Or was it Austria?

Oh, right. DA2 was so crap that I doubt it'd have been particularly profitable. Well, it sold more than DAO and was developed in a fraction of the time. I think it was very profitable, I just suspect they're not yet done with it.

It's the "winner takes all" system, not the campaign costs which result in that. Actually, you're both correct. The US electoral system (first past the post) ****s over new parties and candidates who want to change things, and the fairly non-existent limits on political 'donations' ensure that, generally, only the parties and candidates favoured by the big corporations stay in or take power. It's aggravated by the campaign costs, but my experience is that the winner takes all system tends to lead to two party systems wherever it's used. Recent UK elections being the exception.

I was more outraged at Exiled Prince. That wasn't even free for day 1 purchasers of any kind. Only pre-orders. Day 1 DLC is not really any different from month 3 DLC. Sometimes that's what it is from a development perspective. Frankly, complaining about Day 1 DLC that you can get for free in some release of the game is IMHO just stupid. They're providing the people who chose to not buy a special edition the option of acquiring it immediately. The other possibilities would be to either keep it exclusive to the limited version, or release it to the general public months down the road. I find the method adopted here the best possible one of the alternatives.
-
Well, since it doesn't cost me anything more, why should I? ;P

Right, nothing apart from the comment in the end titles of the DLC. But yes, considering the trade-in mentality, I suspect they've moved on to a sequel.

That's odd, because the Sentinel is best played kind of like a Vanguard-without-Charge. At range, use your Warp/Overload. But when you get a chance, rush in close, let them shoot your shields down to get the AOE damage/knockdown effect, and give 'em a good punch/bullet in the mouth. The cautious player's choice is the Infiltrator. Snipe 'em, and if they get too close, cloak and run away. You're right, I didn't really put it well. In ME2 sentinel allowed me to maintain a steady, aggressive pace for advancing without suicidal leaps or having to turtle. Doesn't look it will in ME3, as it doesn't even replenish your shield when activated. So the class thing is still a bit on the drawing board at casa Nepenthe. Meanwhile: (2 discs again on x360)

Just play Vanguard. Level charge to max and spam it. If at any point there is an enemy on screen and you aren't using charge, you are doing it wrong. Never liked the ME2 vanguard. My cautious nature drove me to the Sentinel.

One... so far.

Haven't tried MP yet. Don't generally play mp, but since got live gold for the cloud storage in a fit of paranoia earlier this year, might give it a shot at some point. Tempted to find that webcomic about why adults will never be any good in online games, though. ... was in ME2 as well, so, so? Of course, the amount of people on bioboards who are bat**** crazy is, well, considerable.

So countries are like witches. They can't cross water? Well, either way, it still doesn't make sense given that the Falklands is across an ocean, and an entire hemisphere. Unless there's some form of "island hegemony" in play. Kind of like Guam, eh? Is a nearby government saying "It's ours you prick!" to the USA? No? Then no, it's not like Guam. So colonialism isn't controlling a foreign territory and not allowing them participation in the democratic process but denying Argentinians oil? Ok. Guam is welcome to join the political process... they have a rep in the senate (among other things) and are relatively autonomous. Federal Taxes collected on the island go to the local government, rather than the Feds. They have enough people that if they they could go and become a state, but they don't want to. Sounds a lot like the Falklands, then. Well, apart from the fact that the representative of Guam is just an observer. I just wanted in on whats shaping up to be a hell of a quote pyramid.

well, the bugs didn't use to be humans, corrupted into something else. Was good seeing Big Ben make a return.

Says the pervert who keeps posting pictures of skinny half-naked girls. On his defense 99.9% of women in games are half-naked; if they did a KOTOR 2 remake now, Kreia would have a tank top. ... you're pretending that it's actually changed over time? If anything, it's gotten tamer. In any case, Tyris Flare and Vala the Amazonian send you their regards.

I think you're still ahead of me, though. :D

Ok, I can't really disagree with you here, but to me those parts did serve to break the monotony in a welcome way. Unlike the hammerhead, which, unlike my esteemed colleague above, I consider to be an utter and abject failure from the ground up.
-
They've been pretty quiet on the substance of the side missions, but they're definitely in there because of the way the "best ending" is reached... which I think the other already alluded to. Personally, knowing that the planets now have multiple entry points, suspect that they're going to be separate areas (like in me3) but just on different parts of the planets you are already visiting. I quite liked the story-related mako missions (and Bring Down the Sky). It was certainly better than that abortion, Hammerhead. In fact, just writing "hammerhead" makes me wince. Again.

It depends, the colour-coded ones are those that generally require a minimum paragon/renegade score to activate, and also do yield those points. Generally top right/bottom right are paragon/renegade respectively, but the amount of points, if any, is not disclosed beforehand.

Perhaps he wasn't expecting a non-bioware game to meet with any kind of criticism on this forum.

You guys seem more like stalkers by the day.

I've seen it happen on the xbox side, but not on the PC one. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened. Mind you, ME2 didn't even have a "goty" edition of any kind (well, apart from the PS3 one).

It sounded to me like a hamfisted reason for why Tali was messing around in Geth space. I doubt whether it will be ever further explored, let alone explained. It was thrown around in a few places, not just Haestrom. OTOH the way they've had to retcon stuff (like how Protheans no longer look like the prothean statues in ME1 - they weren't Protheans!), it could wind up just being what you say, a red herring (which is basically the same thing), a part of the solution to the quarian/geth conflict (one way or another) or indeed something more far-reaching.
