It's just that each violent event immediately gets in the news all over the world + Hollywood action movies and US media giving the impression that everyone's a gun-toting nutter.

Dark Brotherhood is only decent Oblivion questline, imo. Problem with guild questlines in Oblivion and Skyrim is that they're completely separated from the world and overall storyline (happening in a vacuum), unlike Morrowind. -
