fields" and instead use magic gnomes as the cause of all phenomena.
  24. True, true, but still (in the holiday spirit), it makes baby Jesus cry.

And finished it with kind of speaks volumes. :D You've consumed a small pouch of speed? Just bipolar, I'm afraid. :D Isn't being afraid paranoia? The self-diagnosis wasn't meant to be exhaustive...
