Yes, you misunderstood. Playing the game online improves the "end game score", but so does doing side missions. So you can pick either grinding the hell out of online or playing every single mission for the best score. (note, conjecture, actual amount of gameplay for best result unknown) Edit: online here means the multiplayer portion, not some whacked out drm scheme.

After the top secret, reverse-engineered Reaper technology/quarian ubertech/etc upgrades to Normandy 2, it is, indeed, a "super ship". Ok, what part of ME1 and ME2 are in conflict. Again, a simple blanket statement won't be accepted. Happy to see people speak their mind, so often this forum descends to the haters circle-jerking and everybody else legitimising them with their silence. Proud to be a member here today.

Original Syndicate had a wonderful custom demo mission with the old Macformat mag, where you had to go around the city and "persuade" three of the magazine's journos, while getting attacked by cops and rival agents. Was probably the best level in the game, and was standalone! :D

Already explained with the Hells Angels logo. Makes perfect sense. Pretty much this. Though (even) the human Reaper didn't really lessen my enjoyment, could've been better handled. Only one of those (working with Cerberus) is a genuine plothole, the rest is just stuff you didn't like. Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that. Though I'm almost tempted to put Cerberus under "retcon" rather than plothole, it's so blatant. Ah yes. That was kinda weird. Was it ever explained why Shep and his henchmen took off with a Shuttle while the Nromandy was then ravaged by the Protheans? Yepp, you're going on a mission away from the Normandy which is restricted to sub-light travel due to the IFF integration process. Miranda has the genius idea of bringing everybody along, so you don't have to decide on your away team until the last moment. Plot-required stupidity, but not implausible.

Next on my list, though I think I'll grit my teeth and go do a level or so on Alderaan. Being a sentinel, having a few extra level doesn't exactly hurt me.

I was assuming it was you, but I admit I have a hard time keeping you guys apart sometimes since your opinions are so similar down to the ways they are worded. I CBA to go through all the me2 threads to find any of the last times this was brought up, but if it's a case of mistaken identity, I apologise. p.s. I think you mixed up two fallacious argumentation techniques, strawmanning and ad-hominem.

Recruitment missions != loyalty missions. Loyalty missions are all optional, in fact you can jump into the Omega Relay right after the derelict Reaper. I am quite aware of the mechanics and the differences between the mission types. You can't access the derelict reaper straight after doing all the recruitment missions because the prerequisite Collector Cruiser ambush doesn't trigger until you've done some loyalty missions. Ok, I guess it could be random, but I've actually tried it, and always had to do loyalty missions before endgame was unlocked via that event.

You're married to the president of Finland?

Dude, you've been too tired to list them since the game came out, in spite of repeatedly referring to them. I think you should have your blood sugar levels checked. I've seen lists of "plot holes" in the game, they've been 60% "bwaa, the game didn't hold my hand and I can't connect the two dots myself", 35 % "I hate Bioware for ruining my childhood, so I will look at this game in bad faith and attempt to twist the plot into a point where it makes no sense" (I suspect Boo's different avatars are behind these) and 5 % something that I'm actually willing to accept as an actual plot hole.
-
Yeah, except you can't avoid doing loyalty missions due to the way the game is paced, you don't unlock the endgame until after you've done several of them. Oh hey, here we are back at the "multitude of plotholes" that never get specified, too. I'll address my favourite one of them, the "it doesn't make sense for a cerberus ship to be marked as one!!!11one" with the next attached picture

Which would place his latest impressions on the matter into the Reagan era, right?

... Considering the amount of effort you had to put into getting Shepard killed, I'd think you'd be overjoyed with the result.

So, in the hopes that you are actually the last person on the planet who wasn't aware of it, I will now inform you that there is no importing any savegames of dead shepards. That's game over. Suck on that C&C.

That DLC sure has some pretty heavy-handed railroading.

As usual, the amount of jilted lover style bitching and flat-out incorrect information in this thread astounds me. And kind of makes me afraid, considering how much of my information I get from this forum.

But common. The good part about having parents in academia is that they've worked their whole life with young people and have had to follow how things change. The bad part is being respectable, but poor.

While I actually find deadlines rapidly following each other quite refreshing after my stint in academia (and working on the same unending project for almost three years now), am absolutely knackered right now. Almost got to cancel one of the committees I'm secretary to, except got some new legal text from the ministry for comments at almost literally the last second. Still, a refreshing change from the uni, and the salary still puts a smile on my face.

Generally, if you are getting an actually large tv, it's worth coughing up extra for the models with local dimming led backlighting. Side illuminating ones are IMO inferior to the traditional ccfl backlit ones, so there's actually been a regression in picture quality over the past few years.

Let me state right off that I'm pretty technologically retarded when it comes to the XBox360 (not much better with computers, but I'm absolutely useless with the 360). So with that said ... My ME1 and ME2 save data is on my old XBox360 harddrive, the original one with only like 10 GB of memory. I bought a new XBox360 almost two years ago that had more memory, and thus that's the one I use now. So other than attaching my old harddrive to my new 360 unit, I wasn't sure how to actually access those files. I'd heard that there was a thing you could buy to link two 360s, but I didn't want to pay just to do that. Are you saying there's an easier way to do it? I saw that new Cloud feature, but I didn't know what it was. Yes, the cloud feature is there to allow you to move saves between consoles (or as offsite backups, if you are paranoid like me), as long as you have the same gamertag on both. It won't move ME1 endgame saves, but if you have a regular save close to the end, all you'd need to replay would be the final encounter. So if you have the old console still around, would be a breeze to move the saves. I upgraded my x360 with just a harddrive, so it came with a transfer kit. Edit: reread what you wrote. I think it should be doable with the old HD in the new console as well, certainly if you can get it to work normally on it otherwise.

+, while the new Oppo might give it a run for its money, its still, for the moment, the best blu-ray player out there. In fact, that's how I got back into gaming four years ago, I bought it for movies and thought I could do some gaming while I had the hardware...
-
I've got just over a month to do a replay of both ME1 and ME2 so that I'll have personalized characters to import over to ME3, rather than just using the default one they give you. It kind of sucks because I already DO have some Shepards who I leveled up to max, but that was on my old XBox360 harddrive that I no longer use. The new one doesn't have any ME saves yet. I'm not sure how you managed such a situation, tbh. Upgrade to gold for a mnimum period and use the cloud to get everything on one hd?

Meanwhile, I will keep loving the fact that I can't submit my taxes before... May? and get the returns until early December.

I found the storyline quests (republic, jedi) quite enjoyable, but the sidequests are starting to get a bit tedious. I'm pretty overleveled, but I like to keep it that way because my friend from the same server's been working the evening shift (no same time gaming) and Rogue Moon in general seems to be pretty quiet - hard to get parties, so need to be leveled to handle the harder non-heroics solo.
-
I admire that. Its the only fair approach towards the consumer. Unfortunately since big business has free reign to decide what the consumers deserve to get, exactly no one is surprised that we get turd in the end. As do I, which is why I won't let anyone buy any other tv than a Sony.

This thread sure has.
